I'm looking to remove voice dialing from my storm but can't find a device software download that works. When I tried to get it from verizon's site it would not let me download the mr3 update to my computer.
View 6 RepliesI am having trouble trying to use the Voice Dialing feature on my phone.It used to work fine, but now any time I try to access the Voice Dialing, it goes to to the Voice Dialing screen, and it starts Initializing/syncing, but it just backs out back to the main screen.I've tried using convenience keys and the touch screen to access Voice Dialing.Nothing works.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a 4 day old BlackBerry Storm 9530 and so far I love it. But I have an issue with the voice dialing and am wondering if anyone else has had this issue or if there is a fix.
When I activate voice commands everything works from the bluetooth, but about 50% of the time when I use voice commands to call someone, I will get to the point where the phone and I confirm the selection(name) to call and it will say(and show on the BlackBerry screen) for example: "Susan Home Calling..." And the blackberry will stay on that screen, not connecting to anyone if I press any key it will bring me right back to the "home" screen on the BB, no making any calls.
Also, I am noticing some dust specs under the top left corner of my touchscreen, I know its underneath the screen because I can tell, and I am very OCD about wiping off my screen and keeping my phone immaculately clean..
I am somewhat saddened by the fact that such a well known and highly respected device doesn't in fact have an 'airtight' screen, and lets dust underneath, especially after only four days, in a clean house and never even in a pocket..
i just changed my phone from an iphone to a blackberry I was updating my OS? or i think it was.long story short, it doesnot have a reboot loop (it did and i tried almost everything that ppl suggested)not only I have 507 error when its NOT connected to a pc but also when i connect it to my pc it has only a black dead screen with red led light (not flashing).DM doesnt recognize my bb, LOADER doesnt either, I removed & reinstalled like 20 times since yesterday.

I plan on giving the phone to my girlfriend and in the last few days the camera has become inoperative. I've done battery pulls. Remove memory card. Nothing seems to fix it. It starts up and them it shuts off saying it cannot be opened.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a new BlackBerry Storm 9530, running software release 5. The voice dialing is not working well at all. It seems to only recognize my Contact entries if I say them last name first. Besides the fact that I don't naturally think to talk this way, it's not always obvious how to say contacts that are not normal names, such as the name of a business.
The voice dialing on my old Storm (which I had to replace for other problems) allowed me to speak FN, LN, and recognized most names accurately, so I feel there must be some setting that I need to make.
I upgraded my OS to 5.0 for use with Verizon Broadband tethering.It no longer could connect.I called Verizon and they recommended a downgrade to the old OS.It works again. Sounds like this is a known issue for 5.0 with the Verizon broadband tether.Is there a fix in the works from BlackBerry?I liked what 5.0 had to offer, but can't upgrade again until this is fixed as I need to tether for work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone purchased the Jabra CRUISER and actually got it to work with Voice Commands on the Storm II 9550? I can answer calls but it will not respond to placing a voice command. I receive no "Say a command" prompt.
Any replies would be appreciated as I am on the second one and I do not think it's the Jabra now...The Jabra CRUISER does support Voice Dialing
How many Storm 1 owners are there that's ready to upgrade to the storm 3 when it comes out, or thinking of going with something totally different?

View 6 Replies View RelatedNew user here. I am on my second Verizon Storm2 (in one month) with same issue. After dialing Verizon *611 or when calling voicemail, the number keypad is disabled and the numbers are gone or moved to different locations so I can not enter PIN. I am sure it is a software issue. Tried a hard reset with no luck. VZ authorized retailer believes he can fix this problem by wiping clean and reinstalling one app at a time. Has anyone else had same problem and any luck with a fix?

I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years. Gonna miss my Storm 1 but the Storm 2 is sweet! Just got it today. Anyone wanting to upgrade, try using that excuse.

View 14 Replies View RelatedRecently I changed jobs and as a result I used crackutil to remove my old companies (BES) IT policy from my BB.The new company activated via wireless activation (BES) and now I have 2 "desktop" contact lists. I am trying to sync with lotuc notes but cant as only the 2nd desktop list will sync. my original contacts are in the other desktop list and will not sync. I have tried going to contacts > options> typing rset and it deletes the lists but i cant get them to load from back up into one list.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI wish there was an easy way for me to portray the amount of disdain I have for my Storm at this time, however, that won't do me any good!I'm just looking to get some insight to my problem and whether or not it can be resolved! It would be really unfortunate if I had to replace my lump of a phone as I am a college student that just moved away from home and am in the middle of my two-year contract.My phone is still in operating order minus the faulty touchscreen, it still receives messages, emails, and even phone calls. All the side buttons work, in short, the screen is just dead.I did not drop it nor spill any liquids on it and I've performed a plethora of battery pulls. I'm at a loss!Let me describe the events that occurred before (seemingly) death of my touchscreen. I was at a friends house preparing for a 9/11 5k race when I noticed my battery was running low so I left it in a safe place to quietly run out of steam because I had no need to carry a phone during a race. At this point it was still fully functional. After the race, I check my phone to see if it was out of power yet which it was. I get home later that night and charge it only to rudely surprised by an inoperable screen. I cleaned the screen and did a few battery pulls afterwards in hopes it was only a minor problem to no avail.

I was also in a moderate car crash the day prior so perhaps that may have caused some problems? Externally, my phone is in mint condition. I suppose this just hasn't been my week!
I love my storm and my vzw service. All except vzw decides to just send crap to my phone I don't want. Is there any way to get rid of theses auto downloaded crap? Also I have deleted a ton of stuff from my phone and I cant seam to get my available memory to increase any at one time I had 20mgb available not I'm lucky with 14mgb

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I purchased a 1.5TB drive and set out to rip all my CD that I have been collecting since the 80's. I decided to put some of these CD's on my Storm. I opened the handy dandy DM and clicked on the media sync, but I would be damned if I could not figure any way to import specific albums. I can sync all (I have way too much to do that) or recently changed. But how the hizzy do I import only specific albums? Do I simply open the music sync folder on the memory card on my computer desktop and drag them over? If this is the case, why is the BB music sync program so lame?

I tried changing time zones and going back, rebooting and searching can't seem to find a solution. When I go into options, date/time..under device time the time is wrong but the actual network time displays as the right time.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis never used to happen, but just started in maybe the past couple of weeks:-when I use gmail to send an email, the sent email it now appears on my device as a sent message(with a check mark).I like this because everynow and then I send myself an email as a reminder of something, except that those dont go through as "unread" to the device, just as "sent".Is there a way to turn off automatic retrieving of "sent mail", and turn on retrieving messages I send to myself as unread received mail?

View 8 Replies View RelatedOk this is my situation. I have a blackberry curve from tmobile. My sister got a new phone so she gave me her blackberry storm 9350. I went to a cell phone shop around my area and they unlocked the storm so i can use it with my tmobile sim card. I put on the sim card and i thought everything was working perfect but then i found out that i have multiple problem.
The good: I can make calls, i can use the internet.
The bad: when i place a call my sister number appears in the other person phone (not my tmobile number), i cant call my voicemail, cant setup my email, cant receive calls and more problems i still havent discovered lol.
My browser and email stopped working about 3 days ago and I spent almost a whole day on the phone with support, no help. They had me do everything including delete all my service books and now there is nothing in the host routing table. They finally said, we cant help. My phone is stuck on lower case edge and I cant get data.

View 8 Replies View RelatedHas a Storm and it just shut off on. When I pull the battery, the red light comes on for a few seconds and the screen and buttons light up. Then, it starts over. 20 minutes later and it's still in that same cycle.
It's rocking Verizon's official 5.0 and she doesn't do anything to modify or hack it. I've never encountered this before.
I'm wondering if the OS became corrupt, but we're @ Red Lobster and there's nothing I can do now.
