BB Curve :: Missing Application Center Icon After Upgrading 9300
Nov 11, 2011
Upgraded my 9300 Curve from OS5 to OS6 but Application Center Icon is missing. The application is listed on the Application Manager but nowhere to be found on the Menu even after trying to show all application icons. Tried to reinstall and wipe the system several times but the problem still persists.
I have a curve 9300 v5.0 it was working fine I think that it was because I was trying to update to the last version of it, but it didn't work and show some kind of error, after this the bbm was working and the next day the icon was Gonne! I already reboot my phone, wipe it (reset) and started from scratch but nothing seems to work! My icon is not there! When I tried to install blackberry messenger again it said that the application already exist! idk what else to do!!! Can anyone please help me! Also when I tried to work on it form my PC it said that my device has not enough memory!
I recently noticed that my Blackberry App World icon was missing from my home screen. I drilled into each of the sub folders, selecting 'show all' for each, and still could not find the icon. I attempted to re-download the app from the blackberry website using my browser, but was informed that I already had the application on my device. I then attempted to replace the existing version, and still no icon.I then decided to navigate to the application center and remove the app world application. I then navigated back to my browser (cleared the cache) and attempted to download the app. I received a 'download failed' notification, with the details of 'Invalid COD error 907' message (or something to that affect).
Specs: Device: Curve 9300 Carrier: Vodaphone UK OS: 6.0 Bundle (v6.0.0.448, platform 6.6.0.124) App world: v2.1.1.19 (i think)
After installing OS6 on my Blackberry 9300 the icon for Blackberry App World has disappeared. App World is installed in the application list but the icon does not appear on the Home screen even after the show all command.
I have a small problem that a lot of users seem to have with BB 8900. A Blackberry Maps application has been installed on my device (version 4.6.1), but the icon to start it up is missing. I have seen some posts regarding that problem but none of the proposed solutions seem to work, including reinstallation of the application (upon trying I get a message that Blackberry Maps is not compatible with the software I have installed). I have recently updated OS to 4.6.1.231 (platform 4.2.0.108) so my soft is definitely up-to date. I am clueless as to what to do now.
After upgrading to 6.0.0.448, the Blackberry Maps icond disappeared. It is not hidden i have checked that.I have also followed the instructions here And downloading the BB maps from this link but it is not there. I cant find it inder downloads or even application folder.
My email icon (the one associated with an email account added via Blackberry Internet Service) has disappeared after upgrading the Blackberry Device Software via Blackberry Desktop. At the same time after the upgrade Email Setup does no work. Clicking on the setup icon -> email gets the clock timer for 1 second and then nothing.I've now downgraded back to device operating system 6.0 bundle 905 which has made the email setup icon workagain but no email icon has returned.I've requested the service books which have been successful, but no icon. I've removed and reinserted the battery.I can read messages from the general message icon which shows email is getting to the device but I'd prefer the original functionality of a seperate email icon per account appearing in the All Icons section.I think 6.0 bundle 2647 seems a liitle flaxy or something got corrupted at upgrade.
I have baught blackberry curve 9300 from Bahrain Airport last week.. now my berry shows a black spot on the center in 1.5 Cm lenght its visible when screen is dark but the white screen doesnt shows clearely. I am afraid whether any daamage happend to my screen
I have bought a new Torch 9810 and since, then facing various issues. The latest one being that compass icon is missing under Application or Home screen. On top of it, I checked that Compass is neither present in the installed Applications list. The last thing I remember was that I had reset the phone once.
I have a BB 9300 with a preinstalled OS 5.0 as I connect it to a the Blackberry Desktop software it prompted me to upgrade to OS 6.0. now my problem is during upgrading and downloading of modules my internet connection went off several times and error has occurred, now as I connect my 9300 to my laptop the desktop software cannot detect the unit and an error stating that my BB is rebooting thus I cannot connect with the software. What can I do to upgrade my software.
I went out one night and when I woke up I noticed an application icon was missing on my BB. I just now realized that its BB AppWorld that has disappeared and I cannot seem to find it for the life of me. I assume I drunkenly hit some random keys and it vanished but I can't possibly imagine how I have checked all my hidden folders and every thing. My Applications page under Settings lists AppWorld and I have even tried countless battery pulls and deleting AppWorld and reinstalling it.
How can I install back the language pack after upgrading the 9300?Before I upgraded my blackberry software/firmware, my software/firmware was 1875, after when I upgraded from 1875 to 2475, the language pack then went missing.I then found another version of east asian from Vodafone which is the same one as mentioned above, 1875, I can't seem to install the language pack back in after when I've upgraded my phone software.I've deleted the old version of the software in my BB from my computer. My network is Vodafone. Is there a way to reinstall the version 1875 language pack, install it into 2647 language pack? I don't want to load it back into the old version 1875, but to load it in the new version of 2647.
I recently upgraded my OS on my Curve 8520 to Version 5.00 Bundle 1168 and I find that the email app is no longer on the phone. I know my email account is OK as I can see the unread messages on the message icon at the top of the phone showing them arriving but I can not see the app to see them.
I have read a lot of advise and did it all, pulling of battery, checking the hide options, checking the application management, etc but my BBM icon is gone. Tried reinstalling again but it says it is already installed.
I get an error that says "This device cannot charge your phone" and clicking more information tells me I don't have the USB drivers installed. Two problems. The first is that I have the desktop app which supposeduly was supposed to install these automatically, and second was that the first time I saw this error, I had it plugged into the wall via a USB -> AC adapter. So, no computer involved.I'm getting seriously frustrated, because I've already had to take the phone back twice for replacement and a new battery. This seems like it can be fixed on my end, but I can't find a download for the drivers.
I'm having an application memory/storage problem on my phone. I've deleted unnecessary applications already, but my storage still keeps on going down to 0mb.Then when I restart my phone it goes up max to 18mb and after a few hours it goes down again. I don't know why.
I recently upgraded 8520 handset to device software vers 5.0 - everything fine except that the icon I use the most - "Keyboard Lock" icon has disappeared. Looked all over - hidden icons etc - no luck.
I have installed Blackberry Desktop Software 6.0 for blackberry curve 9300.I wish to install Japanese language pack to view Japanese character on my cellphone.Language is not available in the application list. How can I import this new language?

I have this new Curve 9300 V5.0.0.977 Platform6.3.0.63 Branding version1.0.88.282G. I have subscribed to a BIS. I downloaded social netwoking applications such as Twitter and Facebook directly from Backberry Phone. Unfortunately Facebook is not working error message as follows "You are currently on a service plan that does not support this application. If you want to use this application please contact your service provider to upgrade the plan". I tried to contact my service provider and they dont know also why.
I tried to use Blackberry application world but its not working as well message as follows" Blackberry App World is not currently available in your country. Please checkBlackberry.com for updates."
I've a 9300 on T-Mobile UK with BB Worldwide booster, which I thought was for email. At the top right is "3G BB (icon)". I think the BB refers to the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS)..I'm in France and have used by BB to connect to the internet directly and also using it as a 3G modem via Desktop Software to my netbook. After downloading several MBs of data, I am relieved to find that although all the MBs of data appear on my account, using Orange france, there is not a single charge for the data. I am assuming that using the BIS also includes www data as well as email.
There are also some BlackBerry.net entries - which I assume are for the GPS maps etc.
On the top of the screen, near the email indicator, there is now a yellow ball that looks like the earth-type symbol for internet. There is a number 1 next to it. This indicator appeared when i turned my phone on this morning and it won't go away.I tried this advice and it didn't work.It is a WAP Browser icon. It's also an unopened message. Here is the best way to search From the main message queue do a search:service=ALL SERVICESfolder: ALL FOLDERSshow: ONLY UNREADtype=ALL I also tried clearing history, cache and cookies and it is still there?
When I downloaded the OS for pearl 9100 I lost the ability to access my application center. The tab to view it was there but none of my applications show up. When I try to reset I get error 404.

I am using a curve 9300 , recently i upgraded my OS to Ver.6 after which i found out that my icon for bb app world is missing , also i cannot change my theme ?
My Blackberry Desktop confirms that Maps is installed but I can find no Icon for them on the device. I have deleted Maps via the desktop and reinstalled and still no Icon.
After I installed OS6 v461 in my 9300, the firsts reboots didn't show the sms icon. After some research, I found a solution: to search and delete all sms messages from messages app/icon (because some "incompatibility" between sms storage in OS5 and OS6).Some weeks passed until today without having any issue with this. Now, I decided to do a QuickPull because I was having bad reception and after restart, I noticed sms icon was missing again.
