I just bought my Blackberry Curve 8520 3 weeks ago. I'm just wondering why I can't use Facebook Places. My cousin has also the same unit but she can use it. I go to Settings then Options then Advance Options and I can only find Location Settings. I have paired my phone to same Blackberry 8520. Location Services is ON. Location Data is ENABLED. And one thing more, I cannot received files through bluetooth.

I have version 5.0 updated on my device and I have recently upgraded my Facebook application, my friends have the exact same phone as me and their Facebook places are now working... but when I try to "Check in" on my device it says No GPS Support, Your device does not support location servives. To use Facebook Places, a device with buillt-in location services is required. How come my friends have it and I don't?

View 3 Replies View RelatedFacebook places was working fine on my device, but now it wont show my proper location on the facebook places map when i'm at home....when im out at other places it works fine, but i've never had this problem before as i used to be able to check in where i live...Blackberry maps show the right location but the facebook one dosn't....My facebook is up to date so i know thats not the problem.

I've tried upgrading the fb but it says my device isn't compatible or something like that. View 4 Replies View RelatedFor the past week or so when i try and check in on facebook places on my blackberry bold 9780 its not been working, its always worked perfect until i tried about a week or so ago, and since then ive tried nearly everyday just to see if its working but no nothing, keeps coming up with facebook error 2002 try again later. It works fine, finds my location, asks me if i want to check in, i click on check in and thats when the error message comes up, so doesnt let me finally check in. I dont know if its since ive updated to the new facebook app, i dont always use places, just now and again ,but always has worked great, until when i tried a week ago, it wouldnt let me and hasnt since. Ive got my location settings ON on options and ive refreshed GPS ,tried it with wireless on and wireless off, in many different locations, reboot phone etc but nope still the same.

This is a work phone and my colleague who has exactly the same Curve 8520 IS able to check in on facebook places with no problem at all. I do not believe that this is a "GPS" issue. I paired my husbands Torch 9800 to my curve via bluetooth and it now allows me to set location setting to the ON position but still am not able to check in.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI dropped my phone once or twice: whether this is the reason or not, now when I plug the phone charger in, every time I take it out it tells me there is something wrong with the disk.I finally reinstalled Blackberry manager on my MAC, and when I try to start working with the Blackberry it appears that it wants to reformat my disk; That is something I definitely DO NOT want to do since I have thousands of contacts on there.What can I do? PS I have a new Blackberry that i want to move this data to, but it is looking like it will be impossible. The last time I tried to sync or download with software on my MAC it killed my hard drive. My banks IT department said if I can access it via my PC using the same address and all comes up good, then I need to speak with my carrier. Knowing the tools I'll end up getting if I call Sprint, I figured someone here with a lot more intelligence than any CS might be able to point to the right direction. I'm sure it some security setting that I don't have right, just find it odd that I can get that far into the site with no issues.
