BB Curve :: 8520 - Cannot Access Media Card Due To Fatal Errors
Jan 18, 2012
Media card Cannot be Accessed Due to Fatal Errors. I use BB8520 I supposed to DL music but suddenly it was gone on my computer and the card reader is not working anymore. I insert it back to my BB it says that media card "It can't be Accessed due to Fatal Errors."
I need to access my Files. I have a blackberry 8520 ( v5.0.0.681 (bundle 1168, platform 5.2.0.67) my 4gb micro sdhc media card has been corrupted so I have put my files onto my computer. I bought a 8gb sdhc media card the next day and inserted it into a media card reader into my computer and put my files on it. Once done I took out the memory card and put it on my phone, it then said media card cannot be accessed due to fatal errors..
I keep getting that message and ive tried pulling the battery....What happened was i did a battery pull because my phone was frozen and then when i put it back in the media card stopped working. What can i do to solve this?
I have tried everything on the blackberry like remove, reinsert, battery pull, options--->memory--->format and repair to no avail. I plug the card into the reader and get nothing on both mac and windows.Media Card Cannot Be Accessed Due To Fatal Errors
One of my users is seeing this error after receiving a replacement phone (9630). This happens when he tries to access the card. If he tries to format the card a similar message is generated.
"media card cannot be accessed due to fatal errors"
The media card works fine on other Blackberry's and his computer. He has tried three other media cards in the phone and all generate the same message. The phone worked fine and did not generate this error prior to being wiped and configured for this user. The media card was fine.
I googled the error and noticed numerous instances where this is a problem with the phone. I don't understand why wiping the phone would cause the media card function to stop working.
We have wiped the phone twice, there are no pictures or data to preserve, we just want it to work.
I have had this problem for a few days. I have tried everything on the blackberry like remove, reinsert, battery pull, options--->memory--->format and repair to no avail. I plug the card into the reader and get nothing on both mac and windows.
I have this Bold 9900 for about half a year, first few month the Media card was that I transferred from my old BB was working fine, then without physical damage of the phone the "Media Card Storage can not be accessed due to fatal errors" msg started occurring during the charge and on/off. I bought a new 32GB SD card, the problem still exists, I check both cards on other devices, they both work fine.
Alright, a friend of mine gave me a Blackberry Bold 9700 after unlocking it, which is awesome. What's not so awesome is that when I first turned it on, it informed me that the media card could not be accessed due to a fatal error. So I checked the card, made sure it was properly inserted, then went to the options menu and tried to format and repair the card, both of which failed. So I tried pulling the battery and that didn't work, either. Unfortunately, I don't have a card reader to actually check this out on my PC.
Ok so i just recently took apart my storm 2 due to cracked digitizer...in the process i broke my media card in half...oops. Ok so i tried to superglue it back together and a message popped up on the scree "media card cannot be accessed due to fatal errors"...so i put it another media card in my storm 2 and i got the same message.
I bought a BlackBerry 9780 which came with a 16gig SD Media card, however after formatting the media card both on and off the phone i'm still getting the Message which reads "Media Card Storage can not be accessed due to fatal errors." In addition to this problem each time i inserted the Media Card the phone restarts itself?
I got a new Curve 8520 today, after my last one (same model) gave me issues. Everything goes fine except for the media card which is unaccesible for fatal errors. I HAVE tried the following: Formatting the card, Repairing the card, formatting the card via PC (the pc reads it fine), connecting via desktop manager, restoring backups, removing and replacing card and battery. On my last phone the card gave me no errors at all.
I got an error on my Phone that states " A Media Card has been inserted that contains errors. To correct the errors please use a disk error-checking utility on a computer. "
I have a new 10 day old blackberry curve 8530. Today it said "media card cannot be accesed due to fatal error" ive tried everything. taking the battery and card out. reformatting it, repair. but it says it cannot be accesed due to fatal error still. It also said the same thing while the card wasnt even IN the phone! the card itself works on the computer and a different phone but not the blackberry. Could it be the phone itself is broken?
My Blackberry Bold keeps sending me a message saying my media card has failed because it has a fatal error. I have lost my photos and music. What do I do to repair?

Ive recently bought a SanDisk 32gb MicroSDHC card class 4. When I inserted the card into my phone I get the above message? I've tried to format the card and get the following message 'media card format failed'. I've tried rebooting phone etc with no results is it worth exchanging the card or shall I just throw the phone in the bin and buy an IPhone?
my blackberry torch froze then this message came up media card storage cannot be accessed due to fatal error. I have tried repairing it and reformatting it
I just got a Transcend 16gb class 6 Micro SDHC yesterday. Everything went well until I put it in my Torch 9800and formatted it like it requested. Afterwards I received the media card fatal error. Here's where it getrs strange: I assumed the card had corrupted, but upon using the adapter to access it on the computer, it worked fine there. Tried reformatting from the comp, still works on the comp., but upon insertion in the phone, fatal error. I tried puting it in my old 8520, works like a charm, no issues. Tried reformatting using the 8520, still a fatal error when inserted into the Torch. My old card that I was using was a Transcend 8gb Class 6, Which still functions with no probs.
"A Media Card has been inserted that contains errors. To correct the errors, please use a disk-checking utility on a computer"I got this message after I transferred .rar theme files to my phone. I promptly deleted the files and did a hard reset, but I still get the error (and i'm not 100% computer savvy, so I'm not sure what utility to use!). How do I fix this?
I have a micro sd 8 GB memory card. It came along with my nokia 5730. I never changed this card since last 3 years but when I inserted it in my BB phone, it didn't recognised and I indicated i.e. Cannot access the memory card for fatal reasons. I want to know if I can use this card with my blackberry or I'd have to buy some other? Or is there any special type of memory card for blackberry?
I have lost my pictures and I am receiving an error message that the media card has errors. It is saving pictires to the, phone and not the media card. I've taken it out, put it back in and took battery out to start the phone again. Still getting the same error message.
I purchased a 8gb memory card for my torch and it worked for a few days then brought up a message saying the card has errors and needs to be repaired i would repair these errors and i formatted the card and it still carried on bringing up the same message I then purchased a 16gb memory card and the same message came up. I formatted the card , repaired all errors on my computer and off my phone. when i transfer all my media to the card and put it in the phone it says format card everytime i put it in i then format the card and re put everything on the memory card , "safely remove" it and put it back in my phone and it says format again?
How do I know if I have a media card? I didn't buy one extra, but there is a little card in the back of my phone. Would one have come with it? I am trying to put music on my phone and am having a hard time and now I'm not sure I even have a media card. This is my first Blackberry and I have only had it about a month.
my bb 8520 media card is not working,I had certain videos and songs, which got wiped off after scanning it.Now I wish to transfer the pictures and files to my PC , which is not possible.
I upgraded google talk but after rebooting my BB bold 9780 doesn't detect media card and show me the message "A Media card has been inserted that contains errors. Do you wish to repair the Media card now? " and when I click on yes then it shows me the message "Media Card repair failed". I checked my media card in another device is working. I also tried one another media card in my BB bold 9780 which didn't work too.
For some reason my media card has become un-detected by my curve. It has worked fine for the past month or so that i've had it and now it's just disappeared. In Memory settings everything is switched to 'On' but the handset doesn't want to recognise the card for some reason. I took it out and put it back in and got nothing, did a soft recent by pulling the battery and still nothing.
I recently bought my girlfriend a 8520 Curve. Not even a week later she told me that she had uploaded 40 songs onto it and only 6 where showing when she went to her music player. I couldn't find anything on the actual phone, so plugged it into my computer. There I found that the BlackBerry folder on the media card was hidden. I tried going properties unhide, which work on all the other folders, but it didn't work.
