BB Curve :: 8520 - Cannot Connect To Mobile Network
May 17, 2012I have a problem where I cannot connect to my mobile network - Orange with it saying "Initialisation Failed". I try to manually connect to the network but it can't find any "Scan for networks failed". It also has my mobile network down as Vodafone UK for some reason. I've tried rebooting the phone but to no effect.

Instead of a green tickmark next to the wi-fi setting, it's a white dash that has been appearing. The wi-fi logo at the top of the screen is colored gray and there's a word "edge" over it.

Mar 27, 2011I'm trying to use my Curve 8520 to connect to the internet using my home Wi-Fi. I have not trouble connecting and downloading apps, or using web sites. The problem comes when I try to use one of the apps which needs and internet connection (Blackberry App World, Facebook, Google, etc.). All of these apps generate an error message saying that they are having trouble connecting to the internet and that I should verify my network connections. This leads me to believe I have a setting wrong somewhere.

Dec 11, 2011i am trying to connect my blackberry curve 8520 to my own wi-fi at home, but it will not connect me to the router?its says to enter a pin to the router... i have watched videos on Internet and followed them step by step, but yet it still does not connect, this is what i have done:
-went to main menu
-clicked on 'manage connections'
-made sure the 'wi-fi on' box is ticked
-then clicked 'set up wi-fi network'
-scan for networks
-clicked on the network which is my router
-then it comes up saying
'provisioning wi-fi profiles...enter this pin into your wireless router: 18104707 time remaining 4:11.'

Jan 30, 2012I have a home WiFi network and can connect my BB 8520 curve to it successfully and it is able to browse and use apps etc. How-ever everyday or two even though it remains connected to WiFi it suddenly is not able to browse. I need to restart the BB or Router or both and then it reconnects and can browse again. What could be causing this ?I am unable to add or be added to other BB's in terms of using the IM. Contacts that I am trying to add remain in pending (waiting for authorization). I do not have a data plan with my 3G network provider as I only want to use data related functions when connected to my home Wi-Fi. What could be causing the problem?

Apr 28, 2012I got an unlocked blackberry curve 8520 in February. I did get it from Poland but everything is the same. I don't have a data package, but about a two weeks ago I found out I could connect to wifi anyways. I did this and it worked at my house all day that day. Then I left and when I came back it wouldn't connect to the router it was previously connected to or any others. After searching forums I've tried changing all kinds of settings but they all seem to be where they were supposed to be. I did notice though when I'm in 'options> wifi> menu> wifi tools> wifi diagnostics the status bar says "IP address no loner valid" for all the routers I try to connect to.

Dec 2, 2014My wife and I both have 2014 Moto Xs on AT&T, roughly 3 weeks old. My phone is 100% great, however her phone will only connect to Wifi networks if mobile data is turned off.
I've tried everything, and can't get it to work correctly. It will either show the list of networks associated with the device with the word "disabled" under the most recent network, or be stuck on the blank "Searching for Wi-Fi networks..." screen.

Jan 9, 2015My phone doesn't automatically connect to wifi when mobile data is on. I have been searching for a fix or setting since.I have ATT. My whole family has ATT. The kids both have 1st gen Moto X and my husband has Samsung, none of them have this issue and I believe we are all running the same android version.I have done lots of different things I have found along the way during my search for a fix but nothing has worked.
I can tell you that if I shut my mobile off and turn my Wifi on it will connect then I can turn my mobile back on and it will stay that way until I go out of my wifi range and the mobile kicks on then when I return to wifi range it won't connect. If I try to connect it will say disabled. That is when I turn off mobile, turn on wifi and then go back and turn mobile on again. If my mobile is off and I go out of wifi range it will connect back just fine, the issue seems to be only when mobile is ON.
I would like to be able to leave mobile on so I can receive MMS. But this is a pain because sometimes I forget that wifi didn't connect or I forget to go back in and turn mobile on and miss a lot of group texts, iphone long texts that come as MMS and pic texts until I turn my mobile on which sometimes could be days.

I cannot understand what the difference is. When I contact Virgin I can check the balance of my internet usage - this never changes. Unbeknown to me I was using blackberry usage which I could not check with my provider. I had the facebook application and the ubertwitter application on the phone. These are now removed.As I understand from Virgin using any applications on my phone will mean using the blackberry usage which will not be enough and therefore I will get charged. Blackberry is marketing these phones to my age group - early 20's and Virgin are advertising it with application use.

Apr 11, 2012I brought my BlackBerry a few weeks back, and brought the Data Plan (£5 for BBM, Internet etc for 1 month)... IT was working PERFECTLY until yesterday Morning... I woke up, checked my BBM as usual, Ended all the chats that were Broadcast Messages blah blah blah, and went to speak to one of my Contacts on BBM... THe message wouldnt send... I thought it's probably just slow or something.... Yet im still having the same problems now... Nearly 2 days it hasnt worked now, and it's getting very annoying!
Features that are being affected are;
- BBM
- Facebook App
- App World
- Browser
This is one message I usally get while trying to use the Browser:
"Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later.
If the problem persists please contact your service provider."
Another thing that's really annoyed me is the fact that most people with a Similar problem to my has "gprs" in Lower Case letters, yet i have "GPRS" in Capitals, yet still not working.. I admit, on the rare occasion i can send a message but it takes ages, usually about 30 minutes. No matter where I go, whether it's my house, the woods, the town, anywhere, im getting the same problem, whereas before, I could go anywhere, including those 3 place and it would be FINE!!
I've done everything I could, Battery Removal, Wipe, SImple turned the Mobile Network off, then back on... NOTHING is helping!!
Until yesterday morning i had NO problems what so ever, then suddenly I get this!!!
