Just upgraded the OS on the storm I just got to 5.0.0.328. I noticed that now when I SMS, bbm, or even typing here it is giving like a predictive text list, I don't like this can it be turned off. I have auto correct turned off and also auto text turned off, but yet it still shows up.
View 4 RepliesRecently I changed jobs and as a result I used crackutil to remove my old companies (BES) IT policy from my BB.The new company activated via wireless activation (BES) and now I have 2 "desktop" contact lists. I am trying to sync with lotuc notes but cant as only the 2nd desktop list will sync. my original contacts are in the other desktop list and will not sync. I have tried going to contacts > options> typing rset and it deletes the lists but i cant get them to load from back up into one list.

I can access the phone but contacts do not come up in BROWSE feature of Backup assist. Also it can't seem to pull them in thru a BB Manager recent back up.
Screen is cracked and I can't call *228 to (re)activate the phone to do Back up Assist thru the phone the normal way.
I had to reinstall my OS a couple weeks ago. I installed the official 5.0.0.328 from Verizon, and now for some reason, my contact lists aren't syncing with my Gmail account. I went into the settings to try to enable it, but the option is grayed out (it says that Wireless Synchronization is Not Available). What happened, and how do I fix my problem? I appreciate any help. BTW I have two GMail accounts on my phone so I don't want to use Google Sync.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of music loaded on my 9530 Storm and alot of times I want to see the song list when in shuffle mode. To do this I press the Blackberry button and select 'Show Songs'. Problem is, I always have to scroll up to get to the 'Show Songs' item in the list because the 'Options' item is always highlighted and it is at the bottom of the list. My question is How do I get the list to have 'Show Songs' appear without having to scroll up to get it? - I have tried to close the application with the 'Show Songs' highlighted but it always reverts back to the 'Options' item highlighted.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy company is requiring me to migrate to Outlook which requires a reset for my BB where I have to wipe the Storm and start all over. I've done this in the past with no trouble, but this time we're transitioning to Outlook, and I'm hearing from numerous colleagues that it DOES empty my Contacts and replaces them with what Contacts I have within Outlook - which is about 5% of what I have in my BB Contact List. I need to do this today. Can anyone help me in understanding how to access and at least print the list so that I know how to keep it? Also, I backed up my BB on Desktop Manager last night, just in case, but when I try to search for the Contact info I couldn't find anything.

View 4 Replies View Relatedalright so i have threaded messaging on my storm 9530 and i was looking at one of my txt convos and scrolling up and it was getting kind of complicated cause i was trying to access a message from about two weeks ago but i txt so much after about 5 minutes i was only up to maybe 3 days ago. Is there a way i can organize my txts like bbm has it where its in a folder marked person and followed by date ? this would make my life so much easier.

View 13 Replies View RelatedEver since I've upgrade to the 5.0.x software, even though my spell check and autocomplete are turned off, the software is still correcting my words. If I type: The program sam is made in The software corrects it automatically to: The program Sam is made in Erasing the word and typing again will not work as it will be capitalized. What works is pausing after writing the word sam and then chosing from the popup that allows a choice of sam or Sam.This was not the case in 4.7 . If it is of any importance, I use multitap.

I did a battery pull repeatedly and charged it over night, at first the red light would blink whenever i hit the power button and now its completely unresponsive, no red light at all. Will not even show its charging, my computer will not detect it.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I have text conversations I seem to lose app memory faster resulting in the Storm becoming very sluggish and inoperable, only remedied by a battery pull. Is it the texting application that is the source of the memory leak or is the leak somewhere else only sped up with all the back and forth texting?

O yeah let me add also that it seems when I have BBM conversations as well app memory drains. Am I dealing with a memory leak or many memory leaks? Or is the phone just underpowered for all this?
I get my ringtones from myxer.com and mytinyphone and sites such as that. When I set any of these ringtones i download as my sms alert or phone call ringtone, it just uses the default ringtone. So I checked to see if I saved my ringtone settings. Sure enough I did. So I tried turning my phone off and back on, and my ringtone settings just get reset back to default. When I had my 2 gig microsd in it was doing the same thing, but after a couple days it was using the ringtones I set for it. I just put an 8 gig microsd in and there's no hope.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSunday night I went to bed with a battery that was at least 80% charged. I had my alarm set to wake me up the next morning. I have no idea if that has anything to do with the battery possibly getting drained. As far as I know, I didn't have any apps running either. Anyway, Monday morning I woke up to a completely dead Storm. I tried plugging it in, but all I got was a red light for about 10 secs, the screen went black & then a white screen with a battery in the middle appeared with a red slash through the battery. I've tried everything from a battery pull to even taking a risk & dropping it on the floor & still nothing. I even went & bought a new battery but that's not the issue either. No matter what I do, I still get the same result. It's not the chargers cause I've tried both my wall charger & USB charger.

I called Verizon and after an hour long conversation they couldn't figure out my problem, so I hope I will have better luck with y'all.When I go to Setup-Email Settings
My listed email accounts include my Gmail account, but the text is red and it says "Invalid Account. Please Validate" So I click on it, type my password, and it says "Your xxxx@gmail.com password is invalid. Please try again"If I go to the mobile site or go to gmail on my PC I enter the same password and it works flawlessly. It was working fine on my old Storm. I'm not having any other issues with email or data. I am getting my comcast email that I had no issues setting up. I have tried deleting the gmail account and re-adding it. What could be the issue?On a related note, when I first click "Setup" and then "Email Settings" it wants me to log in to the BIS. It has never prompted me to do that until I got this phone.
OkI have the first version of the storm and there is a delay when the phone is upright then i turn it to the side to reply or send a text sometimes it wont do anything. I heard there is some update to fix this??? how do I go about fixing it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI wish there was an easy way for me to portray the amount of disdain I have for my Storm at this time, however, that won't do me any good!I'm just looking to get some insight to my problem and whether or not it can be resolved! It would be really unfortunate if I had to replace my lump of a phone as I am a college student that just moved away from home and am in the middle of my two-year contract.My phone is still in operating order minus the faulty touchscreen, it still receives messages, emails, and even phone calls. All the side buttons work, in short, the screen is just dead.I did not drop it nor spill any liquids on it and I've performed a plethora of battery pulls. I'm at a loss!Let me describe the events that occurred before (seemingly) death of my touchscreen. I was at a friends house preparing for a 9/11 5k race when I noticed my battery was running low so I left it in a safe place to quietly run out of steam because I had no need to carry a phone during a race. At this point it was still fully functional. After the race, I check my phone to see if it was out of power yet which it was. I get home later that night and charge it only to rudely surprised by an inoperable screen. I cleaned the screen and did a few battery pulls afterwards in hopes it was only a minor problem to no avail.

According to bbleaks, it sounds as though there insinuating that an OS leak for Storm 9500/9530 will be coming within the next week or so. If its true then sweet! Can't wait!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using the Blackberry Storm, I believe the 9530 (its the first gen). Anyway, just recently my text messages only stay for a couple of days and then they delete themselves or simpley disappear.
There have been numerous cases where I need the information someone sent me in those messages, but I can't seem to find them. Is there something wrong with how the phone is set up? Is this a memory thing? Is there a way to get those messages back, are they stored somewhere?
How many Storm 1 owners are there that's ready to upgrade to the storm 3 when it comes out, or thinking of going with something totally different?

I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years. Gonna miss my Storm 1 but the Storm 2 is sweet! Just got it today. Anyone wanting to upgrade, try using that excuse.
