does anyone know how to really sort out places in facebook? i know the 8250 doesnt have gps but it should still work using cell site location..i can get my location using google maps using cell site so i know my phones cell site works, but dont understant why it wont work in Facebook.

I have version 5.0 updated on my device and I have recently upgraded my Facebook application, my friends have the exact same phone as me and their Facebook places are now working... but when I try to "Check in" on my device it says No GPS Support, Your device does not support location servives. To use Facebook Places, a device with buillt-in location services is required. How come my friends have it and I don't?

View 3 Replies View RelatedFacebook places was working fine on my device, but now it wont show my proper location on the facebook places map when i'm at home....when im out at other places it works fine, but i've never had this problem before as i used to be able to check in where i live...Blackberry maps show the right location but the facebook one dosn't....My facebook is up to date so i know thats not the problem.

I go to Settings then Options then Advance Options and I can only find Location Settings. I have paired my phone to same Blackberry 8520. Location Services is ON. Location Data is ENABLED. And one thing more, I cannot received files through bluetooth.

I've tried upgrading the fb but it says my device isn't compatible or something like that. I have a 8520 curve, everyone else i know who has the same phone and network 02 can use theirs and its frustrating that I cant use something simple on it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor the past week or so when i try and check in on facebook places on my blackberry bold 9780 its not been working, its always worked perfect until i tried about a week or so ago, and since then ive tried nearly everyday just to see if its working but no nothing, keeps coming up with facebook error 2002 try again later. It works fine, finds my location, asks me if i want to check in, i click on check in and thats when the error message comes up, so doesnt let me finally check in. I dont know if its since ive updated to the new facebook app, i dont always use places, just now and again ,but always has worked great, until when i tried a week ago, it wouldnt let me and hasnt since. Ive got my location settings ON on options and ive refreshed GPS ,tried it with wireless on and wireless off, in many different locations, reboot phone etc but nope still the same.

I have purchased this blackberry from Amazon last christmas and it has been out of use for 5 months now. I cannot even turn the device on now, it barely has the white screen anymore, it pops up for less than a minute, then the device turns itself off. View 2 Replies View RelatedA hard reset (remove the battery while the BB is on) seems to have worked. I say seemed since it has been reported on this board that it may return when the "service books" are updated...I'm new to BBs. I just purchased it today and against my better judgment installed FAcebook (FB). After getting a deluge of mindless drivel pushed to my new BB I decided FB was not coming near my BB again.So I found the icon - menu - delete. I restart the BB as instructed and to my surprise the icon is still there.I tried to move the icon into a folder but I don't know how to move it because the menu button does nothing when I select the icon and press menu.
And there are some FB messages too. I deleted the FB messages - when I check my messages it reports I have no messages in FB ... BUT there is a little FB icon at the top of the screen showing one message. This one message seems to be relic but I have no idea how to reset or delete it.I also tried the BB desktop software. It shows that it is uninstalled. There appears to be no way of deleting icon, moving the icon, or deleting the FB message indicator either.
