BB Curve :: 8520 Won't Connect To WiFi - IP Address No Longer Valid
Apr 28, 2012
I got an unlocked blackberry curve 8520 in February. I did get it from Poland but everything is the same. I don't have a data package, but about a two weeks ago I found out I could connect to wifi anyways. I did this and it worked at my house all day that day. Then I left and when I came back it wouldn't connect to the router it was previously connected to or any others. After searching forums I've tried changing all kinds of settings but they all seem to be where they were supposed to be. I did notice though when I'm in 'options> wifi> menu> wifi tools> wifi diagnostics the status bar says "IP address no loner valid" for all the routers I try to connect to.
I was wondering if you could help me. I have problems connecting to wifi when abroad, meaning not using anz carriers services. My phone finds a network and it is visible on the phone, but it is not available. As a problem it stated that IP address no longer valid.Could you please tell me what should I do? I am desperate as need to use my blackberry.
This is my sons fone, he updated his bbm (?) was asked to enter login details but the email address he used when he first set up his bbm is no longer working (cannot be recovered) I can't go to blackberry id site because the email address doesn't work so it's not like resetting a password. Is there anyway I can put in a new email address?
I have been unable to get my email address back ever since my latest BB device upgrade to a Bold 9900. I wanted to switch my bb email address which is xxx@mobility.blackberry.net. (note that those x's represent 3 letters.) When I called my carrier to ask them to connect that email address to my current PIN they said they are unable to do so, as they are getting error messages that emails must have a minimum of 4 characters, and that I must take my concerns to blackberry support. Talk about passing the buck, but I guess I will give it a try. Is there anyway I can get my email back or is it history?
The e-mail address associated with my Blackberry ID is no longer valid. Unfortunately, I cannot login to change the e-mail - I cannot find the password and the reset sends the password to the invalid e-mail address. If I establish a new Blackberry ID with a new e-mail address, will i lose the apps I'd purchased and installed through Blackberry World?
i have recently upgraded the software on my phone and now i cant connect to any wifi spots at work or at home. the wifi icon just stays grey but at the top of the phone, it shows i am connected to networks.
where i live i have no mobile signal and i rely on the WIFI to get my emails through.
When I bought this device, my wi-fi connection is doing well but after a month of using, I suddenly have trouble connecting to the internet. Instead of a green tickmark next to the wi-fi setting, it's a white dash that has been appearing. The wi-fi logo at the top of the screen is colored gray and there's a word "edge" over it.
i have been sent an mms but i cannot retrieve it and im also having trouble with the wifi, i have a home router and i have it up via the manual instructions, it will show the wifi name on the top of the screen but when i try to connection to the net it says unable to connect?
I'm trying to use my Curve 8520 to connect to the internet using my home Wi-Fi. I have not trouble connecting and downloading apps, or using web sites. The problem comes when I try to use one of the apps which needs and internet connection (Blackberry App World, Facebook, Google, etc.). All of these apps generate an error message saying that they are having trouble connecting to the internet and that I should verify my network connections. This leads me to believe I have a setting wrong somewhere.
i am trying to connect my blackberry curve 8520 to my own wi-fi at home, but it will not connect me to the router?its says to enter a pin to the router... i have watched videos on Internet and followed them step by step, but yet it still does not connect, this is what i have done:
-went to main menu -clicked on 'manage connections' -made sure the 'wi-fi on' box is ticked -then clicked 'set up wi-fi network' -scan for networks -clicked on the network which is my router -then it comes up saying
'provisioning wi-fi profiles...enter this pin into your wireless router: 18104707 time remaining 4:11.'
I already set up my wifi network yesterday and i was able to browse but it stopped working just this morning. It prompted that the available wifi network is available but each time I am attempting to connect it says: Unable to connect. Reason Failure to connect to the network.
My blackberry curve 8520 wont connect to wifi and there is a whitedash in the box when it should be a green tick.. I have airtel wi-fi connection and DIgisol router at my home place..
I have a home WiFi network and can connect my BB 8520 curve to it successfully and it is able to browse and use apps etc. How-ever everyday or two even though it remains connected to WiFi it suddenly is not able to browse. I need to restart the BB or Router or both and then it reconnects and can browse again. What could be causing this ?I am unable to add or be added to other BB's in terms of using the IM. Contacts that I am trying to add remain in pending (waiting for authorization). I do not have a data plan with my 3G network provider as I only want to use data related functions when connected to my home Wi-Fi. What could be causing the problem?
I cant get my daughters 8520 to connect to our home wifi. I have searched and found my wifi, saved it and it says connected. But when i click on the browser button it says unable to connect or sometimes just a blank white screen. I have followed the setup advice but no joy.
I've been trying to set up my email account through the wizard set up and have been largely unsuccessful. I read a couple of posts that have given a step-by-step process. My only problem is that I don't have an option that says 'Add account.' Here are the steps I've followed:
1) Go to Email Setup 2) Choose 'I want to create or add an email address. 3) Click next 4)Click next again 5)Then, I get a message which says 'Existing Users, to log in, please provide your username and password.'
I don't have an option to add an account. When I put in my username and password into the fields, I get a message saying please enter a valid username. (My service provider already set up my Gmail, and couldn't add the other one. I told him I'd figure it out)
currently I am running Opera mini on the 8520 Curve.I have turned on gprs & wifi. How can I make sure the Opera Mini uses wifi to connect to the internet? It does not show wifi or gprs in the right top corner.
We received a X6 32 with 1 year free Comes with Music. On going back into the Music store it asked me to register the PIN again, only to be told that although I have 362 days left, the PIN is not longer valid.I fear this could have come about from us putting another SIM card in the phone.Could this be the reason, and what is the solution?
I can't login my account on my Xperia. Let's just say I forgot my password and I tried using the change password but it said that my email address is not valid. I checked whether my spelling is incorrect but not and I am more than 105% sure that I used the correct email address because there is a link of my Xperia in the inbox of my email. Two email address I used doesn't work. This happened after I reset my Z2.
A couple of weeks ago my phone was updated to the latest system software, and now am experiencing a slight problem. My phone can no longer connect to a WiFi where the wireless SSID Broadcast is disabled. Once enabled, it will automatically connect, as if it couldn't find it before. Then, if I disable the broadcasting, it will disconnect as if the wireless were shut down. It didn't do this before the update. Is there a setting or something that needs to be changed? After the update, I had a setting or two changed, automatically it seemed, that caused problems (such as the Data Saver turned on) but this is the last thing I'm having issues with.
I got my neo v can't connect to any wifi spot..if it was connected, but it will state that connection limited and can't connect to internet and then after few second it will terminated and continue obtaining IP address. This problem will continuously repeated..its happened not only at my home, but also at other wifi spot. So I am stuck using this smartphone.
I've been trying to set up my MOTOACTV now for days. The first one I had I had to send back since it didn'thave a valid MAC address. I received my new one tonight and now it's telling me it doesn't have a network connection. I've tried different ports, disabled the firewall, all antivirus, etc.
My phone will no longer automatically connect to saved WiFi networks. It knows they're there, because if I go to Settings -> WiFi, it shows up in the list as a "saved" one. Tapping on it and selecting "connect" does nothing. I have to turn off the WiFi and turn it back on, and it will then automatically connect.
Additionally, WiFi will not stay off. If I'm some place I don't want it to connect to WiFi, I turn it off so that I don't get messages that networks are available (specifically when I'm driving, it's really annoying to deal with that over Waze).
I've got a Sprint GS5, running stock (not rooted), on 5.0. No updates available for the phone. It does this on every WiFi network I have saved (home, school, and school apartment, among others). I've also tried turning Smart Switch off and on, it makes no difference for either issue.
So my roommate thought it would be a good idea to try and connect itself. He ended up with some weird setting that made the wifi disconnect from the devices if they were dormant for more than 5 minutes. My phone went off line. I guess the setting was changed back because our other laptops connect and his iPhone connects but my unrooted HTC One on AT&T keeps giving that DNS error when I attempt to connect through Chrome or the stock browser. Nothing works...It says I am connected. It says I have an excellent signal but nothing will connect.
My Xoom post upgrade to 4G is now assigning the IP address of 192.168.20.1 to the device usb1 everytime it is rebooted. This apparently hardwired configuration conflicts with my homenetwork's default gateway. Is there anyway to change this with out rooting the device? I would rather not have to re-IP my home network or not be able to connect to any network via Wifi who uses that IP address as a default gateway.
Like many of you , I'm having WiFi connection problems with my new BB9700.When I am out of the house, I can see my BB finding local WiFI hotspots and I can connect to them immediately. However, when I get home, my BB doesn't connect to my WiFi, returning the following error message: Unable to Connect Reason: Failed to obtain an IP address I have downloaded the latest BB software (now running version 5.0.0.351), cold booted everything in sight (router, phone, coffee table and the cat) but still get the same error. My foot hurts, the cat isn't talking to me and I still cannot connect at home ! Of course my Carrier's connection works perfectly as does their outrageous fee structure... (They are 3G, or Hutchinson Telecom by another name.)My WiFi service provider (PCCW / Netvigator Hong Kong) has checked the setup of my system and reports that everything is working correctly. I can connect my PS3, my laptop, my Nokia E71 without any problem and the hotline guy can see when I connect each of them to the system.I have tried different combinations of switching the usual options on and off on the BB but still can't get a connection.
