I'm having problems with my daughters curve when trying to turn it on. When I turn it on it take 5 mins or more to load and then freezes when I get to password screen. If I enter a password no cursor appears and after a minute it says password incorrect. I have connected to device manager and the password is correct on the pc. I've noticed that the Aa symbol (caps locks) flashes on and off on when starting up. I have googled the problem with no success. I have tried a battery pull with and without sim card. Ctrl alt delete also failed. I have connected to device manager and deleted an app to see if frees phone up but no joy.
Whenever I try to reset my blackberry it will freeze at 75% and the screen will go off and it will do it all over again, when I connect my bb to desktop software it will come up with a message saying the device software needs updating during the update it says "reconnecting to JVM" and the desktop software will disconnect my blackberry is there anyway to stop this from happening.
after trying to reboot my Blackberry Curve 8520 it gets stuck on about 3/4 of the way though the loading bar. I've tried this at least 10 times and leaving it for up to 3 hours but it still won't turn on. After some internet researched I've tried rebooting it though the blackberry desktop manager, though the app loader. Which will work up to the point where you select applications and they are all grayed out giving no other option but to cancel. I have tried this over 10 times too. I have also tried wiping and restarting though JL_CMder but that won;t work because my phone can't connect to my computer for longer than 3 seconds. Please can someone help me because I've ran out of ideas? The term for this problem around some forums seems to be that the phone in 'Nuked'
I have a Curve 8520. I installed a new theme today. It was the Beautiful Sunset in motion theme. Since then, when my phone reboots, the theme with its moving water appears, but nothing else works on the phone. None of the keys work and the screen display, other than the moving water, is frozen too. I have tried taking out the battery, waiting and then rebooting. All that happens is that the theme returns, and is stuck again. I have attached it to my laptop, but the Blackberry Desktop Software can't connect with the phone. I tried the "Start Run" App Loader, but got a message telling me the "Location is not available".
blackberry curve 8250 on orange uk.it was working fine, until a few days ago it just showed SOS where the reception should be.the phone was an upgrade from orange.
i was told to get it unlocked so i purchased an unlock code but for some odd reason everytime i insert the code it freezes the handset.i have tried so many time but nothing, i still have 10 tries left.
I tried to download photos/contact details for the first time on my pc I downloaded the software off the Blackberry website and everything went swimmingly until it asked for a password. I have no idea what it is must have set one up in the shop or I perhaps did it when I first had the phone anyway I cat remember it and it is imperative that I do not lose the photos and contacts that I have must have had he phone for over a year. The phone is now asking for a password in letters -this is different to my usual 4 number access code.
my phone is not accepting my password and i am almost on the limit of tries i did disable the password thinking i would not need to sign in every time i put the phone on. when i want to use the phone now it asks for the password but will not accept it when i put it in. by the way it is the curve 8520 does anyone know what i can do to get rid of the password
Since yesterday I am owner of 8520 curve.I did set device password which I would like to remove. However, when I go through the menu to the option "Password" the field showing password "Enabled" is light gray colored and small lock is shown. I cannot change this field, no matter what I try.
I had a BB curve 8520 for past 2 years and loved it. Over Christmas, my son had my old BB and I bought a new one - exactly the same - the Curve 8520. Both operate on orange networks. My old BB was v4 new BB is v5.I have a personal email address, and 5 work email accounts - all of which have worked perfectly fine on the old BB. However when trying to add them to the new BB, although my personal account has been accepted, when trying to input my work email I keep getting a message that the password is not correct (which I know it is. I have even tried resetting my work email password on the email server). The email accounts were removed from the old BB when it was given to my son, and although they have worked on that BB for 2 years, I tried reloading them on his BB - but now have the same error message of incorrect password.I have surfed the net and can see this seems to be an issue, mostly for gmail accounts (My work email is not a gmail account) - but no specific response on how to resolve it. I have carried out all the checks such as making sure keyboard is set to right language, and font does not automatically set capitals as first letter, so that isnt the problem. The phone is primarily for business use - so I absolutely have to resolve this.
I have received a message asking me to validate the password for an MSN email account I access through a work Curve 8520. I have done this before without any problem but now my BB says there is a problem connecting to the server so I can't access my email accounts to validate. Email is still coming through on other accounts. I tried to use the PC and access through the Blackberry Internet Server page but can't find anywhere there to access email account settings (all the guides say email settings are on the left hand pane of the page but not on any page I have found?
Is there a way to figure out the password of a router that is already stored in my 8520 curve? Connect seamlessly with this router, but I want to know the password. It is preserved somewhere in the phone memory, but I do not know how to get to it.
I was sent a new Blackberry curve 8520 as my old one broke, and am trying to set up my email accounts again. First, I couldn't remember my username/password combination for BIS. I rang my service provider several times and was told that it was nothing to do with them and that only Blackberry could sort out the situation. Well eventually I managed to get in to my email settings and set up two email accounts, however there was still one more I wanted to set up, but when I tried to log in again it wouldn't work! Even though I used the same combination as before. Using my username, I requested my password to be sent to me and it said it was sending but I still haven't gotten anything.
My Blackberry Curve 9300 regularly reverts to a screen saying 'connecting to desktop'. The phone then 'freezes' on that screen and I cannot do anything and the only solution is to open the back, remove and replace the battery and wait for the phone to reboot. This seems to do the trick but it's happening quite frequently which is a major nuisance, particularly since the reboot process takes such an age. Is there anything I can do to stop this happening?
My bb curve 8900 freezes with a permanent white screen No icons no indication nothing I have to take it off by removing the battery then when i put back the battery i must put the phone to charge or else the white screen will appear again while rebooting?
I've been trying to set up my email account through the wizard set up and have been largely unsuccessful. I read a couple of posts that have given a step-by-step process. My only problem is that I don't have an option that says 'Add account.' Here are the steps I've followed:
1) Go to Email Setup 2) Choose 'I want to create or add an email address. 3) Click next 4)Click next again 5)Then, I get a message which says 'Existing Users, to log in, please provide your username and password.'
I don't have an option to add an account. When I put in my username and password into the fields, I get a message saying please enter a valid username. (My service provider already set up my Gmail, and couldn't add the other one. I told him I'd figure it out)
When I turn on my BB, the numeric keypad is locked (123 sign on upper right activated).I am therefore unable to enter my password which contains letters. How can I unlock the numeric keypad, as all the other keys are inactive?
I was playin with my girl's phone tryin to guess her password and after too many attempts the phone seems to have factory reset. The pictures are still loaded so I believe the SD card wasn't reformatted. How do I reset it?
I understand lots of people have had the same problem, but I just cannot find a solution which works for my Blackberry 8520!It has a white screen showing nothing, it boots once you put the battery in, and the only way to power it off is to take out the battery, I think it also keeps rebooting.I have replaced the screen - still white screen.I have re-installed the OS - still white screen
When I use the shortcut lock, my phone locks the keypad, but instead i want it to be the password lock. I used my dad's phone and tried his shortcut lock and it works on his phone. what do i do to lock my phone using the password lock?
So I updated my Curve to the new version 5. I noticed that there was no more Keyboard Lock/Password Lock. From my previous software, it was named Keyboard Lock and I set it as one of my convenience keys. After the update, I noticed that it no longer existed. A friend of mine purchased a brand new Curve 8520 with the update already installed of course. She had the Keyboard Lock but it was named Password Lock instead. I have been searching for ways to get this feature back to my Blackberry because I feel it is more convenient rather than the "silent/mute mode" button located on the top of my device. The shortcut to lock my phone which is the "A" on my keyboard quickly "locks" my keyboard only
I've got a problem with my son's 8520 When you press either the trackball or top button, the password screen doesn't appear to unlock the phone. I've tried:
The soft reset, the double soft reset Taking the battery out, leaving it for a bit then putting it back in. Plugging it into the computer, just results in the phone being stuck connecting.
I can't access the phone so I can't do a factory reset, unless there is some way of doing it with getting into the phone's menus. I'm not sure if the problem is related to a animated tropical fish background that he downloaded from the blackberry store, before the problem occured
