View 4 Replies View RelatedHow do I know if I have a media card? I didn't buy one extra, but there is a little card in the back of my phone. Would one have come with it? I am trying to put music on my phone and am having a hard time and now I'm not sure I even have a media card. This is my first Blackberry and I have only had it about a month.
View 12 Replies View Relatedmy bb 8520 media card is not working,I had certain videos and songs, which got wiped off after scanning it.Now I wish to transfer the pictures and files to my PC , which is not possible.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my media card has become un-detected by my curve. It has worked fine for the past month or so that i've had it and now it's just disappeared. In Memory settings everything is switched to 'On' but the handset doesn't want to recognise the card for some reason. I took it out and put it back in and got nothing, did a soft recent by pulling the battery and still nothing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently bought my girlfriend a 8520 Curve. Not even a week later she told me that she had uploaded 40 songs onto it and only 6 where showing when she went to her music player. I couldn't find anything on the actual phone, so plugged it into my computer. There I found that the BlackBerry folder on the media card was hidden. I tried going properties unhide, which work on all the other folders, but it didn't work.

I know they are there because i did a hard reset and pulled the battery, also removed the media card, when it scanned i saw it show all the ringtones then watched em all come off. how can i fix this to be able to view them?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a blackberry 8520. I started having a problem with my memory card recently. When I connect my phone to my computer I can transfer music and pictures to my memory card. But once I disconnect it, I can't get anything i.e. the music folder is empty as well as the picture folder&video folder. I've formatted my memory card, and redid the process and still its the same problem. Taken my phone apart still the same problem. And I've checked and in my settings it says my memory card is inserted even shows how much space I have left etc. I can't even store any pics I take or see them on my phone I can't even rename them cause it tells me that operation isn't allowed on a read only file. I've checked my settings and its setting is everything must be saved to my memory card even changed the amount or size of pics. Even changed the type of pictures that can be taken from super fine to normal.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOnly device memory and built-in-media storage are detected. I do not know why it doesn't read my media card even though it is inserted properly. I tried my media card in my pc and it works perfectly fine. I already did the security wipe method, reboot method, upgraded my OS(OS Level Method), cleaning the media card, formatting my media card and almost everything I read, I've done it but still it won't be read. I already go asked someone what could be the problem and he said my media card(where you put it) seems to be okay... He too can't identify what is wrong with it. I tried sandisk media card once but still same result assuming that BB is too picky with media card but still it cannot be read/recognized...I am too sad because i cannot enjoy my torch because i don't want to use my built-in memory storage for my entertainment....

View 3 Replies View RelatedIve got my 8100 with a 2gb Media Card. The card works fine with BB. I can take pictures and store and even receive files via Bluetooth. The problem is that when I connect to my PC, it wont recognize as an external storage device. In DM it does recognize the BB showing my PIN. This means cable is not the problem. But the card wont show up in MY PC and doesn't work with Media Sync either.

My Lexar8GB MicroSd card worked for a long time. over the past month ive had it at its max capacity with 913 songs on it and a few hundered pictures. I unlocked my phone the other day and it said that i needed to format my sd card.. AGAIN. so i lost over 200 pictures that i wont get back and now i have no source to listen to music on the go. If anyone has any idea on how to fix this please tell me. ive tride taking the battery out and back in to reboot it but it does the same thing, and ive tried taking out the card and putting it back in... nothing. If im paying upwards of $600 on a smartphone that says it can do these things, i expect it to work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, media card was working fine, had alot of work pictures stored on it and was becoming a hassle to hunt through all of them to find what I wanted. So, I inserted media card in computer and transfered what I wanted to a folder on the computer. Then I formatted the card using the computer. When I put the card back into the phone, the phone knows its there, but I must have wiped the card completely as none of the folders for video, pics, etc. are on it anymore. If I take a picture and go to find it, the media card does not even show up, just device memory.
Does anybody have a remedy for this? I already tried formatting the card in the phone but that didn't work. The phone is telling me in the memory options that 1.8GB is free, so I know it works, it just lost the folders or whatever........
About two months ago I bought the Blackberry Curve 3G from Amazon. I bought it unlocked so that when I go back home (I'm from Holland and I'm currently in the US for a year) I can take it with me and use my old sim card. The phone worked fine up until last week; the battery died and when I turned it on as it was charging, I got a message saying the sim card was not available. I turned the phone off again, unplugged it and opened it to see if the sim card was properly inserted. It looked fine so I turned the phone back on: same thing. I've been very careful with my phone, never dropped it, never got wet etc so that can't be it.
It's not the sim card because I tried to put in a different card and that didn't work either. When I tried those two cards in a different phone, they did work.
I contacted Amazon and the company that I bought it from; they told me to contact Blackberry. What can I do??
I have read numerous threads, here at Crackberry and beyond, but I am afraid I have a truly nuked (to ashes) Curve 8310. My son decided he needed a password, then promptly forgot it and wiped the unit out. Being scared that he was really wiping it out (which of course he was), he pulled the battery in the middle of the wipe. I reconnected everything, and it seemed to do a wipe okay. The essential problem now is that I can never get it recognized by a Windows PC when connecting a USB cable. Yes, I have the BB Desktop and app loader installed. A second, known good BB (different model) connects just fine and is recognized. JL_CMDR gives a "port not found" error. Tried invoking LOADER, even with the /NOJVM switch, but nothing ever sees the 8310. Tried the timing issues with battery pull, cable disconnect dozens of times, but I never hear the PC do the double-ding that a USB device has connected, and the Loader application is always blank for the ports.

View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I did a back up on my BB and after finished when I sync the BB it said that I required a software update which I did, Release 5.0.0.1168.However now, my BB doesn't recognize any SIM that I try to use in my BB, I lost all the data which is okay as I have a bakup and I can get it back but I cannot get my SIM working, it says all the time, insert SIM card even thought it is already inserted
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently, the volume buttons, pause/play, fast forward and rewind media keys only work when I am on the Now Playing screen whereas they were working on every other screen in the past; even when my phone was locked. I don't know why it's suddenly not working?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have tried and tried, but can't get Media Sync to find my BB Curve.Desktop Manager can find my BB - and it says it's working & connected, but when I launch Media Sync, after 3 mins of searching, it says "Please connect a BB device".
I have tried without launching DTM - i.e. launching Media Sync on its own.I have tried all variations of restarts, of both BB and laptop AND removing the battery at all sorts of stages in the process. No joy.
I don't see a drive on Windows Explorer with my BB however.I'm running Windows Vista, SP1.
1. Device model number: 8520
2. carrier or mobile provider: Virgin Mobile
3. OS release v 5.0.0.592
Extra history:
1) I downloaded Desktop Manager from the CD and then updated it automatically.
2) I then followed some detailed instructions from this forum elsewhere and totally removed every trace of it (including regedit entries).
3) I downloaded a clean copy of the latest DTM from BB website
4) I then updated the Curve OS software - now on version 5.01 (and yes, like everyone I prefered the old style of key locking!)
5) I also replaced the USB cable since that seemed to provoke a constant cycle of reboots on my BB - this was an earlier problem that a different cable fixed,
i received this phone from my dad who got a newer version. everything was working fine when he had it, but i took it i went through "security options" and pressed a "security erase" everything he had was reset in order for me to be able to configure my email accounts, etc.but now i can't play any music or videos, not from Internet or from the media player on the phone, i mean it doesn't even play the song that comes for default! an error saying "unable to play content" keeps coming up, and i have already taken out the battery and put it back on three times.

View 2 Replies View RelatedToday I noticed that when I hit the mute button on the top of my phone that it no longer takes me to my media folder. I thought the button may have broken somehow, however, after locking my phone I hit the button and it unlocked it just fine. So apparently its not broken, it just up and quit taking me to my media. Is there a way to set the mute button as a shortcut again so I don't have to go through the menu button to get to my music, pics etc?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI looked around, and have not found an answer to my problem. I want to stream online radio from a website. It says that it is compatible with any mobile device with a windows media player capable player. Media sync does not appear to be the solution.

Is it even possible to do this with a blackberry?
I have been using my BB 8520 since an yr. Now I have problem with my media player. At tyms the sound don't sync with the video. Also gets stuck at times. I use my BB to watch movies and listen songs. I guess on an avg of 3hrs a day. Also I use it to browse a little, say 2 hrs a day.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI synced songs from itune and ripped the ones that I could not sync. I got rid of itunes, and then migrated from my 8330 to my new 8530. The music came over to the new 8530 just fine. I cannot get the media files moved to my computer (not all of them anyway), and I cannot see the files on the BB or on my computer when it is connected in mass storage mode.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a BB curve 3g(9300). I used to connect my BB to my PC with the USB data cable. I would than simply drag songs from my computer into music folder. I have not used the Blackberry media manager software. The songs used to work perfectly and gave me no troubles. However today i wanted to add some more songs so I did the same thing. When I disconnected my BB from the computer I found that there was no music nor were there any pictures that I had clicked earlier. I connected my BB to my computer via data cable. I found that all the music and pictures were there in their respective folders. Please note I dont have a media manager software and I directly open the Blackberry folder when I connect my BB to PC. So the nature of the problem is that when connected to my PC, I can see all the music and pictures on my PC but however when I disconnect my BB I cannot see any pictures or music. After fidgeting with my BB, I found that after i go to "media" than "explore" than "media card" than "show hidden files" there are hidden copies of the following folders - Black berry, files, fonts Recycler and start.app.These copies appear first and then there is a line separating them from rest of the list of icon. Under "Blackberry" copy in the "music" folder all my music is there. under pictures all my pictures are present. When I click at the non hidden "blackberry icon I get a message Unable to display/media card/blackberry.exe?
