View 6 Replies View RelatedFor reasons unknown, after shutting off my phone (I suppose it was a forced shutoff, since the webpage I was viewing had frozen), my Galaxy SII now refuses to go past the splash page/start-up screen, that says "SAMSUNG GALAXY SII". The text will display for about 5 seconds, then the screen will go black for about five seconds, then it will redisplay the text for five seconds, in a never-ending loop.
The phone will charge, and if I turn it off then plug it in I get the standard picture of a charging battery. If I plug the phone in my laptop, the laptop does not recognize that it is plugged in, though the phone does charge.
I've tried getting access to the recovery menu, but I can't seem to get to it - once I push the power button, it enters the splash page loop. The only thing that will end the loop is removing the battery.
I have no idea what I've done to force it into this loop, but it's extremely inconvenient.

Ever since then my phone will show the Blackberry loading screen, then the red LED flashed for a few seconds and then it does it all over again. I left the battery out all night it did not help. DM shows no PIN connected because it obviously isn't booted.

But it has rebooted while I was unholstering to read a BBM Message, while I was reading email, once while I was using Docs to Go....Very irritating! I originally thought it was my theme because I have NEVER had good luck with themes on this phone, but removed it and still issues! I have 37403473 bytes free before the battery pull and after replacement i have 38160293 bytes free after replacement. the applications i have are verizon backup assistant, BB core app, BB system software, BB app world, BB attachment service,japanese characters, korean characters, maps. BBM, simplified chinese, traditional chinese, brickbreaker, browser, documents to go, ethink memory, email setup, facebook, memo pad, myverizon, password keeper, phone and tasks.I do not know what a bt model/version is.
My problem is that I cannot make phone calls. my phone will say connected and the person's phone will ring but when the call is 'connected' neither one can hear the other. the only time i can make phone calls is after a battery replacement, if i have the phone plugged in i may be able to answer for up to an hour, but with it just sitting off the plug it may only be minutes. but it does not disconnect phone calls, i can be on the phone for an hour, without being plugged in and i can continue with the call.

The phone is not rooted and it's also S-On so I'm not sure if there's a way of flashing the stock android from Verizon back onto it especially without the ability to plug it into a computer ( doesn't do much good without USB Debugging I believe)...

View 11 Replies View RelatedI bought an unlocked Blackberry Curve off of eBay, put my AT&T SIM card in it, and it worked great for about two weeks. Then I ignorantly downloaded a "free theme" and about a week after this, my Blackberry started freezing whenever I would go to make a phone call, the screen just goes black and it freezes until the hourglass comes up and the phone turns back on in about two minutes. Also, if someone tries to call me, my phone will do the exact same thing and they will go straight to voicemail. I have removed all the applications from my phone and done my best to wipe the entire system, but it still freezes whenever I try to make phone calls. It has pretty much stopped freezing at any other times besides when I am attempting to make phonecalls now so there is a slight improvement. Is there any way I can redownload the operating software (even though the phone is unlocked) or what else would be advised that I do?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my fantastic Nexus 5 for some time now, and up until the Android 6 update I have had no crash issues at all. It may be coincidence, but since the update a couple days ago my phone has crashed three times, and with the last crash it will not boot past the colored symbols. In fact it will cycle the symbols without end at times, but sometimes it will cycle them for 30 seconds or so and then crash back to the black screen then to "Google" followed by the colored symbol screen. Rinse and repeat.
I have tried full shut off and re-start by holding down the power button and that does nothing new. I read on these forums a suggestion for a Nexus 4 user back in July to try holding down the power button and tapping the up volume once to pull up some options, but that seems to do nothing. Perhaps I am doing it at the wrong time though.
I read that Marshmallow handles permissions differently, so I wonder if it has to do with my third-party launcher. Though it seems strange that I was able to (until today) use my phone just fine between crashes for several days after the update.

Then i installed Pure Nexus rom and it was working fine. Then i installed Elemental X kernal, didn't change anything from stock options other than double tap 2 wake, and it would stay forever in the boot animation. Not a boot loop, but the animation with the circles.
So i figured, i had a TWRP backup from before i rooted and all that and restored from that, still same never ending boot animation
EDIT::: I unchecked selinux enforcing but i still get the same issue. I noticed when trying to restore from recovery it would reboot when trying to flash the system, and that it would not be able to flash the system while trying to install pure nexus rom.
