The curve worked fine until about a week ago now it wont let me send or receive mails, when I try to set up email settings it replies (after a long while of trying) I contacted my provider who told me to try a couple of things which included removing the battery and I could keep contacting them but it will cost a fortune eventually.
I am a total tech dummy and can't figure out what happened. I just stopping receiving and being able to send e-mails. Phone and texts still work fine. I have a signal.Only things I tried was turning it off and then on. Also took out and replace battery.
Okay, I recently got a replacement blackberry and used the device switch wizard to switch from my old Blackberry 8520 to my new Blackberry 8520. At first, I had a few problems with the Twitter and Facebook apps, but thanks to rcnathan, that's under control.
But now there's a new problem: email. Neither of my email addresses work (@*.blackberry.net or my personal email) and anytime I try to send something, a red X immediately appears next to it.
I'm a carpet cleaner. People send me emails and ask what will this or that cost. when I'm in the field I don't want to clack away a long response so I created three or four paragraphs telling about my services and send them in emails to my phone. right now they are residing in my messages folder on my desk top. I created a blank folder next to it called email messages. I want to put my info blurbs in there but don't know how to do it. then, when a prospect sends my bb a message saying how much do you charge, I can shoot them a paragraph about me and try to hook em.
can you give me a step by step how to do this? I have an 8530 curve.
I have an annoyance I wish to get fixed. When I am sending an email through the browser, not the blackberry's integrated email function, after the message is sent, the recipient recieves 10-20 messages. I sent an email to my work boss and he recieved 110 copies of the exact same email. YES, I only hit send once. This occurs with outlook express online, using two different email accounts from two different websites.
I tested this out again just now, and sure enough, I got 12 copies of my test email to my personal account. My phone was telling me I have all 5 connectivity bars when I sent the message. If I were to guess, this would be a connectivity issue or maybe something involving my wireless carrier, but I figured here would be a good place to start
Blackberry Curve 8520

I have a 8520 and recently updated my software. After I did this my email envelope has disappeared. I have replaced my original settings and nothing. I do receive emails but in the general message envelope.
I have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL184.108.40.206_A220.127.116.119_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.
I'm trying to send email from Outlook using Blackberry Desktop V6.2010 - Mobil Internet and connecting to the internet via Blackberry Curve and the email will not send or receive (within Outlook). It stays in the outbox and does not send. Are there any special settings that I need to change to make this work.I am connected to the internet and can brouse various web sites so I'm not sure why email will not send
Iam receiving notifications that I have to update my facebook ap.. when I get to myworld to check it... Its requiring me for my log in BB ID username (which automatically puts in my email address)... I forgot my password so I had it reset. But its not sending any email confirmation for the password change.
I used a Storm for the last 30 days, and had 3 distinct and separate icons: Messages - catchall for everything Desktop email icon 2nd/personal email icon However, I switched back to the Curve (8530) because of the keyboard, and now I don't have a primary desktop email icon. The only way to view work email is to use the messages icon where everything else goes as well. Is there any way to create or separate the two email accounts so I can view the work email separately?
I live in Panama, and I use Telefonica services.Currently I have two accounts already set up on my phone, one is hotmail and the other of my university where I live.I want to add a new email account at Setup-Email Settings and it send me to the page = if you want to access your email settings or you changed your device log in. how can I add a new email account?
I have a Curve 8900 running v18.104.22.168...I am on an Enterprise Data plan, with emails synched up to both my office outlook email, and my personal yahoo email. At around 11:30 yesterday, my yahoo email stopped sending/receiving/synching with my BB, but my office outlook email is working fine.
I tried to go into Email setup with the setup wizard, to see if maybe I had to delete and re-add my yahoo email account, but after about 60 seconds with a load message "connecting to email settings" I got a message that said "Your devide had a problem connecting to the server" with retry and cancel button - I retried with no avail. Not the most tech savvy person here, but was wondering if this is a problem on my end? Or something on the BB side?
I have a Curve 8520 from TMobile (US).I also had a Pearl 8100 from Fido (Canada).I got the Curve unlocked and want to use it on the Fido network instead of the Pearl. I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email. When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.
I recieved my Curve 8520 6 days ago and I am still waiting on my service provider contacting me about the Blackberry Tariff HOWEVER when setting up my phone using the Wizard Setup I did not have two options for the email setup, only Enterprise Email Activation...I have never had one, this is my first Blackberry. How do I apply the other option of Add An Email Address? Or does this mean that the phone has been used by someone else (even though it was bought from my service provider "brand new"), or a fault has arisen? What can be done?
Email Set-up. I recently bought a Curve 8520 blackberry and got it unlocked, I got problems regarding setup-in my email. I should go to set up. Click set up wizard then email setup. And only one is appearing in my device which says: I want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server.
The Email Settings : add more account envelope is missing ! I activated my host route table 100% fine, but I cannot set up a personal email, only a enterprise one.
Note: Some wireless service providers and third-party device manufacturers have processes called master reset, factory reset, or master clear, which erases all user data and settings for non-BlackBerry carrier devices, restoring them to a "factory" or "out of box" state. The wipe handheld command performs this same function on a BlackBerry smartphone:
I am using a Blackberry Curve 8520 phone. I can send-receive phone calls, i can send-receive SMS messages and I can surf the internet. However, I cannot find an option to configure the Email I only get the option of The Blackberry Enterprise Office setup. My provider is in Spain and is called www.HITSMOBILE.ES.I contacted them and they said it was an issue with Blackberry not them!I cannot configure the email setup, that i can receive Blackberry Update email messages only!
If i want to setup my email I do as follow: setup wizard - email setup - i want to creat or add an email adress - click next to BBIS setup application opens - initializing application and then get the messange your device had a problen connect to the server.
Over a month ago i started having this problem with my blackberry curve. My bbm wont send or receive messages, at all. So I deleted my only contact which was hubby, and tried to add him again, but the request is just pending and he hasnt gotten a message to accept me at all. Soon after my emails stopped working as well as facebook. I could not send nor receive emails. I might also mention that I have a wi-fi conection working, i can use the browser and all, but the wi=fi symbol doesnt light up, it just stays dull. So i deleted the email account I had on the phone and took it into the vodafone shop I got it in. I received the phone back this week with a latter telling me they could not find these problems and that the phone had been updated and was fixed. It was not. So i pluged it into my laptop, tried updating and all that, also brought £10 credit incase that was the problem. Still nothing.
I cannot configure my email on my blackberry curve 8520. Even though I'm connected to internet on wifi, when I go to the e-mail configuration area, it tells me that, "even though the mobile web is activated, I'm noy in a wireless zone". I don`t understand, because i can do everything else: enter the app store, browse the web, etc. What shoul I do?
I have just got a curve 8250 and can't set up my email. It's only giving me then one option to use a work email acc with blackberry enterprise server. No I want to create or add an email address at all? Does anyone know how to get bit to give me the 2 options?
I am trying to help my friend set up her email on her new phone. The settings is not giving her an option to choose which email to use. It is only giving out the Blackberry network and she wants to use her own. Do you have to have a data package in order to use personal email?
