I am a technician configuring a BB for a customer. I just wiped the device and reloaded the OS, including the base software and a few specific programs I've installed on every other blackberry I've done as per company standard. I've tried multiple battery pulls and I've tried reloading the OS through the blackberry desktop software, and it hasn't fixed my issue:
The trackpad only works in specific menus, and it seems to half-work in others, requiring me to use the touchscreen to navigate. Specifically, it WILL work if the selection is currently in the app list, or if I am in the Options. It does NOT work to transition from the home screen to the app list, when viewing the user agreement after pushing programs through desktop manager, and it does not work at all when I am in the Setup. It doesn't appear to be a hardware issue, because the trackpad seems to specifically work in some areas and not work in others. When it works, it works 100%, and when it doesn't work it is useless.
Are there troubleshooting steps I should attempt, or is this an issue that would be better handled by the carrier? The phone technically "works" but I don't want to give a phone with limited functionality to this customer.

Nov 3, 2014Only properly used the radio today but could only get it to play if I turned the screen off. That's fine if you know the station frequency but if you are wanting to search for a station and don't know the frequency you can't do it. How strange is that.

The problem is that when I start the radio it can search for stations, but no sound is reproduced by speaker or headphones.
It only starts to work if I go to options and start track ID to find the song reproducing. And if I stop track ID sound stops to.

Jun 4, 2014My phone has been acting up since installing the latest iOS 7.1.1. The back lighting for the screen works intermittetly. I have been able to get it to come back on by turning the phone off and back on, but not every time. Once I enabled VoiceOver through Siri and turned ScreenCurtain On and Off. Other times, just clicking the home button and a few times on a notification that would turn the back lighting on. The phone seems to want to respond to turning the back lighting on, but does not do it every time it should. It usually takes 10 - 30 minutes of me working with it to get it to come back on. The phone has not been dropped and is in an Otterbox case.

Aug 21, 2010Checked the forum and did not find any on this post! Ran my battery down to 4% and radio did not turn off. Has Rim done away with this feature? Not very often i have the battery down this low, and i know it is not good for the battery. I just wanted to see if it would turn off. I plugged my phone in at 4% so I did not run the battery any lower. I thought it was at 5% that it would turn off. Is the percentage lower? Or is RADIO OFF gone?

Jan 28, 2011I have had a Curve 8330 in service with Virgin Mobile, for a couple of years. I have just recently switched my cellphone number to a new handset and new service provider. In preparing my Curve 8330 for a new owner (at some point), I opted to use the "Wipe Handset" function, to clean the handset of all my personal information, contacts, etc. During this process, I was advised that the "radio" would be turned off. I thought I was going to be able to manually turn it back on after performing this "wipe", so I wasn't concerned. This would seem (so far) to not work; at least - not the way I was expecting to be able to. Does anyone know how I could at least turn the handset's radio on? While this wouldn't do much good without a service contract attached to the handset, it will at least assure me that the unit is still in working order, and will work properly for a new owner.

I took my SD card out as i have soo many photo's, video's and song's on there and didnt want to lose it.
