I have found a solution to the problem in the Blackberry Knowledge Base but in order to use it they want me to provide IMEI number which is obtained from the options page of the device. This is impossible because it keeps rebooting and you can't get into the options page.

But it has rebooted while I was unholstering to read a BBM Message, while I was reading email, once while I was using Docs to Go....Very irritating! I originally thought it was my theme because I have NEVER had good luck with themes on this phone, but removed it and still issues! So now I'm looking at BBM being the culprit but I wasn't sure if I could pinpoint the problem somehow? like using alt+lglg and finding the error in the java log? To bad I can't read jibberish! I saw a similar problem on another phone and the wiped the device and reloaded really don't wanna do that! BTW, I have not installed any new apps or updates in almost a month otherwise I'd point to that!

Jul 16, 2010I just downloaded the new OS when I plugged my phone to the computer... it sounded like a good idea to upgrade everything but I do not like how the UNlock function is only through the mute button now. I mean, if I wanted to just lock/unlock my phone that way with the push of only one button, I could use the standby (mute) button and press on it again to unlock it before. I really liked the previous version where you had to take the extra step of pushing two buttons (A and Send) to unlock it. Because I unlock my phone by accident a lot when it's in my purse and I reach for something and accidentally press the top button (mute button). Any ideas if Blackberry is planning on a new OS version soon that would restore the old locking/unlocking system? I do not necessarily want to downgrade to a previous OS version but I might have to as the "easy" one-button only unlocking option is not working for me.

Jul 27, 2010I updated my phone the other day with the v5.0.0.734 OS. It wiped out everything. I had to go back and restore my contacts, reload ringtones and apps, etc. Got everything back the way it was now.
I have three email accounts synced to it. All are active, Wi-fi on, network on. New mail isn't showing up on my handset, only from my gmail account, the hotmails aren't showing up. Used to be you could look in the folder for each email account and see what emails were there, then there was one folder that showed all of them. What am I missing?

Apr 15, 2012My BB won't connect to webages. I try typing in address and try using google, neither one works. At the top is says, for example, www.mfacebook.com t starts to search it and load it but once the bar is full it does nothing and the screen is blank. I checked out connections and there is a green checkmark to the left of WiFi but then in the box it just has a white line. Is there something wrong with the phone? I took out the battery and it still doesn't work. how do I make sure everything on my phone is updated? Everytime I ever plug it in to the PC, it ALWAYS says "there are no updates" which seems odd? It's a Curve 8530 andI have had it for a year and a half.
