I tired to update my blackberry but then it said the device could not be recognised so i then took out the usb and now it just won't turn on but it just flashes red
View 4 Repliesi'm having problems updating my device i've tried using the desktop mangager way but half way through it pops up with an error message saying ' an error has occured while downloading software for your device, please verify your internet connection or try again later, if this problem persisits' i've tried about 10 times now over a three day period and the same things happens everytime.
i'm currently runnung with 4.7.0.1818 but can update to the 5.0 version. i've also tried updating wirelessly but when i check for updates it pops up and says 'unable to send request for available updates'.
can anyone help me pls!i am trying to update my storm 1 from 4.7.0.181 to 5...425,but i can`t!it says that "no software update is required for your device"!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a new BlackBerry Storm 9530, running software release 5. The voice dialing is not working well at all. It seems to only recognize my Contact entries if I say them last name first. Besides the fact that I don't naturally think to talk this way, it's not always obvious how to say contacts that are not normal names, such as the name of a business.
The voice dialing on my old Storm (which I had to replace for other problems) allowed me to speak FN, LN, and recognized most names accurately, so I feel there must be some setting that I need to make.
I'm looking to remove voice dialing from my storm but can't find a device software download that works. When I tried to get it from verizon's site it would not let me download the mr3 update to my computer.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm in a catch 22 situation here. My storm will not allow me to set up emails via the setup menu as it is saying my device not registered. It then gives me the options to go thro in order to register.easy so far.I follow the instructions and go to the host routing table, and click on the register option..also easy so far.By the time I've come out of the menu, I have received a message from blackberry saying my blackberry has been registered to a wireless network. Excellent.When I got back to the setup email options, it is telling me that my device is not registered.

But if i had credit on it, it would use my credit up?Then after a few times it came up with uncaught exception error 4 or 5, the number would change.But the other day it switched off and 2 days later it has not switched back on, i have it on charge and has been on charge since it happened.

The plan I am in with my carrier allows unlimited mails and chat.
Is there any way I could load apps through my PC into my device.
Most apps that I tried won't allow this, they need the app link to be clicked from the device rather than from a PC?
When I start the Desktop Manager and connect my phone everything works fine. I then try to launch Media Manager and the Device connected (PIN) : Blackberry 9550 (310C647) goes grey and the software says " There is no device connected. Please connect your device in order to view its contents."

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I purchased a 1.5TB drive and set out to rip all my CD that I have been collecting since the 80's. I decided to put some of these CD's on my Storm. I opened the handy dandy DM and clicked on the media sync, but I would be damned if I could not figure any way to import specific albums. I can sync all (I have way too much to do that) or recently changed. But how the hizzy do I import only specific albums? Do I simply open the music sync folder on the memory card on my computer desktop and drag them over? If this is the case, why is the BB music sync program so lame?

I tried changing time zones and going back, rebooting and searching can't seem to find a solution. When I go into options, date/time..under device time the time is wrong but the actual network time displays as the right time.

I need a simple way to transfer all of them to my computer, since obviously emailing them one at a time or moving them one at a time is not practical.When I go to Options > Memory, all options are set to On (Media Card Support, Media Transfer Protocol, and Mass Storage Mode Support).When I go to Media > Pictures > All Pictures, I see all my photos. When I go to Picture Folders, it says Device Memory.
While connected to my PC via USB, I try to pull it up in Windows Explorer. I see options for MTP Device - Device Memory and MTP Device - Media Card. There are only empty folders under Device Memory. Media Card has nothing under Data, and only my music files under Media. Similar behavior when I pull it up under Windows Media Player.
Ever since I've upgrade to the 5.0.x software, even though my spell check and autocomplete are turned off, the software is still correcting my words. If I type: The program sam is made in The software corrects it automatically to: The program Sam is made in Erasing the word and typing again will not work as it will be capitalized. What works is pausing after writing the word sam and then chosing from the popup that allows a choice of sam or Sam.This was not the case in 4.7 . If it is of any importance, I use multitap.

I noticed that now when I SMS, bbm, or even typing here it is giving like a predictive text list, I don't like this can it be turned off. I did a battery pull repeatedly and charged it over night, at first the red light would blink whenever i hit the power button and now its completely unresponsive, no red light at all. Will not even show its charging, my computer will not detect it.
