BB Software :: Core Applications Lost During Update?
Oct 6, 2010
using the desktop manager for Mac, i updated my Bold 9000 from device software 4.6 to 5.0.it said the software had installed successfully - but now MemoPad, Calendar, Tasks, Files, Ringtones, the Pictures folder, Voice Notes, Videos all fail to load.they all produce an error message that begins 'Error starting net_rim_bb... ... not found.' oh, and when i try to use the camera, it hangs the device
I have the torch 9800 and whenever I connect it to my computer and use the blackberry software to backup everything and update my apps it always says I need to update the core applications so I just do what it says to do, anyways I'm just wondering if that's normal to have to update the core applications every time I connect it, or is that not normal.
My software for a blackberry curve 9300. I need to update the core applications and the system software but I dont know how to do so. Do I do it by my desktop or device?
Device Memory Total Space: 859.2 MB Free Space: 858.8 MB
Media Card Total Space: 1.8 Free Space: 1.2
Any ideas on how to free up application memory? I have the usual google mobile suite, facebook, yelp, pandora, bolt applications. Can I move over some media card memory to application memory?

After doing the 9700 OS upgrade ever time i sync the phone it tells me there is a core update to v 5.0.0 but the version i have seems to be higher than this. When i look it says the the prefered version is the lower one. Is there any way of removing this box? I read in a thread that you can delete the version from your PC but i dont know what or where to look.
yesterday i set my storm on the dock to my computer, started up dm. an update on my core applications 5.0 was available so i proceeded with the update. now all of those pushed icons for bing, my verizon, Internet, etc. keep popping up without a reboot! anyone else come across this?before the update i would remove these icons in my service books and they wouldn't pop up until after a reboot. since this latest update the icons pop up every half hour or so. very annoying to say in the least!
i apologize, i know this has been discussed already but this is getting so ridiculous! verizon keeps telling me "there's nothing they can do".is there a way to go back and "un-do" this update? i know we can't permanently delete these pushed icons, only hide them.
After receiving a replacement Tour, I performed the device switch wizard, and all came through fine except...I no longer have the notepad icon, looked everywhere..."show all", options - > Applications -> All and I can't find it.I also can't find a setting for my phone, or desktop software that will allow me to accept meeting requests.

Before upgrade to Belle, I have some 30+ appllication installed in my C7 Anna. Surprisingly, After upgrade to Belle, many of applications were missed. I have to reinstall all those applicaitons again.
Is this due to some problem during Belle upgrade or is it expected that all existing applications will be erased after upgrade?

Seems like my boyfriend managed to delete the "Chat" icon on my Nokia E5 last night. Its the icon with a little yellow speech bubble on top of a bigger white speech bubble, the one that shows on the home screen. As I've lost this icon I cant use msn messenger. How can I get it back? I am sure it was there before as I used it and managed to log on to msn messenger.
I've checked updates with NSU & installed the Anna 2/2 but that only gave me Microsoft Communicator. After the hard reset I restored all my files etc but that made no difference. How do I get Quickoffice & Adobe back?
My mobile is a Nokia N8. I recently updated Phone Apps, I'm not very technical so I followed all prompts asked of me. It advised to restart my phone which I did. When the phone restarted, I lost 3months worth of pictures, my profiles (general, silent etc) were reset but still had messages in my inbox, and god knows what else I haven't noticed yet.I must note also that I received text messages from O2, my service provider. They said, message 1 "you'll receive settings for our phone to allow you to easily access O2's great services". Message 2 "Select Save from Options to configure all settings". I followed these messages. I contacted O2 who advised it was nothing to do with them!!! Not one bit helpful either.
I'm completely new to Nokia. I have 2 nokia e71 for me and my wife. I had trouble starting the ovi store so decided to reinstall it. Later it wouldn't start at all. Going through both phones, I realized that I was Missing 11 files in the installations folder. The phone works except for the ovi store but I don't want to run into problems later because of missing files. They are Nokia Ovi Provisioner, Open C Glibrary, Open C libssl, Symbian os pipes, Symbian os pips, Symbian os stdioser, Open C libssl common, pips installer, ovi Store Launcher and ovi store client. How do I reinstall all this stuff? Where do I find it?
I am unable to download the 6.0.0 Core application. The Blackberry Desktop states my phone is up-to-date. But in the application section it says I need to update my Core Application.

I have a very big problem about 8310, as for a sudden I have lost my email application with no reason and I couldn't receive send email at all. I have contacted my service provider and they have helped me to check in many methods that would help to fix this even check my IEMI and Pin number in Canada and there was nothing wrong with it. Today I double checked in every application and I found I have no certificates details at all compare to the other BB.
I start to check this because it seems my provider doesnt recognize my emei and pin number. I have tried many times to delete email setting and reset. I couldn't even add the pin and emei number, it's always showned 'Invalid Pin and Emei' please contact your service device. Btw, I have been using it for 4 months only
Since apple didn't bring anything new to the table with 4.0, that the other "phones" don't already have; They better throw a dual core in the new iPhone to get ahead of the competition.
i have had my Xoom since it first came out and think that it is still one of the best tablets out there. Unfortunately lately I have been noticing that when I go to power it on that it will occassionally freeze on the "dual core" screen. It's not every time but more than I like.
