bb 8520 stopped working with a white screen and app error 523, as per the support forums I tried to connect the device to my laptop with BB desktop mngr ,the device is getting identified (in device mngr) ,but the desktop mngr goes into a loop showing initializing,I tried to connect my friends working bb8520 and it is connecting smoothly?
View 1 Repliesi installed the blackberry desktop software from the website . when i tried to initialize it for the first time i got a prompt which asked me to input the device password
now i'm assuming the device password is the same pwd that i use to unlock me device (and its the same pwd that i have to input every time i hook up my blackberry to my laptop)
so i'm entering that very same password but its giving me an incorrect pwd notification.
is there some other pwd that i'm supposed to configure on this ?
My Verizon Curve, 8330, has been going into a loop for the past two weeks with "Voice Dialing Initializing" showing up randomly.When I get out of it, it will soon pop up again.When this starts to happen, any outgoing calls I try to make will be instantly disconnected.The problem starts, sometimes, after receiveing a call--I can't hear the other party and then they can't hear me.When I hang up, the loop starts.I do have bluetooth on to automatically hook into my car when I am driving.I tried to fix the problem by upgrading the operating system from 4.5.77 to 4.5.175, but the problem is persisting. The button on the side is not set to activate voice dialing (I switched it shortly after I got the phone 18 months ago). Any suggestions would be appreciated--I do not want to have to remove VOD but if there is no other solution will have to. There is a discussion under the Pearl for this problem, but I do not see it discussed in the Curve area.

Whenever I plug my headphones to listen to music, or plug my line-out cord so I can listen in my car, it always prompts me to 'say a command'. While a minor setback, I find it annoying since it's never what I use it for.Anyway, is there a way to turn it off, or set it to automatically play music when plugged in?

When upgrading yesterday the process never finished. After 3 hours the status bar was still in the same place in the reboot phase. It seemed as if the entire computer was frozen. I couldn't do anything on it. I had to reboot the computer.Now when the phone comes on it freezes at the ATT screen. I am sure it is because the process didn't complete. How do I complete the process?

(This has happened before on another non-BB phone -- So I didn't think much of it) Then I tried to log in to the Yahoo Instant Messenger on the IM folder.Each one (MSN, YIM, AIM) gave me the error message of 'Service not Enabled for this Handheld device" I looked on Google, YES I do have a data plan, I went to my service provider about a different problem, (Close enough, it was about emails), and I DO have the Data plan.

My desktop software updated a few days ago (to 7.0.0.59).During synchronization of contacts, I get the error in the subject above.I have gone to the bb knowledge base here[URL] I have completely reset the device to factory defaults as described here - [URL].That much worked.I have restored from backup. Full backups. The restore completed successfully.Then I tried synchronization again. Failed again exactly as above. So I reset to factory defaults again and tried restoring from a different backup. Still failed in synchronization. I have also powered off and on. And removed the battery. Various combinations of all of the above. Before I throw this blackberry away and get something that works?My synch is attempting to synchronize only contact data. I have set it up only to try that. It's not trying to synchronize anything else. The contact data is being synchronized from my computer's contacts folder to the smartphone - one direction only. Computer contact list should always win. That's the configuration setting.I keep seeing this as well: "Content rights do not match the device. Please insert the media card back to the right device" (then an OK button below that). I have a media card all right, but I have not removed nor inserted it, nor changed it in any way.

View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently tried uploading new blackberry software (suggested by desktop manager) version 5.0 to my Jailbroken Verizon Storm 2, and in the middle of the uploading/upgrading the new software the screen turned white and this message appeared: Device Error: 367. Then below that, the word "Reset" is there but you cannot click it or do anything. The only way to get the screen to go away is to unattach the battery, but once you apply the battery back in, the white screen pops up with the same message. I tried sticking the usb/phone cord back in, but the software does not even recognize the phone anymore.
