I try to open my Blackberry Protect Application on my BB Curve 9300. But hang and appear message Error Starting : net rim bb dryad gui: Symbol "Security device Under Attack" not found.

however, RIM is not taking responsibility for fixing it. Yet another company willing to take my money for a product that they are unwilling to back. I have tried every suggestion posted to rectify the scroll issue. None of them work. I would like to get the name of the person at RIM to whom I can write a letter.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy mute key has gone insane. Not only does it not always work when I push it, it often goes into spasms of randomly triggering without being pushed. This is a major problem, since in most applications it triggers a standby mode which can only be exited by... pushing the mute key.
Does anyone know a fix for this? Ideally, I'd like to make one of the convenience buttons a second Mute so I could use that to exit standby. That's not one of the native assignments; is there a program that could allow it? I'd also settle for killing the mute function entirely.
How does one set the key lock to cut in automatically after a certain number of minutes of not being used. I've had that facility on all my recent (much much cheaper) phones but can't see how to do it on my 8520. Also is it possible to set the key lock with the 'clock' app open? That would be particularly useful.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe option to "invite attendees" on the calendar has just vanished from my wife's Curve 9300!It worked perfectly a few days ago. So far I have completed the following procedures without any success:
1. done soft reset & hard resets: battery out & in whilst BB is on; alt/del buttons for soft reset.
2. done the hosting route table connection thing
3. checked default services and made sure the CICAL calendar is set to the correct email provider (gmail, in this case), no conflicting accounts appeared.
4. checked the phone has updated software: it has the newest service book.
5. Restored just the calendar from a previous backup using the BB desktop software.None of this has worked.Finally, I have downloaded the same up to date service book but have NOT reinstalled it because I do not know how. BTW: on resending service book I followed instructions and downloaded the exe. file onto the media card (it was too large for the phone memory) but have not accessed this or installed it yet or rebooted the phone.
I know that the lock icon is missing after the new upgrade and you have to push the A* then mute to unlock or set a password and the lock icon will reappear and then one has to enter a password to unlock phone.i get it but i hate it.i like the old way of being able to lock the phone and unlocking.can anyone tell me how to downgrade to old software or find an easy solution for this.is driving me nuts.also my calendar has created a double entry for all of my current appointments.i really hate the new upgrade.thought it was going to be better but haven't seen it yet.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 8520 that's brand new. However, I notice when I zoom the camera and take a picture, the camera doesn't actually zoom in. All it does is resize the image so that it gets smaller the more it says the zoom number. For example, If I take a picture at 1x zoom, it will be 1024x768 pixels on my computer screen. However, if I zoom in 3x, it makes the picture much smaller (like 600x800) and more focused (and pixelated) on the center of the subject of the picture.
So that on the tiny Blackberry screen, the picture appears bigger when resized down a lot. When has digital zoom meant resizing the image to fool the user into thinking that it is zoomed only when viewing it on the blackberry screen? When I zoom in, it should keep the picture the same size! What a gip for a relatively high quality phone camera too.
I have a Curve 8330 and am wondering if there is a way to get the Keypad Lock and Standby Mode to function together from one of the convenience keys. I currently have Standby Mode on the Mute Key on top and Keypad Lock on the left convenience key.

The phone is working normally, I can receive text, calls, bbms, etc. However, I cannot just view and answer. I tried to update my OS, put a paper over the battery to tighten, I have removed the battery pack and replace a million times, tried to re-charge, removed sim and memory card and re-place but none of these tricks seem to work. I am hesitant to open it up because it will void the warranty.

I bought the device a month ago and had a brand new battery installed in no later than yesterday.Battery life is about 3 to 5 hours at the very best, whilst I am not using any specific 3rd party application.In addition, the "clock" apprears on a very frequent basis, slowing the system dramatically.I do not have any files saved on the media card ... Wi-fi has been disabled already as have Bluetooth. LAt, connection the mobile network is fine so I do not believe it has to do with the device desperately seeking connection.PS: I am based in France with SFR being my provider.

However, the find function no longer works. If I type A, is says no passwords found even though I can see a bunch as soon as I open it. However,Things I have tried so far: I have used the desktop software's upgrade function to upgrade but every time I get the message that, there is no upgrade available. I also downloaded my carrier (MTN - South Africa) specific software the "9300M_PBr6.0.0_rel1879_PL6.6.0.124_A6.0.0.448" file and installed it onto my computer. I then connected my BB and tried to upgrade but was still unsuccessful.
