I have a blackberry curve 8520 and I have a problem the phone is suppose to be able to run all internet except bbm through wifi even when I have no credit or active bbm. I can't log into msn or even access any other website from it all I can get on is fb's home page.

Also, I tried to complete a job search on monster.com. I could complete all of the fields, but when I clicked on the "search" button, nothing happens.
This is a personal blackberry with no security restrictions, so I'm not sure what I have to turn on that's not turned on.

However cannot browse internet at all.When Data Services is on browser works fine. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have scoured the forums here and practically everywhere possible on the net with out any luck at finding an answer for almost a month. I am currently on Prepaid cards through Fido. I bought a BB Curve about a month ago because I was told it had built in WiFi.I have no problems connecting it to my home wireless network. Weather I have it secured or unsecured. I have no problems connecting to any open or secured wireless network. Where I do have a problem is when I go to places like Starbucks where it has a log-in Screen.Then I am unable to connect at all.I scan for networks, it finds the network. I select the network. It then says it's connected. Then I go to try and go onto the internet and it just gives me a blank white screen. As of right now I am finding that my BlackBerry is just a useless paperweight since mainly I got it to use at Starbucks since that is where I am a lot of the time.
I have tried going to bell.ca and seeing if I could access it that way (as I read somewhere to try this), still no luck. My question is, why would I be told that it has built in wifi if it only works on certain networks? Is it able to be used on networks that have a login screen or is it not able to? And is there something I am doing wrong? It is showing the bell hotspot name when it says connected. And I made sure I have it set as wifi mode. I have had other devices (Palm Pilot) that have had no problems connecting. What is the point of built in wifi if it won't work on ALL wifi networks?Ultimately what I want to know, is how to get my BlackBerry to bring up the login pages of these "hot spots"? Weather at Starbucks, Libraries, other coffee shops etc.?
I have recently changed my blackberry plan to instant messages and email only and now i cannot access the internet over my home wifi. It connects but remains grayed out and no internet pages will load. I have hot rebooted several times and there is no problem with my wifi

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use my Curve 8520 to connect to the internet using my home Wi-Fi. I have not trouble connecting and downloading apps, or using web sites. The problem comes when I try to use one of the apps which needs and internet connection (Blackberry App World, Facebook, Google, etc.). All of these apps generate an error message saying that they are having trouble connecting to the internet and that I should verify my network connections. This leads me to believe I have a setting wrong somewhere.

Please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again'. Why is this? Also, when i try to update to 5.0 it says I need a data package but it worked on my old phone. And because of this I can't download the app world. The signal goes to SOS a lot as well but I think my house blocks the signal. Currently it says 'gprs' with 2 bars beside it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had the curve for a few weeks now. At first i changed the settings of the browser to "hotspot" so i could use it with wifi. It was working really well, then all of a sudden it stopped durin browsing. The phone says the wifi connection is fine, but whenever i go to the broswer and try to go to a website it just says loading at the bottom and nothing happens.
Can anyone help with this? should i restart the phone setting somehow because i might have done changed some setting during browsing without realising or is this an actual issue with the phone?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a strange issue with my xperia pro.Since a week back i am not able to access the internet through wifi across all apps except for the Good email application!Xperia pro is not the issues since I am able to access my emails via Good all the time.My router cannot be the issue since on all other devices (ipad, iphine, pc, laptop) i have full connectivity (both Good and all other apps).
Now comes the strangest part:I switched to my neighbors router and lo and behlod everything works on my Xperia pro.I have no clue where to pinpoint the problem.
I recently deactivated my Blackberry Bold 9000 (v4.6.0.304 operating system) from AT&T since I ported my cell phone number to US Cellular who had better coverage in my region. I'd like to continue using my Blackberry Bold 9000 as a free wi-fi only internet access device and install the Google Voice app so my kids could text message and make phone calls via the Google Voice app and phone's wi-fi connection. While my BB Bold is able to connect to our home wi-fi network like in the past it doesn't successfully connect to the internet and gives me the following message: "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later."

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using my laptop as an internet hotspot using program mHotspot. I'm connecting to this network using another laptop and my Xperia Z2. I was using it for like 2-3 weeks already and everything were working fine but suddenly it stopped working correctly, I mean my phone doesn't have internet anymore. I doubt it'd be a problem with that program because my second laptop has internet access all the time with no problems.
Every time I'm trying to load some site (google, youtube, anything) I'm getting an error: This web page is not available. I can ony Reload or Show details. I click on "Show details" and it says that the server can't be found because the DNS look-up failed. There are some solutions to this problem but none works, I tried them already.
On the bottom of the page it shows Error code: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG.
Okay I get it, its something with DNS configuration but I can't figure out whats wrong. I tried changing DNS address in wi-fi settings but it didn't work.
Looks like its a problem only with my internet browsers (I tried using both Chrome and Dolphin browser) since other apps which uses internet connections (like Skype, Facebook messenger) works fine (except for that avatars are not loading at all).
Also I'd like to add that I wasn't changing any settings on the phone before the error appeared. I was browsing the internet at the evening and at the morning it wasn't working anymore.
i have high copy S5 phone kittkat version 4.4.2 c onnected to wi-fi but no internet access at all and i am using wi-fi hotspot from my computer. and the software i am using is Baidu Wi-fi hotspot and it works on all other devices including my friends laptop computer and all my friends are using internet over the wi-fi but not me, not at all!!
