I have seen similar threads but am not sure if this issue has been resolved beyond "sounds like its just a bad card...
I got a new 2 GB Sandisk media card and once I installed it and turn on the phone, I get a warning message telling me there is a media card that needs to be formatted. I go to Options>>Media Card>>pull up the menu>>click on Format card. The phone freezes. I have let it sit for 30-45 min. I end up having to pull the battery. I have tried several times. I have deleted most 3rd party apps in case they were the culprit (they were not).
I've tried removing the card and blowing dust out of the area, pulling the SIM card out as well, but, frankly, I assumed those wouldn't work because the phone is recognizing that the card is install, it just freezes when trying to format. Interestingly, the phone is still "on" in some degree; I don't receive phone calls or texts, but my bluetooth is still connected as the blue light is flashing, but I cannot make outgoing calls with it.
One thing that may make my situation unique is that I received this card from a friend who pulled it from their new Blackberry Bold (9700). He did not know if it was formatted at the time as he immediately placed a 4 GB Sandisk into his and gave me the 2 GB. Could formatting on a newer model prevent retro-using in an older model? Can this issue be resolved?
I went to AT&T today to see if they could take a look. They couldn't tell me much but did let me try to insert a different disk - a 4 GB Sandisk. There was NO prompt when I turned the phone back on, and I checked Options>>Media Card and it told me that the card was already installed and I had X.X GB of free space.
I have scoured the internet and AT&T and refuse to believe that this is just a bad card. This has seemed to occur enough that if they are all bad cards, Sandisk is cranking out a ton of corrupt products here.
I've gone ahead and bought a 8GB Sandisk card because I don't want to be limited on the amount of music I can put on my player at any given time. For the most part the thing works(ed) like it was suppose to. Dragged over all my Media files from my 1gb and things have been cool ever since. Now while I take good care of my BB Curve 8320, it takes the odd fall here and there. Never enough to damage or mar the screen and these falls have happened WITH the new 8GB card inside.....up until today, when it took a bunny hop of a fall...and now the card is "Unreadable and needs formatting"
WTF? I'm all ready to format it, but whenever I try doing so using the Blackberry...it freezes. Whenever I try doing it on my computer...I get no response. I heard someone said to put it in the big SD adapter thing and try using it on a comp and formatting it there...I'll have to search for a comp with an SD drive to get that done in a bit...but incase that doesn't work...Do I have any other options?
This is absolute crap..when I opened the BB to see if the chip was dislodged, it wasn't...the BB won't read it now...it reads the other 1gb quite fine but not this one....and living in a third world country It's not like as is I can bomb over there and get another card for a decent price as opposed to purchasing a severly marked up one here. Has anyone ever had this sort of problem with any of the bigger model phones? I'm starting to think that this Curve thing is too 'delicate' for my liking.
I wanted to format my Blackberry Media Card, and restore it afterwards. I wanna make sure everything will be restored as it was including the calender, applications, contacts, notes and everything else. What should I do before formatting it to make sure everything will return as it was?
I know how to install the media card itself. my problem is when I put in the new card my themes and some apps wrer gone. Do I need to format the card transfer stuff.I don't want to do I need to format the card in the phone onthe computer and if in the computer "how". I am trying to go to a 1gb to a 4gb... I looked on the forums for awhile and found only the tutorial on inserting the card, I had no trouble with that. Also, sorry if there is already an answer out there.
So, I've searched, and I guess I'm not using the right terms, but my media card is having some problems. A couple weeks ago I added a good amount of music to my 4 GB card. Everything was working fine. Then one day, I had to reset my phone. Went into my Media link from my menu, "Scanning." Fine. It took forever, but when it was done, it wouldn't load my pictures after clicking the thumbnail. On top of that, the media player skips all my songs. I have to select each indvidual song or it will just repeat the song over and over with Repeat off. Looking at the playlist it just quickly highlights each one in the list and moves to the next. If I select each song it will play.If someone could point me in the right direction that would be awesome![EDIT]Also forgot to mention that I turned the phone off, took out the card, turned the phone on and used it for a while, turned it off again, and re-loaded the card. I'm thinking of just erasing the card and staring over.
My BB has been running really slow lately so I installed a memory card to alleviate the issue. It helped for a while but now I'm back to a slow crawl at times which has really caused some problems when VZ Navigator just freezes on me.I know if I can just clean the emails and text messages off the media card, but I can't figure out how to access the cards memory bu itself. I certainly don't want to clear the pictures off of it (it's only a couple but I'd rather not delete them) so I'd rather not format the card if I don't have to.
I installed a memory card to my blackberry curve. Under status for media card, it says that all the space is free. But my bb shows that memory is full. It's doing that great thing where is randomly erases messages and numbers in my call log. I don't know why it is not using the memory card since i have 3.6gb free on the card. Any ideas?i love my curve dont want to upgrade but this is crazy
I am using w950i when I switch it on the memory is not loading. It just shows like loading after sometime it switched off automatically. Can Any body please tell how to format the inbuilt 4gb memory when the phone is the off mode.
I have created folders on my media card to store pictures. I can't find them - the folders or the pictures. The only folders I can find seem to be the album art that automatically downloads itself when I add music to my BB 8330. I can't find any of my pictures besides the ones that automatically placed themselves on the camera memory.
How can I make it so the pictures go to a folder on my memory card, completely skipping the camera memory? And then how can I find these individual folders? And THEN how can I stop the album art, which doesn't actually show up but makes its own folder on the BB.
This is becoming very frustrating as I thought I had followed a thread here on Crackberry and obviously have screwed something up. I hope these pictures are still there. I just can't get to them.
"A Media Card has been inserted that contains errors. To correct the errors, please use a disk-checking utility on a computer"I got this message after I transferred .rar theme files to my phone. I promptly deleted the files and did a hard reset, but I still get the error (and i'm not 100% computer savvy, so I'm not sure what utility to use!). How do I fix this?
I replaced my cliq with the cliq 2 today. When I moved my 2gb sandisk sd card into my new phone, the phone was unable to recongnize that it contained the card. It worked perfectly fine on my old phone, so I put it back in my old phone, transferred the files from the card onto my computer to save them, and then formatted the card. I put the card back into my new phone and it still doesn't recognize it.
I have an LG G3 and I got sandisk 128GB card. I have used it and it worked fine. Then suddenly it was dead - no adapter or phone or PC could recognize it.The store replaced it and I started using the new one and the same thing happened. They replaced it again and now I'm afraid that it will happen again.I suspect that it is dead once it gets to 32GB but I cant be sure.
My names is Jon and I'm new here I just purchased a Blackberry Curve 8330 (Boost) and I don't know how to turn the volume down or up while playing, when I press one of the keys it skips to the next song or previous but volume I just can't find
the media player does not work on the bb browser. everytime i click on "watch video" or "stream video" on Internet or tinytube, nothing happens. i click, and the media does not show up at all.i have a bb curve 8330 os 4.5.0.186, it was working fine for 5 months, until acouple days ago.is there a solution to this prob? i have a data plan and i love watching Internet videos, and it suks now.
i've never had this problem until recently. i'll go to Internet's mobile site, perform search, etc. and when i go to click on the video, nothing happens. the browser doesn't open the media player at all. i've tried with my native browser and evn with opera mini, which ultimately requires the native browser anyway. i don't remember changing any particular settings on my browser so i couldn't imagine why i would have this issue. any help would be appreciated. just to reiterate, i don't even so much as an error message. nothing happens at all when i try to play the video. it just stays on the same page.
Ok, media card was working fine, had alot of work pictures stored on it and was becoming a hassle to hunt through all of them to find what I wanted. So, I inserted media card in computer and transfered what I wanted to a folder on the computer. Then I formatted the card using the computer. When I put the card back into the phone, the phone knows its there, but I must have wiped the card completely as none of the folders for video, pics, etc. are on it anymore. If I take a picture and go to find it, the media card does not even show up, just device memory.
Does anybody have a remedy for this? I already tried formatting the card in the phone but that didn't work. The phone is telling me in the memory options that 1.8GB is free, so I know it works, it just lost the folders or whatever........
I bought my 9800 last week and uploaded music to it the next day. However, the sd card that was already inserted won't format. Every time I select the option, it says it has successfuly formatted but then the message pops up again to say that is hasn't been formatted
Have just bought a 16G sd card for my E52. I have read somewhere the card wont work unless its formatted by the phone, as it is not being recognized at the moment. I can't find instructions anywhere on how to format the card.Anyone?
i want to format phone memory as well as the memory card of N86 8MP.what all things will i lose after format.i got to know that N-gage will no longer exist after format.
I have a Nokia 3720 Classic which has a 1gb micro sd memory card which, as far as I can remember, has never been formated in this phone. When I tried to format the card the other day to increase the phone's memory I got the response "operation failed". I changed my service provider ( I live in France ) some time ago, and I wonder if that has something to do with it.
I have a Sony Ericsson X10, changed out the 8gb micro sd with 32 one. Phone won't read it and states it is damaged and needs reformatting. Yet it won't reformat the Micro SD. Plug it into my computer and it recognizes it as a 32GB card. MediaGo recognizes it as a 2gb card. All software, phone and mediago has been updated.
My trackball always freezes if i activate the cellular network (vodafone)..without sim card the trackball is fully operative.i already updated the software via blackberry desktop software update and checked if the phone is really unlocked.
I have a virus on my memory card which has de-stabilised my phone, has it seems to be frezzing, shutting down and just mis behaving. the problem i have with re formatting the card is that it came with some system files. if i reformat through the phone , will it replace all the system files on the memeory card...
I know this might be a really obvious question for some but I thought I would ask anyway. I recently upgraded to an android phone but really don't like it and it's to late to return it. So, my options are to go back to my 8330 which is 2 years old and hope it makes it the next 2 years of our contract or stay with the Android that annoys the heck out of me. Is it possible to take the SD card out of the android and put it in the BB so I don't have to deal with activation fee's? I'm thinking that it's not possible but a friend insists that I can do it. Don't want to damage my BB. Thanks in advance for any advise.
blackberry curve 8250 on orange uk.it was working fine, until a few days ago it just showed SOS where the reception should be.the phone was an upgrade from orange.
i was told to get it unlocked so i purchased an unlock code but for some odd reason everytime i insert the code it freezes the handset.i have tried so many time but nothing, i still have 10 tries left.
