BB Curve :: 8520 - Screen Turns Blacks For Few Seconds
Mar 25, 2011My curve 8520(23BCFD52) has a wired problem. When I am using my phone, al of a sudden my screen black(dead) for few seconds , all keys are working at that time. after a few seconds my screen comes back. my phone also hangs all of a sudden.all this started to happen after I loaded my memory card.

Apr 30, 2012after trying to reboot my Blackberry Curve 8520 it gets stuck on about 3/4 of the way though the loading bar. I've tried this at least 10 times and leaving it for up to 3 hours but it still won't turn on. After some internet researched I've tried rebooting it though the blackberry desktop manager, though the app loader. Which will work up to the point where you select applications and they are all grayed out giving no other option but to cancel. I have tried this over 10 times too. I have also tried wiping and restarting though JL_CMder but that won;t work because my phone can't connect to my computer for longer than 3 seconds. Please can someone help me because I've ran out of ideas? The term for this problem around some forums seems to be that the phone in 'Nuked'

Aug 22, 2012Whenever I try to reset my blackberry it will freeze at 75% and the screen will go off and it will do it all over again, when I connect my bb to desktop software it will come up with a message saying the device software needs updating during the update it says "reconnecting to JVM" and the desktop software will disconnect my blackberry is there anyway to stop this from happening.

Sep 14, 2011I'm having problems with my daughters curve when trying to turn it on. When I turn it on it take 5 mins or more to load and then freezes when I get to password screen. If I enter a password no cursor appears and after a minute it says password incorrect. I have connected to device manager and the password is correct on the pc. I've noticed that the Aa symbol (caps locks) flashes on and off on when starting up. I have googled the problem with no success. I have tried a battery pull with and without sim card. Ctrl alt delete also failed. I have connected to device manager and deleted an app to see if frees phone up but no joy.

Jul 19, 2011I have a Curve 8520. I installed a new theme today. It was the Beautiful Sunset in motion theme. Since then, when my phone reboots, the theme with its moving water appears, but nothing else works on the phone. None of the keys work and the screen display, other than the moving water, is frozen too. I have tried taking out the battery, waiting and then rebooting. All that happens is that the theme returns, and is stuck again. I have attached it to my laptop, but the Blackberry Desktop Software can't connect with the phone. I tried the "Start Run" App Loader, but got a message telling me the "Location is not available".

i was told to get it unlocked so i purchased an unlock code but for some odd reason everytime i insert the code it freezes the handset.i have tried so many time but nothing, i still have 10 tries left.

Sep 1, 2011Once I take 9810 out of case, it takes 5-10 seconds to update current time and display new message if any. It also behaves similarly if it went into sleep mode and I press any button to bring it back to active mode. Sometimes hourglass is displayed and takes a while for this phone to become operational.This was not the case with 9800 or any other blackberries I had in past.Is it normal?

This is fixed by disabling apps as something it searches for. Open the search app, press the menu button, select search settings, then searchable items, and uncheck the box next to Apps. Whatever causes apps to take forever to load when looking in the Apps section of the phone's settings also causes them to take an unreasonable time to load in Google's search app.

May 20, 2010Have just got my new X6 and its great except that i am having problems with my connection to my bluetooth car kit. It connects fine and has paired with it but it seems to disconnecting every 25 seconds or so and then reconnecting 25 seconds later. Its driving me bananas cos each time it does it the radio cuts out. If i am on a call it seems to keep connection. I fell i may have missed a setting somewhere but cant find anything about this.

Aug 24, 2010If anyone out there could lend me a helping hand with this. Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.

Aug 11, 2010I have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.

Feb 4, 2010Device info : Blackberry 8900 v4.6.1.199 (Platform 4.2.0.102)I bought my blackberry curve couple of days ago and everything is fine but what happens sometimes is that the screen swtiches off like when you put it in the cover for example but the problem is that while I am using it suddenly the screen switches off (goes blank) and I try pressing buttons or the track ball or the lock button .. nothing happens .. I wait couple of more seconds and then the screen comes back and I continue using it normally. It is happening alot now , do you think it is a software problem or not ?Does the cover that came with the blackberry curve has to do with it ? Like a magnetic thing or something ?
