Jan 27, 2011I have a Nokia 3720 Classic which has a 1gb micro sd memory card which, as far as I can remember, has never been formated in this phone. When I tried to format the card the other day to increase the phone's memory I got the response "operation failed". I changed my service provider ( I live in France ) some time ago, and I wonder if that has something to do with it.

Mar 3, 2010I recently purchased a Nokia 5310 Xpress Music about a week ago. It is a great phone, but the problem I am experiencing has to with the memory card. When I try to format it, I select "Options" while "Memory Card" is highlighted but I do not have the option of formatting it. Is there something wrong with my phone? Currently, my phone is V 06.68, which I am assuming is the latest version, since I have the Nokia Ovi Suite installed, and when I select "Update", it says I have the latest version.

Aug 21, 2010Got my Torch last weekend and this morning I get the message that the device is low on memory and showed a list of 7 apps I could choose to delete. (deleted 2, mobile banking, social feeds) Also, the little timer icon randomly pops up while the device is on and I am doing nothing. My battery has also be draining it big time. After less than 6 hours off the charger and light usage I am down to 10% battery life.I have done several battery pulls. After reboot, my Application storage shows 312.1 mb free space. My media card has 3GB free, which should not matter.The only downloaded apps I have are basic:
Google Mobile App
Google Maps
ESPN
CNN
The Weather Channel.
Battery is now down to 9% as I type this. What is going on? This should not be happening. I have never had a problem from my 9700 or 8310 previously.

Feb 10, 2010I have seen similar threads but am not sure if this issue has been resolved beyond "sounds like its just a bad card...
I got a new 2 GB Sandisk media card and once I installed it and turn on the phone, I get a warning message telling me there is a media card that needs to be formatted. I go to Options>>Media Card>>pull up the menu>>click on Format card. The phone freezes. I have let it sit for 30-45 min. I end up having to pull the battery. I have tried several times. I have deleted most 3rd party apps in case they were the culprit (they were not).
I've tried removing the card and blowing dust out of the area, pulling the SIM card out as well, but, frankly, I assumed those wouldn't work because the phone is recognizing that the card is install, it just freezes when trying to format. Interestingly, the phone is still "on" in some degree; I don't receive phone calls or texts, but my bluetooth is still connected as the blue light is flashing, but I cannot make outgoing calls with it.
One thing that may make my situation unique is that I received this card from a friend who pulled it from their new Blackberry Bold (9700). He did not know if it was formatted at the time as he immediately placed a 4 GB Sandisk into his and gave me the 2 GB. Could formatting on a newer model prevent retro-using in an older model? Can this issue be resolved?
I went to AT&T today to see if they could take a look. They couldn't tell me much but did let me try to insert a different disk - a 4 GB Sandisk. There was NO prompt when I turned the phone back on, and I checked Options>>Media Card and it told me that the card was already installed and I had X.X GB of free space.
I have scoured the internet and AT&T and refuse to believe that this is just a bad card. This has seemed to occur enough that if they are all bad cards, Sandisk is cranking out a ton of corrupt products here.

My 2-year contract ends in November, but I am eligible for upgrade now. If I upgrade now. Does the new 2-year contract start from the day I upgrade? Or it's an additional 2 years after my expiring-in-Nov contract?
And why I am not considered "Add a new service plan" and instead I am just "Upgrade for existing customers"? The price point on Amazon is different these two types.

On Amazon I can only get a new family plan if I upgrade by choosing "I am part of an existing family plan" then I can only get the phone for myself. How can I get all the phones for my existing family plan? And why this option is $200 instead of $100 for existing individual account?
BB Torch :: SIM Card Error Message On 9800
Jan 24, 2012For last 2 weeks I've had a SIM card error message on my Torch 9800. It also shows an SOS message where the signal strength should be. The error message goes away when I'm in range of a wireless network which my phone has been set up for (my home, and where I work). Otherwise it won't receive/sent messages when I'm outside one of these zones. I've had tried opening the phone up and removing/reinserting the SIM card. It doesn't work. Now I have a phone that pretty much doesn't work, except in very small zones. What can I do to get my phone fixed. Does this sound like something I can do myself, or do I need to send it to RIM to be fixed.

Jun 2, 2011I've had my Blackberry Torch for a few months and it used to flash "Media Card Inserted/Removed" constantly (alternating between the two) untill I would just take it out and give up. Now it has got to the point where it won't read any memory cards at all. I recently posted about this and was told to format the card in my PC then in my phone, which worked great for a few hours then it flashed "Media Card Removed" and was not recognised at all after that. Now when I repeat the format procedure (in PC then in phone) it recognises it for about 10 seconds then says its removed. The media card slot doesn't appear to be damaged or loose.
