I was using my Curve 8900 earlier today and it got hotter than usual and then I turned it off and later tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't turn on, I then removed the battery and put it back in, the red/orange light came on (where the light is that informs you that you have a text.. etc) and then it wouldn't turn on.... I later charged it and it is now working again, is my battery dead??
View 3 RepliesMy blackberry is not booting/starting up. Initially I thought my battery must have depleted, but when I connect my BB to the wall charger the red light at the top right corner pops up, its there for 10 seconds or so. Then the screen shows the phone is charging for 4-5 seconds, post which the screen goes blank, completely blank. I have left it for couple of hours, but nothing happens.
Everytime the charger is disconnected and reconnected the same thing happens.
Even when I connect my BB with the USB cable same things happen - Red light for 10 seconds, shows its charging for 4-5 seconds and then black screen. The phone is not booting/starting up even after I had left it with charger for 2-3 hrs.
I'm a newbie at Crackberry, but reading and learning since i got my BB, but got my account today because i really need help. Since a few days i have some strange problems with my BB Curve 8900;
- E Key is broken
- Alt Key is only functioning when using it in single use (so not possible anymore to hold the ALT key and type the symbols at the same time).
- Right Convenience key is not starting the camera anymore. I don't think its broken, because when my BB is asleep, and when i start pushing the right convenience key the screen does light up.
I tried a battery pull, but it doesn't solved my problems. I don't have any warranty anymore. So anyone with solutions, does a upgrade of the OS maybe works?
Just received new 8900 put in sim card and battery, connected charger and red led comes on for about 10 seconds then a battery with a red line through it appears on the screen. Can not power on. Is this icon normal when charging?

View 2 Replies View RelatedLast night my 8900 turned off at its scheduled time and I went to bed. I woke up this morning a little ahead of my alarm clock and waited for the alarm on my phone. Nothing happened. I picked up the phone and there was nothing. I plugged it in and found the battery drained all the way. This has not happened before but I also need to note that I did have trouble yesterday which I seemed to have resolved. I cant post links yet but the email folders disappeared and I did a wipe and restored from the last known good backup.
What is going on with this crazy phone ?
So expect a problem you've all probably heard of a thousand and one times!.. But do please help! This thing is very frustrating! I'm hoping there's some professionals on this forum!
Here's my problem....As soon as I turn on my BlackBerry, it heats up quicker than a kettle!
I bought a brand new battery for it today as well. So it can't be the battery.
Someone suggested holding shift, alt and delete (for a soft reset)...which didn't work/help. They also said it could be the OS.. but it's currently using the latest OS?! Perhaps I need a downgrade?! I'm really not sure.
my mobile LG3G, this morning it turned off like it was rebooting, so i ok ill let it go and be bk on after it, no it didnt it goes like its goin on to my homepage, then says android starting up and doin the apps etc b4 its goes to homepage, the thing is everytime all day, it keeps saying android starting up, like its doin the apps eg 1 of 138, after that it its been doin that all day, cant access any of the mobile as its still starting!

I always took the back of the phone off too so that it wasn't coming through 2 little holes through the top. Is the sound quality and volume of the 8900 equal to or greater than the 8300 with its batter door off?

View 5 Replies View Relatedhi. had 8900 for few months on orange uk with data plan. have been using email, internet and windows live and blackberry messenger all fine using either wi fi or mobile now all of a sudden its stop working and i cant use none. when i try to connect to internet i get a msg say this is a wi fi service please ensure your device has a wi fi connection , bb messenger wont send mgs or receive windows live jus says this service is not enabled for this handheld. ive contacted orange but they havnt helped they did say it could be a update of facebook causing problem?. have tried removing battery and restoring removed service books etc nothings fixed. can anyone help plz?

However whenever I check for updates via the blackberry site the desktop manger pops up and does not offer this upgrade. All it says it 4.6.1 (current) and the rest are downgrades, so I'm not quite sure what I need to do to get the new OS to even appear, much less download it and work.

My blackberry worked great until Google Sync was dropped a few weeks ago. Now it has been a major headache to figure out an alternative. It prompts me to use connect to iTunes . I have done all iTunes updates but it says it cannot be restored due to error 14.
It restored correctly once this weekend and functioned for all of an hour before it died.
I'm afraid I'm within days of the one year warranty. Because I live in a rural area I can't get to a Rogers or IApple store I cannot conveniently take it in for replacement or repair. Â
I've had nothing but problems since I updated to the os7.
