I've got the Blackberry Storm 9520. I've downloaded the Blackberry desktop and installed my phone to it, but it doesn't even give me the option to update my software, is it because my phone doesn't support this software?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy desktop manager is indicating an update and it's a core application that needs to be updated, every time I try to apply it, it downloads all the way to the end, and then when it states: Waiting for Device Initialization, my storm never does initialize ! even though it has always rebooted properly on previous updates, and then the update window just goes away and we're back to zero point.

View 9 Replies View Relatedi'm having problems updating my device i've tried using the desktop mangager way but half way through it pops up with an error message saying ' an error has occured while downloading software for your device, please verify your internet connection or try again later, if this problem persisits' i've tried about 10 times now over a three day period and the same things happens everytime.
i'm currently runnung with 4.7.0.1818 but can update to the 5.0 version. i've also tried updating wirelessly but when i check for updates it pops up and says 'unable to send request for available updates'.
What does the OS 5.0.0.607 upgrade contain that the previous OS did not? I keep hearing that "607 is such a great OS", but no one has said why. Someone please detail all the things it changed from the previous OS. So far... I only see the destroyed apps I have now, and the one cool thing, the letter popping up above what is being pressed...

My Storm 1 crashed Sunday night with message on screen stating 'Reload Softwares 552'. I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years. Gonna miss my Storm 1 but the Storm 2 is sweet! Just got it today. Anyone wanting to upgrade, try using that excuse.

It showed me that your current version is 5.0.0.497 and new version 5.0.0.1077 is available for download. When I clicked the new update it says "Submitting Update Request" which remains as is and nothing happen after that till today. Rather after couple of minutes a message arrives that Waiting for Connecivity to submit request. Do you want to keep waiting? When I press yes, it happens again and again. And when I press no the previous screen arrives from where I started.

When I run the ap listing through the desktop software, total memory used (added up by me) is 66.1 MB plus 3693 KB. This is based on the memory that the ap listing says each application is taking up. So approx 70 mb total.Device says total ap memory is 124 mb. This means I should have about 54 mb available? Unless I'm missing something?But the device lists available ap memory as only 19 mb (immediately upon restart after battery pull)I have been unable to install the latest update (or rather the last one I have tried to update; maybe there has been more since, I don't know) because it says I need 33mb to do so.

What is taking up that extra ap memory and how do I make enough space to download the update?I did try downloading the update once, but it wouldn't let me finish... is it somehow possible that the update is taking up space without actually being fully installed? While updating to the latest OS for the 9550 my phone just froze up with a code on the screen "Reload Software: 507". It was in the middle of the update when the pop-up on my computer said it could not connect. I hit retry about 5 times. I then did a battery pull but the error came back.

I have the Storm 2 9550 with Verizon.Since the latest update (v5.0.0.607), my phone freezes constantly to the point where the phone is really unusable. I spend a lot of time looking at the mini clock spinning in the middle of the screen, while I try desperately to kill my phone.I did not have this problem at all before the update.

Things work a lot smoother and faster, which is great, however I notice my Music icon has disappeared since then. And not just gone, but COMPLETELY gone! I have no desktop icon for music, nor is it located under my Media icon. Actually, it is not located anywhere under any folder in the entire device. I know that my music is still somewhere in there, however, as I can access them (begrudgingly) by doing the following: Media --> *Blackberry button* --> Explore --> Media Card --> Blackberry --> Music And there they are! So, my question is this: HOW do I get the shortcut to appear on my main page, as well as under the Media icon, again?

Good morning all. Yesterday BB app world informed me there was a newer version of ScoreMobile available. I checked the release notes and it said it was compatible for the OS running on my Storm 2 (v5.0.0.1015 - Bundle 1656, Platform 4.2.0.442). I installed it, but after restarting I received an error. I decided to do a battery pull and received the same error. I tried uninstalling the entire app and performing another battery pull and received the same error. I also tried booting into safe mode on my BB. On reboot, the first error is "Uncaught exception: Index 5>= 5" After I hit "OK", I receive this error: "Uncaught exception: ApplicationRegistry.getOrWaitFor(0x7c802477365c3985) owner died Thread [Thread-94372864,5]" I hit "OK" and everything seems to go back to normal except I can't make phone calls and the BB is freezing. This device worked fine before this upgrade.

View 8 Replies View Relatedyesterday i set my storm on the dock to my computer, started up dm. an update on my core applications 5.0 was available so i proceeded with the update. now all of those pushed icons for bing, my verizon, Internet, etc. keep popping up without a reboot! anyone else come across this?before the update i would remove these icons in my service books and they wouldn't pop up until after a reboot. since this latest update the icons pop up every half hour or so. very annoying to say in the least!
i apologize, i know this has been discussed already but this is getting so ridiculous! verizon keeps telling me "there's nothing they can do".is there a way to go back and "un-do" this update? i know we can't permanently delete these pushed icons, only hide them.
I have a storm running on tmobile. I found a fix to always get an EDGE and did it. it worked the first time and was fine for a few months but then it stopped working so I did it again. When I did my phone stopped having any data service. There are no entries in the host routing table..Ive reregistered my device a million times and its not working. Ive been on the phone with tmobile (they are no help) I read all the post about this but nothing has fixed it.

I have tried reinstalling the OS in all the possible ways. From loader.exe, from desktop manager, but I end up getting back to this same error message.
I changed the password on my email account online and when I went to change the password on BB Storm2 - I kept getting error. So I deleted the account and restarted the process using BB Email setup wizard. Now I keep getting "update failed" and doesn't go far...tried it several times.
