BB Curve :: Can't Input UK Postcodes - Numeric Only Keys Allow?
Mar 25, 2011
Everything was working fine before I accepted an update to the firmware on the phone and now whenever I try to add a contact it thinks i'm in the US and will only accept a numeric zipcode and not an alpha-numeric UK postcode.I've checked all my settings and can't find what to alter.
Information about my device:Blackberry Bold 9780Platform: 6.6.0.241App Version: 6.0.0.666Carrier: Rogers CommunicationsSome of you might call this "randomly shut off" but its not! the device is still running...The issue is that at a random time blackberry keys will stop working eg. All buttons on the device including lock/unlock key while this is happend the blackberry screen is in sleep mode or whatever you call it when device isn't in use but ppl think it shut off automatically. During this time you can receive calls, bbm, nd text and all that you just won't be able to answer the call, reply to bbm, and so on... P.s screen turns on if u receive a call obviously. The only fix for this is to pull out the battery so it reboots fully this is only temporary may happen again. All you other people are just giving RIM false information like "blackberry just auto shut off" without even bothering to look into it your first goto place are these forums..
on MLS.ca they put out numeric links for pages as per 2923767 a seven digit number link BB browser treats this as a PHONE number ! and not a page link so ALL MLS references cannot be viewed on a BB !
When I turn on my BB, the numeric keypad is locked (123 sign on upper right activated).I am therefore unable to enter my password which contains letters. How can I unlock the numeric keypad, as all the other keys are inactive?
A few things that i discovered and its bad! Comparing to E71, E72 is very bad. By the way, this is the second E72 i am using. I bought one before, same issue, now the secound one, Same ISSUE again!
Here are the problems: I need to type in Chinese (pinyin) but whenever the language is switched to Chinese input, the calculator does not allow me to input decimal (how bad this is!).
Also in Chinese mode, once back to English input, the SPACE bar input is NOT WORKING. The only way is to restart the damm phone.
I have this problem on my iPhone as I accidentally restore my configurations on my iPod touch to my iPhone. So basically my phone is showing some like this (See attachment). The signal bar becomes numeric numbers. Tried re-storing but won't work.
My iPhone 4 volume keys and silent/ringer keys are not working and it doesn't ring and vibrate when i get a call or text and neither the sound working when i use any app like games etc. but when i go to settings and change the ringtone then its ringing and the sound is working when i play music but there is a problem as well the headphone dock is not working.
I found that I can't use the numeric keypad while calling with my N8. Is it possible to show the numerica keypad as possible as other Symbian devices are?
Because of that issue, I can't listen to my voicemails because you need to send dialing signals to use your voicemail box.
Anyone out there have a PIN that's all numeric characters? I swapped out my S2 for a new one, the PIN looks like an 8-digit phone number, but everything seems ok so far, but only had it for an hour. They didn't swap anything at the store aside from the handset and phone number from what I could tell.
I have a storm 2 which my office insists on being password protected. The keyboard defaults to suretype and my password is 4356. However I changed my keyboard settings to full qwerty for a bit and then forgot to change it back before the phone locked. Now I don't know which letters correspond to the numbers of my password!
Is there anyone else out there wondering what RIM was thinking when they forgot to put a decimal ( . ) key in the numeric and alt character section of the Storm keyboard? It is a royal pain in the a** having to go back and forth between the two keyboards when you are typing numbers with decimal points. Furthermore how do you get this complaint to someone that could do something about it?
I just completed a system upgrade on my Mototola Droid Razr. It now vibrates on any text input (Text or internet input). Phone dialer is ok, just all other word input. I have unchecked or checked everything that was normal under the old Android version. Currently using 4.1.2 android version.
I jailbroke my 3G using blackra1n on iOS3 and installed (IIRC BossPrefs although I could be mistaken)I used this to turn on numeric signal strength indicators (for mobile signal and wifi)I then decided to just upgrade straight to official iOS4 when it came out, thinking it would just overwrite any customisations I'd made. However, the signal strength indicators now flick between the official icons and numerical representations.I can only assume the prefs software (if it was Bossprefs) did something to the particular icons, and the official restore only restored some of them?
I've since re jailbroke iOS4 with redsn0w and found out that the prefs program I used is not compatible (it just starts to load then quits). I tried installing SBSettings and enabling and disabling numerical signal strength indicators in that, but it's to no avail.
im a 9360 user, i seted up for east asain language pack through blackberry desktop. however i only can read the laugages not typing. so i downloaded the all language pack from rim but my mac can't install it.could please let me know how i can set up using korean for input and display language
So basically I must have pressed Alt and Enter and the language options came up. I cleared that screen and now every time I go to type whether in an email, bbm, sms, or my browser I have a little EN box in the top right hand corner of my screen. And it's pretty darn annoying. How do I get rid of this? I've tried doing a battery pull, connecting my phone to my desktop manager on my laptop and unticking all the languages apart from UK English. And yet it is STILL there. It is driving me quite insane
I've successfully paired an Apple Bluetooth keyboard with a Blackberry 8520, but cannot use it for input. How can I get it to work or am I wasting my time trying?
I'm just newly entering the BB world, my first real major issue is adding Hebrew as input language to Curve 8520.Like to verify that I can read Hebrew on it, dont need to have Hebrew system, but all what i need is to be able to write Hebrew. Have to tell you that all the Multilingual softwares provided on the website for Curve 8520 dosent include Hebrew.
After running some updates yesterday, the "show text input options" is no longer available in the options. Neither can I select sure type when writing a message. Would appreciate some help.
I just got my BB8530, and I am using 6.0 desktop manger. The Chinese input is shown in the desktop manger, and it is already installed, but I can't change the input language in my BB.
I have set a password on my 8250 which locks and unlocks it. However when I connect to my computer Blackberry desktop asks me to input a password. When I input the password set for the 8250 it will not allow connection to desktop. I have never set a password in 'Desktop' and have even tried uninstalling and then reinstalling it but each time I attempt to connect it rejects the link. Any ideas as to where I can get hold of guidance on how to get past this problem as it is preventing me from using the Blackberry fully?
I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 and The a key stopped working, it wont scorll down in the bbm app, and some of the keys are being difficult, the back button is verry finicky as well. This all just happedned at once. I have not dropped it or got it wet. why has it just stopped working randomly?
Every time I press the A or E key, it repeats it and sometimes puts in a capital one as well. I've just re-installed all the software and it hasn't helped
My blackberry curve 8520 boots up but u can not do any thing as it has frozen I have tried the reboot but when it has done that the screen and keys will no do anything.
I have a fully up-to-date curve 9300 and blackberry desktop. I want to be able to read additional languages, specially Korean input. Is there anyway to do this that doesnt involve re-installing the OS?
