Just got my new S5 few days ago, SM-G900F.No issues till now, working perfectly. my concern is about cpu-z results.it keeps saying 2 of my cores are not working (Stopped).actually it work for a 2 sec when am launching cpu-z then its stopped.is it a bug, something should i be worry about? or thats the way the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 works (i mean a sleep mode to save battery life)?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter doing the 9700 OS upgrade ever time i sync the phone it tells me there is a core update to v 5.0.0 but the version i have seems to be higher than this. When i look it says the the prefered version is the lower one. Is there any way of removing this box? I read in a thread that you can delete the version from your PC but i dont know what or where to look.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I am hoping to catch on as time goes by. As like many people, this is my first smart phone and it's all so new. LOL I do have an ipod touch, but they are very different set up wise, but at least I'm not completely void of technology. I have had it for only a few days and am pleasantly surprised with how easy it is to understand the "basics," like changing themes, ringtones, setting up email, downloading apps, hiding apps, moving items around the menu, making a call, browsing the web (although I get very annoyed with this as my ipod touch is SO fast- oh well), syncing to my contacts, using the camera, saving pics, playing music etc... For a newb like me, I'm happy to be able to all that! I am very happy with this Curve as my introduction to the BB world! HOWEVER- being this is more machine on a phone than I am used to, I am bit concerned with keeping it uncluttered, maintenance (IE breaking it), etc...
I have the standard 2GB micro sd card that came with it from sprint, but I have a brand new 16GB micro SHDC card I want to put in. I know where it goes, I know I have to remove the battery, etc.My question is: "DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING TO THE PHONE TO PREP IT FOR THIS?" I have looked through the web and found various answers, have learned quickly that Crackberry is the most knowledgeable and the nicest! I have downloaded a few ringtones, but I don't get where they are being stored and how to find out where they are being stored (same goes with themes, pics and wallpapers). I assume they go to my built in phone memory and not my sd card?
Also- since being a mac user, there is not too much I need to do maintenance wise (I have programs that clean up and free space for me, etc.), nor do I have to turn it off often. However, are there certain things I should be doing to this Curve on a daily/weekly basis? I know to close all apps when not using them, as to not drain the battery, and to not have wifi on when not needed, etc... but do I need to shut it off? Am I making sense here? Well, thanks so much you guys are great and fast! I would appreciate a link (if this has already been answered- sorry ) or just a simple answer! I usually ask my husband about this stuff, but I seem to understand more than him! LOL
yesterday i set my storm on the dock to my computer, started up dm. an update on my core applications 5.0 was available so i proceeded with the update. now all of those pushed icons for bing, my verizon, Internet, etc. keep popping up without a reboot! anyone else come across this?before the update i would remove these icons in my service books and they wouldn't pop up until after a reboot. since this latest update the icons pop up every half hour or so. very annoying to say in the least!
i apologize, i know this has been discussed already but this is getting so ridiculous! verizon keeps telling me "there's nothing they can do".is there a way to go back and "un-do" this update? i know we can't permanently delete these pushed icons, only hide them.
was stock 3.2 and today when i turned it on i was stuck at DC screen. Found stock img on moto dev site. Flashed stock 3.0 and that booted up fine, thought i was safe, went to do auto update to 3.1 . Download and install went fine, when it rebooted it would not boot up again. I'm back stuck at the dual.core logo

I recently updated the Core Application software on my 9800. The version is now 6.0.0.668, bundle 2949. When I go into the email setup, because since the update I've been receiving no email, I am presented with a list of the email addresses which I have used in the past on the device and I'm asked to verify the passwords for the various accounts. However when I put in a password for any of the accounts I always get the same response 'Sorry, unable to continue your session. Please log in again'. This is always the response whether it's a POP3, IMAP or webmail account. I have checked that there should be add and delete options in the menu but all that is available are Switch App and Close. I have also looked at a number of backups but do not have any option to restore email settings.

According to GSAM, the culprit is Android Core Apps. Not sure what that is. I thought maybe Netflix was still downloading, but that's not Android Core Apps.

I having trouble with the fingerprint ID! It will not work for me at all! Have to use the backup password about 99%!
I have an iPhone 6S and on the first setup of Touch ID; it works about 99.9% of the time! Not sure why the S6 is not working but I going to contact Samsung and see what they say! Not happy at all with the fingerprint scanner not functioning at all! Brand new phone too!
I spend about 2 hours and did all my fingers on my right hand and it just will not recognize any of them! I even clean my right hand with orange peel soap to get all the oils out of my hand and dry it with air until it was dry as can be but still no luck with the ID!

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to talk on speakerphone, people tell me they can barely hear me. Sometimes my voice is clear, other times it sounds like I am muffled or far away. A phone case is not in the way, nor is the microphone clogged. The phone has done this since I bought it 5 months ago.
I am able to use the voice recorder and can be heard fine.Samsung told me to do a complete reinstall of the phone. I do not want to back everything up and risk losing data as I have syncing issues with my mac.
I'm using a Verizon Galaxy S5 running Lollipop, version 5.0. I recently performed a factory reset because the Lollipop update was completely ruining my phone, and still is. In the past few days, my mic has been acting up. I'll call someone or they'll call me, and they can't hear me at all. Speakerphone doesn't work, and neither does a headset. The mic still works, I've tested it using voice recorder and have no problems. Sometimes it randomly works, but 95% of the time it doesn't work. I tried restarting, pulling the battery, wiping cache partition, all to no avail. It worked in safe mode, but once I reinstalled one app, it stopped working again, and didn't start working after I deleted that one app and rebooted. I've had nothing but problems with Lollipop, and now I can't even use my phone anymore. I've also disabled Google Now voice recognition, noise cancellation, and voice privacy, still no luck

If someone calls and I don't answer, it plays a tone, then says the mobile user is not available. I thought if I tried calling voicemail it would let me set up my voicemail again. It didn't. It just told me I didn't have a voicemail. Does the S5 have a different way you go about setting up voicemail? Or do I need to just contact my carrier?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter the upgrade to lollipop 5.11, my "back" and "recent/menu" buttons do not work. The do not light, nor do they do anything. I've tried the recommended display and power setting fixes, but they do not fix my phone. I've also done a factory reset, but the problem is still there, even in safe mode. Several apps I use a lot are now totally unusable because they don't have their own back and menu keys. Is there any answer outside of downgrading to 5.0?

Since the initial flash the scanner has not worked. Currently using the latest unikernal, though was using a different one when I first flashed. TWRP latest too.
When I try *#0* and try the sensor test I see "unfortunately, hwmoduletest has stopped working" lTrying to utilise the scanner will always show "an error has occurred with the fingerprint sensor, if this message appears repeatedly please restart your device" though restarting has never worked. I have not tried going back to stock as my carrier rom is 5.0.2 still.
I have the TMobile S6 variant that I've had for about 6 months or so and noticed a few weeks back that that auto brightness does not work. it stays very very low even in very bright settings, I always have to go in a manually change th3 screen brightness. Is there a fix for this in an update or something because I seem to be the only one with an S6 having the issue although it has been reported for the Edge only.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo when I just got the phone I set up the Peel remote app and had it working great. After I got all my other apps setup the way I usually do, I found my IR blaster no longer worked no matter which remote app I tired, not even the Peel app which worked at first.
By using another camera, I realized the IR led was not even firing when a remote button was pressed although the notification led would flash the usual blue. After awhile I finally figured out it was tasker causing this. With tasker disabled, the IR blaster worked just like it should but the instant I enabled tasker it would stop working.
I value tasker more than the IR blaster but it would be very ideal if both worked...
