I bought an unlocked BOLD 9700 QWERTZ keyboard layout, German edition, unlocked, OS 5.0 because I thought that it was a smarter choice than purchasing an iPhone.The following issues occured and I would be very delighted if you could resolve them all:
* WiFi: What settings do I have to change so that my blackberry does transmit all data via WiFi and not GPRS or 3G? I do not have a data plan and don't want one

* eMail: The set-up assistant only allows me to connect to a Blackberry server. I want to connect to my private IMAP server. How can I do that?
* GPS: No app was found on the phone. No Blackberry Maps, nothing. Where can I get the Blackberry Maps?
* AppWorld: I am unable to access the Appworld. When trying to open the page from my Blackberry it says that my device is not supported. How can I access the appworld anyway and download programms for my Blackberry Bold 9700?
I'm trying to use the Appworld on my Curve 8530, but I want it to only use the WiFi (I just have the Blackberry Social plan with Koodo with no data plan).
Right now, I've connected my phone to my router (a Netgear WNR1000 v2) using WPA2-PSK [AES] encryption and the PSK. Both the Router and the Phone say that they are connected, the router assigned it an IP addy (192.168.X.X), the phone says its connected but on the manage connections screen, there is no green check next to WiFi (only a square with a white line through it).
When I try turning off the mobile connection and only use WiFi I get the following:
"You do not have sufficient wireless coverage or your connection to the wireless network is turned off" I don't want to run the risk of getting overage charges with my provider
Seriously, why can't they just have the Appworld run in the desktop software, and when you sync the phone, it updates the software you download.
I have got a BlackBerry Torch 9800 since 2 days.I have created an BB Id account but I can't login on my phone. The system keeps telling the following: "an error has occured, please try again later". I have reinstalled BB Appworld twice. There's no problem if I access BB Appworld with my PC.

However cannot browse internet at all.When Data Services is on browser works fine. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have scoured the forums here and practically everywhere possible on the net with out any luck at finding an answer for almost a month. I am currently on Prepaid cards through Fido. I bought a BB Curve about a month ago because I was told it had built in WiFi.I have no problems connecting it to my home wireless network. Weather I have it secured or unsecured. I have no problems connecting to any open or secured wireless network. Where I do have a problem is when I go to places like Starbucks where it has a log-in Screen.Then I am unable to connect at all.I scan for networks, it finds the network. I select the network. It then says it's connected. Then I go to try and go onto the internet and it just gives me a blank white screen. As of right now I am finding that my BlackBerry is just a useless paperweight since mainly I got it to use at Starbucks since that is where I am a lot of the time.
I have tried going to bell.ca and seeing if I could access it that way (as I read somewhere to try this), still no luck. My question is, why would I be told that it has built in wifi if it only works on certain networks? Is it able to be used on networks that have a login screen or is it not able to? And is there something I am doing wrong? It is showing the bell hotspot name when it says connected. And I made sure I have it set as wifi mode. I have had other devices (Palm Pilot) that have had no problems connecting. What is the point of built in wifi if it won't work on ALL wifi networks?Ultimately what I want to know, is how to get my BlackBerry to bring up the login pages of these "hot spots"? Weather at Starbucks, Libraries, other coffee shops etc.?
I have a blackberry curve 8520 and I have a problem the phone is suppose to be able to run all internet except bbm through wifi even when I have no credit or active bbm. I can't log into msn or even access any other website from it all I can get on is fb's home page.

My problem is that I can't find the AppWorld - I mean can't find it anywhere in the menu. And the Application list says I have it installed. Anyone has any idea?! Look all over the menu but somehow can't see from where to start it up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my BB Curve 9360 second hand and, despite making sure I was on a BB supported contract with Orange, have never been able to successfully download apps from appworld. I press 'download' and up comes the Agree/ Disagree box, which disappears after I select 'Agree'. And then - nothing. It has returned to the previous screen detailing information about the app and when I check my downloads, there it isn't. I have experienced a similar thing when I go on the payment methods option - I select 'Agree' and the screen doesn't change. I've been on several other forums but can't find any which have the same problem.I don't understand whether it's my BB or Orange or what?!

App World icon is MIA, although the application is clearly installed when I check Applications (it's on the list, with all the modules showing). I have reinstalled the OS, deleted Application Manager and App World and reinstalled them, done several battery pulls - all to no avail. I have checked for hidden icons, checked all folders, but I cannot find the icon, nor can I start App World. No application updates are showing on the status bar, even though I know several need updates.Running OS 6.0 Bundle 2391 (v6.0.0.534, Platform 6.6.0.200) on a Curve 9300, registered with Koodo and connected to my wifi network.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just had some apps signaling me that it was time to upgrade them. I went to do so and it wanted me to enter my password. Not sure why it wasn't automatically logging in as it had done so before. Tried the "Forgot password" option and it didn't have my email address on file. I then tried every email address that I have thinking I used a different one and could never get it to work. Went to the AppWorld website and did the same thing with the same results.
So then I figured I'd just create the account again with the email address being used for the BB (which is what I thought I had done before). I went ahead and set up the account, and submitted and I waited for the email to activate my account. I never got the email and thought I did something wrong. Tried again and it told me the username and email was being used. I still can't get the account to work and if I am supposed to get an email to activate the account, I haven't received one.
Since the last update of the appworld application (around one week ago) I encounter some problems with its search feature. Indeed, when I enter a keyword in the search field, it sends me back the result by categories (News/Games/My World...). And if I click on any categories to get the details of applications found, the appworld application freezes. I must click on the back/return key to regain control so I never have the result of what I searched.
So each time I need a new application by searching, I must use the web blackberry site and a QR code scanner. And, regarding this point, I have another question: could you explain me why I'm not able to install some basic applications on my recent BB like "yahoo!", "viigo" or one of the RIM gift "bejeweled" ? When I try to install them, appworld answers "this application is not available for this terminal" (translation from french message). I'm very surprised that those application are not available on one of the most recent device and with the last OS.
Technical details of my device: Blackberry Curve 9360 / OS 7.0 Pack 1825 (v7.0.0.400, plate-forme 8.0.0.419)
