BB Curve :: Duplicate Letter Aaaa Appears While Typing
Mar 17, 2011it only happens with the letter a it come in between automatically.even it interfers in the BBM , emails and sms text.i got this mobile just 6 months ago.

Mar 22, 2010How can I make my Storm use the letter I instead of U when typing an SMS? I use the SureType setup and everytime I wasnt to put 'I' it automatically puts in 'U'.
If I dont' notice it, it can lead to some pretty confusing messages!
Can I stop this? God knows why it does it. I hate text speak so have no need for just the lonely random letter U!

Jul 9, 2011I just got the DX2 and have had it freeze on me when I'm typing on the keyboard. Initially, with the default keyboard settings, it would freeze on me whenever I put a space in between words after like the 3rd word typed. THEN, after removing the auto-correct function from the keyboard settings I solved that problem. Now, whenever I type a string of "!!!" or "..." it freezes the keyboard on me. The only way to get the phone back up is a reboot.
Secondly, I have received numerous duplicate text messages (as many as 7) of incoming texts from multiple different users in different areas of the country. I was in 3G coverage areas with excellent bars at the time so I'm not sure why this would happen. I also checked on this with my verizon bill and I'm being billed for these duplicate messages! NOT COOL.

Aug 26, 2010Today the letter A on my blackberry 8520 stopped working completely. when pressing either the letter Q or S it will come up as Qa or Sa . . It had happened once before but it appeared to fix itself after not being used for a few hours. I have read something about moisture on other forums and I feel this may be the answer but it only affects the letter A.

Mar 4, 2012The letter key "L" will not work when pressed, and seems like there is some sort of delay with that letter. Sometimes when it is pressed, it does compute the letter but multiple time and with about a 5 second delay. Most of the time it won't work at all.Now, the trackpad also does not work right. It will scroll up ,down,left, and right at home screen, but will not do any of that in the BB menu or apps like Facebook. I can use it properly in the viewing of scent calls and viewing of recent texts. But once I open a text I cannot scroll again.There is a way around all that, if I hold down the alt key I can scroll again, but of course my letter al is not working.

Aug 26, 2010hi just recently, the letter "a" on my 8520 wont respond and sometimes my trackpad will freeze on me. and if i leave any of my keys untouched for more than 20 seconds i would have to press down on a key to get a response from the phone. im running a .681 but ive only heard good things from it. any suggestions/ideas to whats causing the problem ?

There is a sort of dictionary in the device because I found word lists in Dutch/French/English but it doesn't seem to work when typing an SMS. Aug 16, 2010Me and my daughter both have the 8900 Blackberry. Mine is fine for a year and a half now.My daughter just received a free replacement for her broken one last week. It was probably refurbished because it was free. Anyway, when she types SMS text the letter O or E comes out after almost every keystroke. It's very fustrating. I had her re-boot, had her remove auto-text, etc. It's still happening.
Does anyone have a possible solution or is it a defective phone?

Aug 29, 2011app world pushed out a blackberry upgrade and after I installed it is when I started having this problem.Curve 9330 6.0 bundle 2333 (v6.0.0.524, platform 4.4.0.438)When I type, just stops recognizing anything and no buttons work, just freezes up... sometimes some in/out arrows in very top right corner before it clears out..... happens for 2-5 seconds most of the time (several times an hour) and few times a day upwards of 30-45 seconds each time.As I said, was good until installed appworld blackberry pushed out upgrade.

Sep 7, 2010I have duplicated contacts in my BB Curve 8900. The count given by BB is 1120 (my address book) but it seems it is more 3300 (3 times each). About 15 of them are not duplicated.It is synchronized with Lotus Notes with BES at the office (I think). All was perfect for many weeks. I install Desktop Manager at home and I twice export an ASCII file of my contacts to have them in Excel. Then my contacts were 2 times duplicated.
I try both solutions suggested on forums :
- RSET in Options on device : it wipes contacts and repopulate them later. But they were always present in the BB, even if in the options I can read Numbers :
- In Desktop Manager, Advanced option under Backup and Restore, I clear contacts (Address book, and Address book all) : databases show as empty with no records, but records are still there twice before repopulating. After that, each contact is present 3 times.
I have been looking for a solution on many forums without solving my problem even with many topics talking about it. I would like to remove all contacts from the address book and resync after.Anyone have any ideas about how to wipe Contacts that refuse to be wiped?

Feb 5, 2010I have recently had to reformat my 8900 and for some reason after setting up my gmail account i an receiving one copy of each email in my gmail folder and also recieving another copy of the same email in my messages folder. this means that i really am recieving 1 in the email folder and 2copies of the same email in the messages folder. i am using BIS and have tried deleting and re-adding the email account and also resending the service books. i tried looking around but couldn't see the same problem which makes me think it's something simple I'm missing. it's nothing to do with sent messages which i have no problems with.
