BB Curve :: 8520 Phone Locked After Downloading Theme And Rebooting
Apr 8, 2011
i have downloaded a theme from blackberry app onto my curve 8520, done everything it has told me to and rebooted when requested... but now my phone is locked and can not get into it... have taken to battery out to see if there is any change but there isn't and now i don't know what to do.
My phone has locked up whilst downloading an app, I have tried a soft and hard reset and the phone wont connect to my computer, the desktop animation in the background is working though, can anyone tell me how to reset my phone?
I downloaded a theme OTA and I can't find it anywhere. It said it was for the 8520 OS 4.6, my phone said it was downloaded successfully but it's missing. It shows up on my applications list but not with my themes. I've checked every folder and nook and cranny. I've even restarted my phone. I wouldn't say I'm a BB pro or anything, but I'm fairly experienced so I've tried the obvious things.
My daughter was downloading a new 'theme' from an APP. It asked her to reboot and she selected 'now'. She now has a box frozen at the front of her screen and even taking the battery out has no effect.
I bought a used Lumia 1520 from Amazon a few days ago...been using WP8.1, no problems, so I went ahead and installed the latest Windows 10 Mobile preview last night.
Everything worked fine for about 6 hours, and then the phone started going into endless rebooting loops. About 3 hours ago, it finally booted up, and there was a message on the screen that said "This phone has been locked for security reasons. Please connect to a power source for 2 hours and try restarting".
So I've had it plugged in for the last 3 hours, and now it refuses to boot up at all. When I do the soft reset button combo, the phone vibrates like it's restarting, but then...nothing.
So, I guess I've got two questions:
1. Did Windows 10 Mobile brick my phone, or is it more likely that there was something wrong with the phone from the get go? 2. What additional things I might try for recovery? I have downloaded the Windows Phone Recovery Tool, but without the device powering on, it's basically bupkis.
I have a Curve 8520. I installed a new theme today. It was the Beautiful Sunset in motion theme. Since then, when my phone reboots, the theme with its moving water appears, but nothing else works on the phone. None of the keys work and the screen display, other than the moving water, is frozen too. I have tried taking out the battery, waiting and then rebooting. All that happens is that the theme returns, and is stuck again. I have attached it to my laptop, but the Blackberry Desktop Software can't connect with the phone. I tried the "Start Run" App Loader, but got a message telling me the "Location is not available".
my question is about the calander. I had a 8330 and my daily reminders showed up on the home screen, but i chandged to the 8520 last week and it doesnt have that option. With the 8330 i had to change the theme, but with the 8520 i only have 1 theme option. Can i download a theme that not only changes the colors and stuff of the BB, but give me that option. i hope the question is clear.
i have curve 8520 ,,, i go to sleep and my phone was working when i wake up i found that is no charge in the phone i charg it but it keep booting on 0% and it reboot again and i can't open the phone i search in the froum
My 8520 has been a great phone for the last 9 months now it has started rebooting itself and there has been occassions when all I have is a black screen with a red cross
My phone keeps rebooting itself out of nowhere. it isnt because of me updating my os as i have done that a long time ago. its happens for no good reason, and honestly it sucks having to wait for it to reboot. anyone know how to fix this? i already tried battery pulls too.
My curve 8520 stops rebooting 75% of the way through and this has been left freezed, i try to used the desktop manager and doesn't detect my device. this problem come when i was updated the blackberry twitter. I went to a store and the blackberry technical said the problem it's a chip inside the device. i think thats not true.
So i got a blackberry 2 days ago and thought i would get blackberry app world. So i downloaded it, it told me there was an error about java script or something like that. Then it say to finish downloading blackberry app world i have to reboot it. When i clicked reboot it went straight to a black screen! And it stayed lke this for the rest of the night, until morning. The red light keeps on flashing but when i try to turn it on, it wont.
My Curve 8520 gets stuck about 60% through the rebooting process! I have removed the batterty about 20 times and it still just reboots up to about 60% and get stuck there. There is no error messages, I have connect it to the pc, its being picked up but doesn't allow you to actually get any info on my phone.
I have had my 8520 for about 18 months and it has worked fine. Recently, I downloaded an app from app world and then all strange things started to happen. (I am not sure if the problem is related). It would freeze with a white screen or just go black and if I try to reboot it will start up and then freeze again. at first It will only reboot properly if plugged into my desktop. I tried restoring the OS and that didnt help. Now, if it is plugged into the pc or wall charger it just keeps rebooting over and over. The phone works when it wants and sometimes it doesnt. It doesnt work for a whole day.
I have a blackberry curve 8520 and it is not rebooting. I was sitting in my mates car and me blackberry just died so till I got home and plug but it fell and it is nor rebooting I took the battery out and placed it back in and it is trying to reboot but it switches off.
I was doing a reboot on my blackberry, as it was booting, at about 70% it just stops. I tried to connect it to the BB desktop manager so that I can try to update the device software, but it only connects to my pc when the battery is removed, when I put the battery back in, it disconnects then switches itself on, loads up till about 70%, then stops. I even tried leaving it the entire night with hope that it will get through that stage, but it still wont budge. I tried downgrading the OS to v4.6.1 but the phone doesn't switch on at all. So I upgraded back to v5.0.0 and it still gives me the same problem.
I have a blackberry 8520. My BB suddently start uo again and it keeps rebooting and it wont turn on completely. It wont turn on, and it keeps it doing it, on, and on.
My phone is on this weird state now that it freezes and nothing happens, not even the little watch comes out and so I have to reboot it. But when I do, I have to use it non stop doing whatever for about 3 hours or so, not being able to leave it alone because if I do, even for a minute it will freeze all over again and the process will start over. But also, sometimes when I reboot it, it doesn't being to reboot. It just stays with the screen shut off and eventually the little red light would turn on and off but nothing else will happen. I left it in that state for about 10 hours and nothing.Right now it has been frozen for almost an hour, Ive had to reboot it about 25times today and I´m beginning to give up and getting scared for my phone.
Yesterday evening I updated my blackberry curve 8520, it then needed re booting and since then it has frozen, the screen and the keys? Was working perfectly before with no problems. I have taken battery/sim card out but still nothing. I have also tried to use my blackberry desktop but it is still trying to connect.
Have just acquired a Blackberry, and am a little lost. I hoped to be able to download from [URL] as with my previous - far simpler - mobile. The instructions on that site indicate that Blackberry Curve isn't supported. Would a microSD media card
My blackberry 8520 has been working for a long time now and I have downloaded an app called kik. Ever since I downloaded it my phone is not working. My signal is still coming through but I cannot receive anything. I press any button and still nothing works, it just comes up with the front page! I've been told to do a reset without taking my battery out and I've tried doing that and taking the battery out and nothing has happened. I've even tried looking for a reset button as I've been told there is one but I cannot even find that!
Using Windows 8 and Blackberry Curve 8520 connected to PC by USB cable..After downloading Desk Top Software to the PC the Desk Top Software Screen continues to show "Disconnected" at bottom right hand corner. The Help screen Support Resources states no Blackberry Device Software installed on your computer. Have tried software update with same result.
So a few weeks ago my blackberry stopped working. I was on it one day on bbm and it died so when I got home I charged it up then went to turn it on but after 2 seconds of the rebooting screen a battery with a red cross appeared giving me the indication my battery was low I let the rebooting process continue but at about three quarters of the way through it froze, so I pulled the battery out after leaving it too freeze for over an hour and carried on doing that. It didn't work a few weeks later I tried it again it worked but then today it ran out of charge and when I tried to turn it on it does the same thing even know I have 100% charge as my other blackberry (which can only use facebook for some reason) said I had 100% in the status option screen.
I am having a problem downloading at blackberry site due to content protection. It says that I should first disable the content protection so that I could download from the site.
