Using Windows 8 and Blackberry Curve 8520 connected to PC by USB cable..After downloading Desk Top Software to the PC the Desk Top Software Screen continues to show "Disconnected" at bottom right hand corner. The Help screen Support Resources states no Blackberry Device Software installed on your computer. Have tried software update with same result.

I have a new Blackberry Curve 8520. I have been trying to download the desktop software. First, I put in the CD into the disk drive, but it did not read the desktop software off there. I then attempted to download it from the AT&T Blackberry website. An InstallShield appeared and after several minutes it said that the software was installed and that if it did automatically appear on the screen I should open it up from the start menu under programs. Unfortunately, I did not see the program listed in the start menu.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to sync my BB with my desktop software. I was advised the only way i could get music on my BB was to take the memory card out the phone use an adapter to put music on then put the memory card back in BB.
Surely when i connect my BB to my laptop with the desktop software on it, i should be able to see the music and pictures that are on my phone, or should i not??
I have gone into the options menu on the screen and had a look at my memory, and it is telling me "Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is properly inserted, formatted and not corrupted".
I have also made sure that Mass Storage support is on, along with Media Card Support, but i still cant see anything.
I have a BlackBerry Curve 8330 and I really wanted to download V5.0 for it! So I attempted to update it from the web page and then it would open up my BlackBerry desktop manager and only offer 4.5. I thought that it was compatible with 8330's... Is it not? Did I read it incorrectly?

My signal is still coming through but I cannot receive anything. I press any button and still nothing works, it just comes up with the front page! I've been told to do a reset without taking my battery out and I've tried doing that and taking the battery out and nothing has happened. This causes backup to run every time I connect instead of weekly like I have it setup. If I do a manual sync the date updates but if I do a manual backup the date stays unchanged. I'm running desktop 6.0.0.43 and OS 5.0.0.886. Does anyone know how to cure this problem?
View 4 Replies View Relatedmy wifes 8530 we just did the BB App World upgrade. Now we can't see or find the icon to open and use it. After being on the phone with Verizon for a while they contacted BB and this is what I was told to do.
-Download BB desktop manager on my computer
-Backup all data from the phone
-Do a hard reset which will delete all data from the phone
-Reinstall all data from desktop manager back to phone and then the icon should appear
When I try to sync the contact list from outlook I get the error "unable to read application Data". I can sync my calendar, tasks and memos from Outlook, but for some reason I have problems with the contacts.

I've missed something in the instructions but I cannot seem to fathom out how to download my photos to out desktop, phone is connected by USB cable etc etc, but I can't see what to do next.

I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
Does anyone know when the OFFICIAL 5.0 update for tmobile comes out, i see the leaked versions online but I don't want to risk it. Right now I'm running.

Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.
