I have a blackberry 8330 and i had a media card in it and evrything was fine i had music on it and one day i went to play it and i was clicking it and it froze and then said some errors and i went to the media card in option and it said media card cannot be read verify that the memory card is formated and i try to format and it takes a while then it said failed?
I got a 8gb sdhc card (BB Curve 8330 OS 4.5.175) for christmas and i would like to finally install it... I just can't figure out where or how to begin...
I have created folders on my media card to store pictures. I can't find them - the folders or the pictures. The only folders I can find seem to be the album art that automatically downloads itself when I add music to my BB 8330. I can't find any of my pictures besides the ones that automatically placed themselves on the camera memory.
How can I make it so the pictures go to a folder on my memory card, completely skipping the camera memory? And then how can I find these individual folders? And THEN how can I stop the album art, which doesn't actually show up but makes its own folder on the BB.
This is becoming very frustrating as I thought I had followed a thread here on Crackberry and obviously have screwed something up. I hope these pictures are still there. I just can't get to them.
I've done a bit of digging, trying to find a solution to my problem before I posted, but most posts in the vein of a Media Card unrecognized/unable to format trail off into "is your SD card bad?" with no response following. So here's where I stand:
My phone: Blackberry Curve 8330 My Carrier: Verizon My OS: v4.5.0.175
2gb media card has been used in phone since purchase in July '08. As of 2 weeks ago, phone no longer reads media card. Media card is recognized by phone (meaning phone detects whether card is present or not). Error message of "Media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is formatted." Attempts to format via phone fail immediately. When plugging into computer via USB (with Mass-Storage Enabled), Blackberry device is recognized, but no media card is present. A greyed-out drive ( I: ) appears in My Computer, but is inaccessable and cannot be checked, opened, or formatted (Error message; "Please insert a disk into drive I: ).
Attempted solutions: Have used 3 different media cards: 2gb Sony, 2gb PNY, 8gb. Each card tested via SD adapter and all read correctly in My Computer: can move files to/from, checkdisk, and reformat. Have formatted all via PC. Each card gives same error "Media card....formatted" as stated above. Hard reset (battery pull) has no effect. Have removed battery for 48 hours (in case there were any stubborn capacitors, or something like that). Have turned Mass Storage, Encryption, and Media Card support On and Off, removed and reinserted card with each parameter changed, no effect (I can give you the list of all of that, but you get the idea. I'm decently thorough). Rolled back the OS to previous version (via Desktop Manager), problem still exists. Re-upgraded to current version, no change. To sum up, the phone works fine, but the media card may as well not be there. It's not the card(s), and I don't think it's the software, given that I changed the OS up and down, so I'm assuming maybe hardware. I'd appreciate any suggestions, and if you need any further info, I'll do my best to provide.
I have a Blackberry 8330 (CDMA) v4.50.191 (Plaform 3.4.0.62).The Blackberry desktop manager is v4.5The Media Manager doesn't work.when I click on the icon for it, the window gets a grayish tint -- like it's going to do something -- but then it returns to normal and nothing happens.I am trying to download photos I took with my Blackberry camera to my computer.
Ok, media card was working fine, had alot of work pictures stored on it and was becoming a hassle to hunt through all of them to find what I wanted. So, I inserted media card in computer and transfered what I wanted to a folder on the computer. Then I formatted the card using the computer. When I put the card back into the phone, the phone knows its there, but I must have wiped the card completely as none of the folders for video, pics, etc. are on it anymore. If I take a picture and go to find it, the media card does not even show up, just device memory.
Does anybody have a remedy for this? I already tried formatting the card in the phone but that didn't work. The phone is telling me in the memory options that 1.8GB is free, so I know it works, it just lost the folders or whatever........
My data port on my 3 month old 8330 died and Sprint gave me a new one today. The contacts were transferred at the store - but after I restored from my DM backup done one week ago - none of my other settings were restored. What did I do wrong or what have I missed? Sprint rep told me the backup restore would get my new 8330 back to being just like the old one - but it's not.I want to get my email settings, apps, ring tones, wallpapers etc, back. I don't want to have to create everything over again when I have a good backup.
I have a BB curve 3g(9300). I used to connect my BB to my PC with the USB data cable. I would than simply drag songs from my computer into music folder. I have not used the Blackberry media manager software. The songs used to work perfectly and gave me no troubles. However today i wanted to add some more songs so I did the same thing. When I disconnected my BB from the computer I found that there was no music nor were there any pictures that I had clicked earlier. I connected my BB to my computer via data cable. I found that all the music and pictures were there in their respective folders. Please note I dont have a media manager software and I directly open the Blackberry folder when I connect my BB to PC. So the nature of the problem is that when connected to my PC, I can see all the music and pictures on my PC but however when I disconnect my BB I cannot see any pictures or music. After fidgeting with my BB, I found that after i go to "media" than "explore" than "media card" than "show hidden files" there are hidden copies of the following folders - Black berry, files, fonts Recycler and start.app.These copies appear first and then there is a line separating them from rest of the list of icon. Under "Blackberry" copy in the "music" folder all my music is there. under pictures all my pictures are present. When I click at the non hidden "blackberry icon I get a message Unable to display/media card/blackberry.exe?
Yesterday i was running out of charge and didn't have the charger - a colleague had a charger cable connected to his PC, so i charged my phone through this cable.Next thing i know - i open the pictures folder and i only see the pictures stored on the device - which were taken ages ago. All pictures, videos and voice notes that were on the media card are gone.I took a picture just to see where it gets saved - it mentioned "saved on media card". I open the picture folder and it's not there.
I tried the trick of choosing "view pictures" through the camera - nothing. went to Options - memory - and the media card IS recognized, and says "total size 900 MB, Free space 700 MB).Now something weird happened - i went to the pictures folder and "created a new folder". It got created on the media card and now it shows. And thus, any picture i take and i save on THIS folder - it appears in the "all pictures" folder normally.
i have a blackberry curve 8520......when i insert media card it says "memory card cannot be accessed due to fatal errors" i formatted the card on my pc and it still says the same thing.....i tried formatting it on the phone and it failed as well as repair....the media card reads on my pc and in other phones

I have a 4GB media card and nothing will save on it at all. I can't take videos or pictures anymore as it keeps saying 'File not Found' and I can't download music on it anymore. This problem has been going on for some time now, I can't remember when it started to happen exactly, but it is really annoying as media was one of the main things I used my phone for.
I wish to recover deleted pictures (format is jpg.rem) on media card. No, I did not back up the device before deleting.Yes, I tried a couple different free and basic undelete softwares and none of these documents were identified. One blog I saw said it is not possible to retrieve such deleted docs but I am hopeful this is not the case.
My new Blackberry Curve 9300 (Canadian) came with a 2G micro sd media card. I want to put the used 8G card from my old LG (from/ used in America) into the Blackberry. Will I be able to access my old music and pics from the LG?

How do I know if I have a media card? I didn't buy one extra, but there is a little card in the back of my phone. Would one have come with it? I am trying to put music on my phone and am having a hard time and now I'm not sure I even have a media card. This is my first Blackberry and I have only had it about a month.
I know how to install the media card itself. my problem is when I put in the new card my themes and some apps wrer gone. Do I need to format the card transfer stuff.I don't want to do I need to format the card in the phone onthe computer and if in the computer "how". I am trying to go to a 1gb to a 4gb... I looked on the forums for awhile and found only the tutorial on inserting the card, I had no trouble with that. Also, sorry if there is already an answer out there.
I've seen various versions of this question but haven't found an answer yet. I just bought a second hand 8900 to replace my damaged one. The problem is the device doesn't seem to be able to recognize my media card. In the options > memory it says "a media card is not presently inserted in the device". The card works fine in the old device and in a completely different type of phone from a friend. Their card is also not recognized by my device, so I've ruled out the card as the problem. I've tried all the usual fixes - battery pull, software update, etc but with no success. Is this phone just defective or am I missing something?
I got a new Curve 8520 today, after my last one (same model) gave me issues. Everything goes fine except for the media card which is unaccesible for fatal errors. I HAVE tried the following: Formatting the card, Repairing the card, formatting the card via PC (the pc reads it fine), connecting via desktop manager, restoring backups, removing and replacing card and battery. On my last phone the card gave me no errors at all.
My phone wouldn't recognise unlock code so it wiped everything and when it rebooted I saw for the first time in 18 months that I needed a media card encryption code which was used to protect files so I presumed was the same as new unlock code but its not and I've lost music and photos and downloaded files?
after having to do a total wipe, my media card has now been encrypted. It only seems to affect music and other media file storage, that sort of thing.so whenever I try to sync anything, I cant access it, and I get this message."A media card has been inserted that contains encrypted files. Please enter the device password that was used to protect these files: "The problem is; the password I was using before it was wiped must've been, well, wiped...it doesn't recognize any password I used previously as valid...
my bb 8520 media card is not working,I had certain videos and songs, which got wiped off after scanning it.Now I wish to transfer the pictures and files to my PC , which is not possible.
I have a 4gb memory and everything were wiped from it. Music , videos , photos , voice notes and I got really important things that I need them back. Every time I click yes on repair it says repair failed. What should I do to get my things back.
I have seen a few posts related to media card issues, but they all seem to come back to the solution being to format the card. I had the issue with a 32Gb card (which works fine in the PC) and I am now having the same issue with the 16Gb I bought to replace it (having thought it might simply be the running a 32Gb size that was the issue.
It worked briefly and it stored a couple of GPS tracks, but it now won't repair at all... is there something I can check on my phone? I am also having issues with Appworld and am in the process of tryng to reinstall it as it disappeared from the desktop view.
