BB Curve :: Red Cross Icon On BBM
Sep 29, 2012When I have typed my message and hit send I get a red cross on the left of the screen. I am also unable to recieve any messages.

BB Curve :: 9300 Won't Turn On - Get An Icon Of A Battery With A Red Cross Through It
Jan 28, 2012My month-old Blackberry Curve 9300 won't turn on. I plugged it in - to the wall - to charge earlier today and at that point it seemed fine - when I went back to check it, though, the screen was blank with a red light. I've tried turning it on, but the loading screen comes up, loads a tiny part of the way, and then a blank white screen appears, then I get an icon of a battery with a red cross through it.

May 8, 2011yesterday appeared on my screen an icon just like the one when you have a missed call.I looked arround and searched discussions .I tooked the battery out,hard reset,...i looked into messages..call log....and i didn't found anything. Apr 4, 2011X10 min pro:When phone is in airplane mode the status bar shows a sim icon with a small red cross in top right corner, when airplane mode is off it dissapears and the normal signal strength bars appear. If I take out the sim card and put into airplane mode the icon does not appear. What does the icon mean - is it normal for it to be there when in airplane mode?

Feb 9, 2011I've had my BB Curve for about a year and a half now. Last night, I went to charge my BB after the battery had drained to find on the screen a drained battery icon with a red cross/line through it. I had reloaded the set up on my phone and it still does not work and it seems that the white loading bar under the icon still loads after it has appeared and stops at around 75%.Will a new battery fix this?As I have said, I have reloaded and wiped everything on my phone and I have also tried the 'take out the battery while it's charged, put it back in method', nothing happened.

Sep 22, 2012I can't turn my phone on.For the last week, every time I plugged the charger in, the screen would go white, and then a battery with a red cross through would show up.If I removed and replaced the battery several times then eventually it would reboot, I took to a phone shop yesterday and they unscrewed the phone and re-screwed it together again, and the battery sign didn't appear again and appeared to be working fine again.However, last night I attempted to charge the phone again, and the battery sign appeared again and now will not go off. Aug 22, 2012my 8520 stopped working around a month and a half ago maybe a little longer, it wouldnt charge when plugged into the charger, i tried a veriety of different things to see if it worked but nothing did, i have now bought a new battery for my 8520, before putting the new battery in, i decided to try and turn my phone on with my old battery in it, but had no luck. so i took my old battery out and placed my new one in and the red light came on in the top right corner, it then came up with a charging sign on the screen then a red cross appeared ontop of it, a loading bar then came on underneath it and it grew longer very slowly, so i thought i'd leave it to see if it needed time to charge and load, when i came ack to have a look at it after about 15 mins it looked exactly the same so i then tried turning my phone on/off bye pressing the red end call button, when i did that the battery with the red cross through went off the screen and then the word 'blackberry' in white writing appeared as if it was then being switeched on and then the little loading sign came on underneath, shortly after that it just went back

On recharging the red light goes off after a couple of minutes and soon after a battery with a red cross icon appears on the screen .Does this mean the battery, phone and sim card are wrecked. I was on it one day on bbm and it died so when I got home I charged it up then went to turn it on but after 2 seconds of the rebooting screen a battery with a red cross appeared giving me the indication my battery was low I let the rebooting process continue but at about three quarters of the way through it froze, so I pulled the battery out after leaving it too freeze for over an hour and carried on doing that. It didn't work a few weeks later I tried it again it worked but then today it ran out of charge and when I tried to turn it on it does the same thing even know I have 100% charge as my other blackberry (which can only use facebook for some reason) said I had 100% in the status option screen.

Now, I was told it was my battery after much goolging.. I have 3 batteries at my disposale, all working at various strengths. None are changing the issue.So, Ive plugged it into my DM and it gives me 3 OS's to choose from when repairing. When they send emails from inside the network (Via wireless) the email send OK. If they try sending an email from outside the network 5 mins later they get a red cross next to the email they just sent. They could be sending via 3g or on their home wireless.
They don't have a Blackberry server, they send through their providers website, (I.E they log onto their blackberry account and the exchange account is set up in there). (Think its called Blackberry internet service??) When logging in to the account everything is set up OK as they have the green tick to say so.
They have exchange 2003 version 6.5 (Build 7638.2 with service pack 2.

Sep 30, 2011I have a habit of saving all my sms text messages, and that was exactly what I was doing on my BB since June, 2011, from day one of using the phone.
However it seems that any sms beyond a month old automatically turns blank and becomes a green icon. Am lost since a lot of personal smses have vanished, including Flight tkt details - a day before my flight too..
lately the smses have turned green just 3 weeks out.... am desperate... since I also get a Application Memory full message.. inspite of saving all pics and music files on a 4GB memory card.
I would have to switch to my previous Samsung phone otherwise, even though it lacks a lot of features like my current BB..
I take a daily backup thru BB Protect, but it doesnt makes things better.
