I brought my blackberry in May of this year and could download large mp3s in excess of 70 MB at a rate high rate over 70 kB/s. In the past month or so I am unable to download even small audio files which download at a rate of less than 1 kB/s which ends with a downoad failed message.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI dropped my W395 in the bathroom so it got moist and started to malfunction so i took it to the repair shop, and it was repaired under warranty. It was reprogrammed and the flex was changed. So before it got repaired, I'm am sure that my cell was only able to download 1,040 MB max. So i cant download mp3s with better bit rate. But after it got repaired, (the firmware was changed from R1DA015 to R1FB001) I tried to download a 3 MB mp3, expecting that at 1.040 MB it will stop downloading and say, 'page too large to be loaded. Choose another link'. But lo and behold, it didn't stop and now i can download without any size restrictions. I was pleasantly surprised at the improvement so i just wanna ask you guys if its normal for that to happen when you update your firmware? Cos I'm assuming that updates don't affect the RAM of your phone, it only fixes the bugs. Or maybe the technician replaced some hardware inside the phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.

When I got to the download page I did everything (authenticating, etc.) as per usual.The download began but then I received a message saying "FaceBook not available from AppWorld". Everytime I plug in my phone and open the blackberry manager to do whaterver it gives me the message that I haven't installed the Blackberry Device Manager . I updated my desktop manager to version 5.0, and I tried to update my device software and it says that I don't have any updates, after that I have deleted the files device.xml and vendor.xml but again when I plugged in my phone it comes the message that the Blackberry Device Manager is not installed. I've uninstalled the desktop manager and it let me use once but again no update for my phone software and then again the same message that i haven't installed the Blackberry Device Manager
My carrier company here in Ecuador wont help me cause I bought the phone in the USA, but anyways I have friends that have the same problem as and they have bought in Ecuador to Movistar (my carrier) the same phone and the update to 5.0 doesn't work.
