I have A Curve 8330 with Sprint and have A alarm that goes off at 430 and 1030 AM and PM. I have looked at the calendar and the alarm its self and can't find out why. I tried taking it to the Sprint store and they found nothing. It all seemed to start after RIM did A update.
View 6 RepliesI am not real sure about the exact os number I am using but I do know its 5.0 something. I cant get to about screen fast enough to let you know. But anyway it is in a reboot cycle and will not stop. This worked great for 3 or 4 months then all of a sudden when I woke up this morning it is in a constant reboot. I have tried the tutorial blog on how to recover but it is not working. Anyone have a recomendation for me. or point me to another option to fix this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a curve 8330 and the voice activated dialing initializes on its own and loops in 3 second intervals until i do a battery pull. While the VAD is looping I am unable to make or recieve calls, it either disconnects me or mutes the phone and i am unable to unmute it. I removed the VAD all together using a program called MAXMEM, but the phone is still malfunctioning. now when i try to make an outgoing call it attempts to connect me for about 3 seconds then disconnects me. When trying to answer incoming calls it mutes the phone. I cant hear anything and the person calling me cant either. I went into settings and did a factory restore but it did not fix the problem. Is there any way to completely un-install the OS/software and re-install it? Im hoping that that will fix it. i have tried doing it via the BB website but was unable to.
View 6 Replies View RelatedLike many of you, I have my BB set to make a sound when I get a new email, voicemail, etc. Is there a way to turn this off so its silent so that the alarm function will still work to wake me up in the morning? This way, when you are in a hotel, you can get uninterrupted sleep, but still have the alarm wake you up.
View 15 Replies View RelatedAny ideas as to what I'm doing wrong here? Sometimes (about 1 day a week), I'll set my alarm, but it will not go off. When I look at the phone, it'll have the pop-up indicator thing saying "DISMISS" or "off" (can't remember exactly what it says), that indicates that the alarm was triggered, but it doesn't actually make the alarm sound.Any ideas why this may be happening? I am 100% sure the alarm is set to the right time, and the AM/PM is correct, and the phone is not on "Silent", but the alarm won't actually ring? It doesn't do it all the time, but maybe only once every 7-10 times I set the alarm, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why.This is a big problem for me because I don't have a regular alarm clock, and I use it to wake me up for work. Twice this month I have been late for work because my alarm didn't go off.Can anyone out there possibly help me diagnose this problem? I want to know EXACTLY how i should charge my iphone 4s. So far i have been setting my alarm to wake me up so i can disconect my phone to prevent overcharging. Is it okay if i use my laptop to charge my phone everyday, will using my laptop harm my battery,note my laptop must be charging also in order for it to charge my phone. If i leave my phone pluged into my laptop does my phone overcharge or does it stop charging when it reches 100%. and will leaving it plugged in affect my battery in anyway? I have read that lithium batteries dont overcharge but i also read soemthing that said it will mess up your batter, and is it true that fully discharging it and fully charging all the time is bad? and i heard that i should partialy charge it sometimes not to kill battery life?

I have just updated my 5800 software via the updater After update I have problems - anyone else also have these problems?in messaging the old software would capitalise on each new line the new software will not however if I make a space and then backspace then the line capitalises also if I go out of editing then come back to editing the new will capitalise .ALSO Problem with the alarn.When the alarm goes off I am unable to use the touch screen to stop or snooze anf the stop button does not work. I can only snooze till the third snooze when only stop is available.

- Alarm was set and was shown to be in use. Even the Icon in the start screen was shown
- Tried multiple times afterwards setting the existing alarm a few minutes forward. None of the attempts alarmed.
How I set the alarm is that I always edit the existing alarm, edit the time and push the alarm on.When I tried creating a new alarm (a few minutes forward), that ringed ok. But the existing alarm failed to ring

When I attach the USB cable to the BB the system tray does not pop up with a notification that says "found new hardware" like it normally does when you plug a BB in. When the phone boots up it displays error msg " JVM Error 513". I attempted to looking into the device by using "cracmem" and "JL_Cmder" and no data is to be found and thus there is nothing to wipe. I suspect that the device has already been wiped thus the no data. I have pulled the battery from the phone and reinstalled; unplugged the usb cable during the BB boot process and nothing is happening. The DM application loader will not allow me to procede due to computer not recognizing the BB device thus it is not generating the "USB:UNKNOWN".
View 7 Replies View RelatedI installed the BB desktop manager for Mac yesterday, and this morning connected to remove some apps, create some space, and install all the updates. In the process of this it mysteriously just stopped doing anything right after it said "database cannot be backed up" and shut off. Now it's flashing red twice, pausing for about 2 seconds, and repeating the flashing. I pulled the battery and sim even though I was sure that wouldn't do anything, plugged it back into my laptop, plugged it into the wall both with and without the battery, and nothing has changed. The desktop manager doesn't not recognize the device at all.
I'm using a Curve 8330. Is there anything I can do or am I screwed totally? Also, and I know this is a long shot, but what are the odds that I can restore the device and save the data that's on it?
I've had my 8330 Curve with Verizon since November 2008. Very happy with it. I also happen to still be using OS 4.3.0.127 (202), which is what the unit came loaded with. I never bothered upgrading because I would always hear of people having issues or DM only backing up your contacts and not your apps, lower music volume, etc. I don't really need Docs To Go, but HTML e-mail would be nice and the biggest thing is trying to improve these BBM delays I constantly get when trying to send a message. I'm thinking an upgrade to the latest BBM might help change that.
Of course, in order to do that, I need to upgrade to 4.5. So I've decided to do it, but not before I ask for feedback here. I've scanned dozens of other threads here, all with varying opinions. It's been long enough. Is it wise to do this and, if so, what is the latest OS for VZW (is it .138)? What risks am I really running here? Need a reality check on this.
I don't know if this is possible or not so I thought I would ask here, is it possible to alter the way the menu functions in the blackberry curve? in example, what I want to do is like when I send a sms text message and when I hit the trackball and the menu options come up, the send button is highlighted, and what I would like do is modify it so that the check spelling is highlighted first and then send button is right below it, is it possible to do this or is this an internal Blackberry Software modification?

I plugged it in for about an hour but the sign would not disappear so I did a battery pull. Radio turned back on, but now the phone will not charge. The lightning icon still shows up by the battery but it is stuck at 5%. Any suggestions?

View 5 Replies View Relatedset up some type of alarm, it's not the regular clock alarm nor the calendar alarm, to go off at 6:00 am. This alarm can't be turn off at all. I press and hold the start botton, turn off the cell, and turn it back on. Still the phone alarm continues to beep. I can't remember how or where I programmed this alarm to reset it back off. The only way I can turn it off is by removing the battery.

Sometimes the number icon appears so I can type in a time but it doesnt recognize it most of the time & sets some random time. I can do all of the other functions in the clock besides set the alarm. But now I don't want the alarm anymore.The only option I have in this BB in the clock tab is Weekdays ON / OFF [blue in color in the centre of the clock].I do not have any third option of OFF, irrespective of weekdays/weekends.But it still rings sometimes though being OFF for the weekdays & the alarm time in red still shows & the tiny alarm/clock icon even shows on the desktop.
I've done options of keeping the alarm silent & all that. But it does vibrate sometimes. Sometimes the icon disappears & it comes back automatically.How do I DISABLE this alarm?? Just off it types, like we do in other phones!
