View 5 RepliesThe word NEXTEL is not on the top of my home screen anymore? I have full bars, NXTL next to them, and everything is working fine but I cannot get the word to appear back on my home screen. I've tried a reboot, battery pull, radio reset, etc. but can't get it to come back up. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Nothing is wrong with it, but it's kind of freaking me out.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to help a friend that has a 8350i from nextel Brazil. The problem is I can't get the sprint software to instal on it. I've even erased the entire operating system from it and used the BB desktop software to upload sprint's os, but it won't allow me. It only lets me restore up to the os nextel Brazil uses. He has a US Nextel sim card in it with the everything data plan. Phone and direct connect works fine but no data or email setup options.
Sprint store was of no help, they really can't do much since the serial number is from nextel Brazil. I guess my question would be, is there a way to bypass the bb desktop software to allow the installation of US nextel OS? or is it possible if he calls costumer service and get them to register the bb pin in his account he'll be able to set up email and data?
I've looked in some older threads and had no luck, thus I come to you with a brand spanking new thread! I have a Blackberry 8350i with Nextel Direct Connect through Sprint/Nextel.
Where I work, we are regularly using the direct connect to keep in touch with coworkers. As a result, a couple of issues have come up (and from what I've seen, I'm not alone)... I'm wondering if there are any solutions for these:
1] Direct Send My Info - Shows up every time someone tries to contact me via DC. Most of our employees still use the motorola i335 (or older models), so it may be something they have no control over. However, given how often the direct connect is in use, it means I receive 50-100 of these messages a day that have no substance.
2] Contact Issues - It appears that there is some disconnect between contacts and the direct connect feature. I have contacts stored (via Contacts App) with their direct connect numbers included. However, when they come up as having called on DC, their names do not come up. In addition, it seems that, on several occasions, my direct connect list outright vanishes. This is only mildly frustrating when 100 contacts are stored. It seems as though the DC contacts are not connected to the BB contacts.
i have a BB curve 8330 from boost. I was wondering because I wanted to know if I bought a BB curve 8350i from Sprint/Nextel could I used it with boost? The reason for this is I want to be able to have Direct Connect but my BB Curve 8330 from boost doesnt have that feature.
View 4 Replies View Relatedafter being a nextel customer for over 12 years i feel the issues with connecting etc have become too much of a PITA so i switched on a 30 day trial to the 8530 from Sprint. have to say that the first thing i noticed was the speed of online. I know nextel is not 3g but they are so slow. the threaded text is a neat option and in 48 hrs i have not dropped a single call. Gonna give it a few weeks to see how it works. Why dont they have a sprint/nextel hybrid blackberry? Dont think its asking too much to have a phone that just works plain and simple recently the 8350i is not that phone
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a friend who has an 8350i from Boost Mobile and is currently trying the tether software. He said it works great! My 8350i is serviced by SouthernLinc and I was told Tether doesn't work with iDEN phones? What's up with that? I'm going to see if it will work, if not, oh well. Any helpful info would be great!
View 4 Replies View Relatedis it worth upgrading from a boost 8330 to the 8350 on virgin mobile and does 60 include unlimited blackberry messenger like with my 8330?
View 6 Replies View RelatedNot too long ago my employer rolled out a two-tiered phone Nextel service for employees. Some get 8350i with a full BB data plan and some get Moto i456 with voice, PTT, MMS, and limited data (feels like GPRS). I am in the latter category. While I have absolutely no justifiable business need for a data plan I despise the crappy i465 with a passion that is difficult to describe.
I thought I would solve my problem by buying a 2nd-hand 8350i on my own dime and just popping the employer-provided SIM card in it. My hope was that I would retain what I need (voice, SMS, PTT) and be on my merry way. However, it appears that I do have voice and PTT but have lost ALL messaging capability, probably because the messaging the BB goes through their own servers and I do not have BB service. Is there any way around this dilemma? I do need both PTT and SMS, and the only two QWERTY devices with PTT capability are the 8350i and the i465.
had to reinstall everything on my phone. I had a backup file from Dec, when everything was working. Everything appeared to install without problem. Now a day later I go to send a Text message and I get this error. No MMS service record. So I check the threads and I notice I have to reinstall the services Books since I am on boost. When I go to services books on my BB it says 5 records. I delete those and copy over the combined 3 which has 23 files. However after they are copied over on the device, the device says 5 files and I get the same error.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to send a text message, I receive a message saying "No MMS Service Record, message cannot be sent. You will only be able to Save Draft".
View 8 Replies View Relatedmy 8350i will not accept service books. I have never received a text message. I have downloaded and installed combined 3 and still no results. in the desktop manager it shows 23 SB but only installs 5-6 SB. I have the latest software and still only a partially functional boost berry.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a Nextel phone, just got an 8350i curve. Switched the SIM card and calls work and DC, but I can't text cause I have heard you need a BB data plan. I have a data add on. The Nextel Online is Messaging involved with Text. The second has to do with data. Is it possible that I could just flash the phone like how they do for Boost and I will be able to text??? Cause what a phone if you can't text.

View 4 Replies View RelatedNow that Boost will be legitimately offering a BB, the 8330, is it worth getting rid of the 8350i? I NEVER use DC, and is gaining the 3g speeds worth losing wifi over? Are there any other details I left out that would be a dividing factor?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have an 8350i on Nextel and i have loaded OS 5 onto it. (a little background incase you arent aware.. Nextel has not yet released OS 5 but SouthernLinc has and ive been using SouthernLincs version of it for the 8350i for about a month or so with NO issues) I really dont want to have to reload my OS back to 4.6 as there are some major upgrades on 5.0 for the 8350i. You guys think it might be that im running OS 5? I also have the "Boostberry" configuration (aka i have a normal nextel data plan instead of a bb plan) ive had this for about 6 months atleast now without any troubles. So 3 times over the week or so ive turned on my device and had it "register with the network" then i go to compose a sms message or place a call and i get service book not found errors. I reload the service books and it works great for a few days then it happens again. You think its because of running Southernlincs OS 5 thats just not causing me issues or any other ideas of what it may be?? I dont want to downgrade back to 4.6 and spend an hour loading everything just to find out that wasnt my issue.

Everything worked fine on Sunday, however yesterday & today we are not getting emails from our company email accounts, the yahoo emails work fine and we are still receiving the emails on our computers. We have spent the last 2 days, on the phone with Sprint, at a Sprint store and on the phone with Go Daddy. No one can figure out what happened

View 2 Replies View RelatedI reformatted my BB on Monday, and reinstalled it from backup. Before that, when I'd get an email notification, the LED would flash red and a tone would sound. Now, nothing. I have it set up correctly, and even took it to the store today to see if they could figure it out. All other sounds/notifications work fine, except for email.

View 1 Replies View RelatedPhone needed a battery pull last night as it froze in the middle of sending a picture message. This happens a LOT I'm afraid. Typically, it boots right up, loads the software, my screen comes up, my icons come back and I'm in business. I am stuck in a boot loop it seems. The BB logo comes up, the bar loads about 2/3 of the way, then the red light comes on and it shuts off. Phone starts back up and does the same thing over and over and over. It also won't turn off (unless I just pull the batter out, but when replaced, the same thing keeps happening). I can't load the OS again through the BB Desktop Manager because the process is halted each time the phone turns itself off again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to access web sites from the Blackberry browser I get the "Unable to connect to the selected mobile data service. Please try again later" message. This happens whether connected through the T-Mobile network or Wi-fi.When I change the browser settings to the T-Mobile browser I am able to access web site just fine. However I would prefer to use the Blackberry browser because not all pages load correctly with the T-Mobile browser.
I have an active data plan and am connected to an enterprise server. My outlook and webmail e-mails work so I don't think it's a problem with my carrier. I've tried a battery pull, re-sending my service books, etc without luck.I think the problem may have started after connecting to my desktop for the first time in about a year, but I'm not completely certain. T-Mobile support and IT administrator have been no help.
My BB quit sending/receiving emails 6 weeks ago. I tried to do the setup again, but error message says "Blank entry not valid" even though the info has been entered (Email & password) I tried to get help from Sprint but as they aren't supporting BB anymore, they just want me to upgrade.I swapped devices this AM (8350 Black for 8350 Red) and the same issue on this device.
