BB Pearl :: After OS6 Upgrade Appworld & Protect Don't Work?
Mar 23, 2012I have just upgraded my software via the internet to OS6 and although the new software is awesome, my app world won't open. When I click on the icon, the phone freezes. I have installed and uninstalled... inserted and re-inserted the battery many times. I have also tried to install an earlier version.
Also my protect gives me the following message: "Error starting net_rim_bb_dryad gui: Symbol 'Security.device Under Attack' not found."
And finally when I am typing in BBM or anywhere else I get a text imput error message. Murphy's law it's not coming up now when I want to post this. I love my BB but I want to be able to use all the services offered. My line of work depends on my phone working properly.
BB Pearl :: Can't Update Apps Through Appworld On Desktop
Feb 10, 2011I've BB Pearl 9100 with OS 6.0.0.723. I'm trying to update/nstall the Apps through desktop but whenever I try to do that I receive a message "Content protection is enabled on the device
But the content protection is disabled in Options -> Security -> Encryption (Device memory & Media card both are diabled for encryption). I've disabled all the options over there but still I'm getting this weird message which is not letting me update my Apps.
BB Pearl :: Setup Emails On 8520
Dec 29, 2011I'm trying to setup emails on my Blackberry Curve 8520. I have a Yahoo account.In the Email Setup" I only have the option "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Sever", but I don't have the option "I want to create or add an email address".

I've seen hreads about you needing a dataplan and what ever, does that mean if I don't have that I can't use the email function?I would think it would be able to synk with windows live mail but no. Sense outlook no longer exist its only able to synk my contacts I have.

I recently installed Apple's icloud on my PC, linking Outlook 2010 with my iPad. Prior to this I would sync my Blackberry with Outlook. Now that I have icloud installed, Outlook has another account, icloud.I understand I can only sync one Outlook account with my Blackberry, via the Blackberry desktop software. I've gone into the Organizer> Configure settings> Advanced, and try to map the folder associated with icloud. When I go to click on the expand box (plus sign), I get an error box that comes up:Runtime error Error Encountered. Error code 0x80043bea. Check documentationI have no way to now sync my blackberry with my other devices which are now sync'ed with Outlook via icloud.

Nov 11, 2012I have a Blackberry 8230 that won't turn on. When the battery is charged, the red light flashes very slowly (about 10 seconds on, 10 seconds off). When I plug the USB cable into the computer, I see the BB hard drive for a brief second or two, then it disappears. It will appear briefly again about 20 seconds later, then disappear again. Is the battery shot? Or could there be something else going on? The phone was on the charger all night.

May 14, 2011I bought my first BlackBerry (Curve 3G 9300) on Friday and tried to setup a personal email account on the phone via the setup wizard earlier today.The phone said that an update to 6.11...... was needed in order to do this. I let it update, now the phone is just hanging after starting up. If I do a start up after removing the battery it comes up with a black screen with the BlackBerry logo and a progress bar below it. The progress bar moves along until the end, this takes around a minute. It then shows something like a little clock over the logo for about a second. Once this disappears the phone says with the logo and the completed progress bar - and just hangs there.

After reactivation, I tried to set up email so she could check her Hotmail, but the setup wizard only shows one option - enterprise email through Exchange. I know when I use to use the Storm myself, I had both Hotmail and a POP email account set up with no problems. Is this a device issue or a carrier issue? I had Bell activate the Storm on a minimal (200MB) BlackBerry data plan and the phone seems to work fine (as a phone, at least!)

May 14, 2012I can access the appworld on my 9900, but if I go to download anything then it asks for my ID and password which it won't accept. It just says "Unable to log into your Blackberry Account". I know the ID and password are ok as I can login fine on both my laptop and playbook.

Aug 22, 2011I'm trying to use the Appworld on my Curve 8530, but I want it to only use the WiFi (I just have the Blackberry Social plan with Koodo with no data plan).
Right now, I've connected my phone to my router (a Netgear WNR1000 v2) using WPA2-PSK [AES] encryption and the PSK. Both the Router and the Phone say that they are connected, the router assigned it an IP addy (192.168.X.X), the phone says its connected but on the manage connections screen, there is no green check next to WiFi (only a square with a white line through it).
When I try turning off the mobile connection and only use WiFi I get the following:
"You do not have sufficient wireless coverage or your connection to the wireless network is turned off" I don't want to run the risk of getting overage charges with my provider
Seriously, why can't they just have the Appworld run in the desktop software, and when you sync the phone, it updates the software you download.
