View 1 RepliesAfter updating some apps and rebooting, my curve fails to initialize. Tried removing battery. What next?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy desktop manager is indicating an update and it's a core application that needs to be updated, every time I try to apply it, it downloads all the way to the end, and then when it states: Waiting for Device Initialization, my storm never does initialize ! even though it has always rebooted properly on previous updates, and then the update window just goes away and we're back to zero point.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is my second BB 9000, and yet again, it's nuked. No accidents, good battery...just one morning it didn't want to switch on. The red light flashed for about 10 seconds, then switched off for 10 seconds. I replaced the battery with a new one...same result.Endless hours of research later:I did a battery pull several times. I then used App Loader to wipe the BB clean and install my carrier's OS (followed instructions on how to recover a nuked BB). Everything went fine until "Wait for device initialization", where it gets stuck and says "Application loader was unable to locate your device...click retry" .At this point, when the red light goes off, the screen comes on and displays the words "BlackBerry" with a progress bar underneath it...then after a couple of seconds, the screen goes off and the red light is back on again.
This loop continues indefinitely.I tried clicking "retry" countless times. I tried updating through BB Desktop Manager (latest version), it got stuck at the same point. I tried JL_Cmder...it won't locate the device on time before the screen goes off. I tried BBSAK, it won't locate the device period. I've even tried pulling and replacing the battery at different points in said loop. This is my second BB 9000 getting nuked. For no apparent reason
About a week or two ago my camera stopped working--I'm not sure if it coincided with a recent software update, or my switching the storage option to the extrernal SD card or something else, but now when I click on the icon or press the camera button, the camera app launches, but stays black (no picture from the lens) and all the options stay greyed out. Sometimes it says the camera isn't responding and asks if I want to wait--sometimes it just goes straight to "Camera is unable to initialize" and then go back to the home screen. At one point at the start of these issues I had it set to the "chat camera" (the one facing the user)--however, as soon as I switched to the forward-facing camera it went blank. A couple times since then I've gotten an image on the screen like it started to receive a signal, but then it locked up again as normal.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe stock camera for my Motorola atrix 4g is not functioning. When I pull up the camera or even the camcorder. The screen is black. As if there is something blocking the lens. The camera overlays are present. The shutter button and zoom in and out keys. After awhile,I get an error message "Camera unable to initialize" I then have to force close. There is nothing blocking the lens. I thought it was a software issue. I've tried everything. Factory date reset twice. Tried different camera software, removed the battery, power cycles. Nothing works. Everything else functions properly. I've been scouring the internet for a solution. There is no solution, only complaints from other android users with the same issue. I think it's a hardware issue. 4G Camera won't initialize

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am getting constant app errors and it is rebooting on its own. When I hook it up to the Dewsktop Software it recognizes a device with my PIN but never initializes and eventually stops. How can reload the OS if it never gives me the option or am I done for?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was playing TuneIn Radio and attempted to open the camera but received a "camera unable to initialize" error. I rebooted and got the camera to work but not when I press TuneIn Radio it does nothing. I seems like I need to constantly reboot the phone to get it to do anything. Earlier today I was unable to receive calls when the phone was in my pocket. I would take it out and the unlock bar wouldn't respond. I ended up getting a force to close message and this repeated multiple times, although I could call out. My wife keeps suggesting I take the phone back.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI try to open my camera on my Droid3 and it will either look like its going to load but then just have a black scree, or will just go back to the homescreen and show the message across the bottom of my phone "unable to initialize" tried restarting my phone a few times and still no luck. Really frustrating especially since I just got my phone about a month ago.
View 6 Replies View RelatedJust today at lunch I couldn't open my camera. I then powered my phone off and then on again and the camera was fine.
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust had a one-off bug on the camera. Whenever I held down the camera button, it would sit for a while doing nothing, try to rotate to landscape for a split moment, and then come back with a floating error: camera is unable to initialize. I tried this many times.
I captured a logcat using CatLog (the recommended aLogcat was not working well for me): [URL]
The logcat has been stripped of my personal information, and is only in relevant part.
When I tap on the camera to launch it, it would quickly flicker as if it were going to open but then immediately just go back to my home screen. "camera unable to initialize" error..I did a reboot and a factory reset it did NOT fix the issue. I am also unable to play any music.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Outlook and PC Suite, but to no avail.I'm using Windows 7, but, as I've said, it was all working until this week. View 1 Replies View RelatedDuring the course of the day, at least once a day, sometimes more, for no reason at all, I'll get a notification on my Droid Turbo that the camera didn't initialize. If the problem persists please power off phone. Well the problem always persists and I always have to power off my phone and turn it back on to get the camera working again. I've tried clearing out the data and the cache and it doesn't work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm a user from Portugal and I received the notification about the 2.1 upgrade availability today on PC Companion when I connected the phone to my Windows 7 PC.After making a backup using the latest backup version I went ahead with the upgrade. But the PC Companion, after the preparation phase, simply says that it's not possible to install or initialize the upgrade components (in Portuguese).
View 3 Replies View RelatedBasically the camera won't initialize to unlock the screen. I have to hit emergency call, then the PIN screen appears, then the emergency dialer appears, and I have to hit "back" and the PIN screen appears again. While the screen is black tapping on anything doesn't work except the silent slider. I have the button press developer option enabled for anyone who wonders why the dots are there. The face unlock had been working fine for several days.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that the voice input feature for text messaging (which I REALLY like!) sometimes appears to disable or something, all on its own, and when you attempt to utilize it again, it won't engage. Is there a toggle switch for this somewhere?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I haven't had any trouble until now with my boinic. I took pictures saturday and I just tried to take one and this is what I got. "Camera is unable to initialize". View 4 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing very frustrating battery issues on my BB Curve 9300. I bought the device a month ago and had a brand new battery installed in no later than yesterday.Battery life is about 3 to 5 hours at the very best, whilst I am not using any specific 3rd party application. In addition, the "clock" apprears on a very frequent basis, slowing the system dramatically.I do not have any files saved on the media card ... Wi-fi has been disabled already as have Bluetooth. LAt, connection the mobile network is fine so I do not believe it has to do with the device desperately seeking connection.PS: I am based in France with SFR being my provider.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI finally joined the BB community and I am really enjoying my 9300 Curve.Recently I saw that a friend of mine had the OS 6 system on and I have been trying to upgrade my OS 5 to 6. However,Things I have tried so far: I have used the desktop software's upgrade function to upgrade but every time I get the message that, there is no upgrade available. I also downloaded my carrier (MTN - South Africa) specific software the "9300M_PBr6.0.0_rel1879_PL6.6.0.124_A6.0.0.448" file and installed it onto my computer. I then connected my BB and tried to upgrade but was still unsuccessful.

I tried about 10x to open the camera, each with the same results. So, is this a bug?Obviously if I restart it should work again, but I'd still like to see this patched along with some other issues. If I try to open DroidLight, it immediately crashes as well, since the camera is listed as 'busy.'
I've a 9300 on T-Mobile UK with BB Worldwide booster, which I thought was for email. At the top right is "3G BB (icon)". I think the BB refers to the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS)..I'm in France and have used by BB to connect to the internet directly and also using it as a 3G modem via Desktop Software to my netbook. After downloading several MBs of data, I am relieved to find that although all the MBs of data appear on my account, using Orange france, there is not a single charge for the data. I am assuming that using the BIS also includes www data as well as email.
There are also some BlackBerry.net entries - which I assume are for the GPS maps etc.
I bought a blackberry curve 9300 4 days ago and today it fully ran out of charge. I put it on charge and now it won't charge or switch on. If I take the battery out and put it back in and then put it on charge, a red light comes on for about 10-15 seconds and then nothing else happens. Ive only had it 4 days and this has never happened before.
