Aug 22, 2010Can anyone tell me what Bluetooth device will work 100% with my 8350i BB? I read and heard many horror stories and dont want to make a purchase I can not take back.

BB Curve 8300 :: Tethering To Use As Bluetooth Modem For Portable Device?
Jul 27, 2010I have a portable device (Archos 5 UInternet Tablet) that uses the Android operating system.I want to tether the blackberry and use it as a modem via a Bluetooth connection. I've been onto the BB site and the instructions there speak only of Windows and Mac operating systems. I can pair the BB to the Archos but it won't connect and the Archos reports that the BB will not support tethering.Can anyone help me fix this?
BB Curve 8300 :: Installing Missing Bluetooth
Feb 7, 2010I'm trying to sync with Outlook 2007 using Desktop Mgr 5.0 (on XP SP3) to my 8310 Curve running 4.5.0.81 OS. I can pair devices and have the bluetooth option in Desktop Mgr un-greyed (so I'm running the correct Microsoft BT stack on XP) but I can't get Desktop Mgr to connect or do the synch. From reading other forum entries it woud seem this is because Bluetooth Services display on my BB does not list 'Desktop Connectivity' or 'Wireless Bypass' services (so I fail the device pre-req described in this KB article http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/viewContent.do?externalId=KB04132) How do I get these services installed on my BB ??? I suspect this is something to do with the fact that I was on BES, but am now disconnected and on BIS only. I did a phone Wipe when I switched from BES to BIS, and this has removed all obvious signs of the IT Policy imposed when I was on BES .... e.g. there is now no mention of Policy on the Security/General Settings screen, and I've had no problems doing other stuff (like installing new apps) that I was prohibited from doing when I was on BES. Any ideas as to how I get those missing services installed on my BB ?? Some way of forcing an install?

Jan 24, 2010I've become fed up with Roxio Media Manager as it crashes my computers. I read the instructions to access my media card via mass storage.
-mass storage is turned on
-Connectivity is fine via desktop manager so the cable is fine.
-auto enable mass storage mode is on.
-I use XP pro latest service pack and latest desktop manager
blackberry is fully updated.
Should I not be able to see the media card as any other storage device in "My Computer"? Like a flash memory stick? I've tried various USB ports and 2 different PC's with same result. Is there an alternative to Roxio? This might solve the problem but computers just are not seeing this thing.
BB Curve 8300 :: Windows 7 Does Not Recognize Device?
Apr 7, 2010I have been successfully connecting my 8330 to a desktop PC running XP for quite a while. The device sw is v4.5.0.175. I recently got a new Lenovo T410 laptop, running Windows 7. I have downloaded the DM software (v5.0.1) and verified that my device SW is up-to-date, but the laptop is still not recognizing that the device is connected (via USB). I've tried it in all the USB ports on the laptop, and also followed all the steps detailed in KB13146, with no luck. I can't find anything in any of the forums that reference Windows 7. Can anyone provide help to resolve this problem?

I bought a new blackberry, installed the OS from the Black Berry Website, but the desktop manager had no applications on it. My blackberry did not have blackberry messenger and notepad/memopad. I was able to download blackberry messenger, and that does show up on my desktop manager now, but I haven't found a notepad/memopad to download. Can anyone offer suggestions as to how I can get a notepad on my blackberry?

BB Curve 8300 :: Cant Upload Maps / Work GPS?
Jun 11, 2010Have a new 8310. OS is v4.5.0.37 Platform 2.7.0.55I'm in Australia, currently with Telstra but in the process of changing. Unfortunately I can't remember where I found the info, but somewhere on my phone it lists 'maps' & poss. program number or such - not in options or apps. It doesn't let me open it tho.When I go to the website & try to download maps, it tells me it's downloaded successfully, but my computer makes noises as if the USB is being disconnected/reconnected and the phone spends ages with a blank screen & hourglass before going to home screen, then there don't appear to be maps anywhere on it? I don't know how to get the GPS working - do I need maps to make it work?All I seem to be able to do is click 'refresh' in the menu & it comes up as 'scanning for satellites but does nothing else.GPS section says; GPS data source: Device GPS GPS Services: Location ON GPS Location: blank All co-ordinates, nuber of satellites, etc say 0 Location aiding: enabled.

Mar 23, 2010I have three email accounts set up on my 8330. I am no longer using one of them, so I deleted it using the email account setup application on the device, as well as going online to my Sprint BlackBerry account and deleting it there. The icon is still appearing on my device, and for some reason, is now the default account for sending emails. Since the account has, in fact, been deleted, emails don't actually go through from this account. It's a huge pain to keep remembering to change the account I send emails from. On a side note - I have also changed my settings to use a different account as my default account - it doesn't make a difference. The settings are right when I check them, but when I test them, the old (deleted) account is still the default. What am I missing?? How can I get rid of this account once and for all? I really don't want to wipe my device and start over...

Feb 6, 2010I use the Device Switch wizard to move and update file when I was going to change BB to a newer one. I went from a 7290 to a 8320 and when I went to use the 8320 it stared throughting multiple Uncaught Excaption: ApplicationRegistery.waitfor and Java.Lang.Error. The phone does not like to talk to the computer throuht the usb hook-up link to sync. This Phone is not going to be used for internet access through my Cellular service, wich is AT@T. The Phone was bought unlocked because I use the office features and I want to use the WI/Fi.The Phone was origionally a TMobile.The opperating System on the phone is : v4.5.0.37 Platform 2.7.0.55 The origonal Desktop softwear used was version 4.6 I believe, I now have Version 5.0 installed. I do not hve the origional software disk for the phone. I have gone through several blogs and found some problem that were close but wanted to make sure I didnt blast the phone. I would like to get this phone to function correctly so I can keep my work straight.

Jan 2, 2010I've got a few questions about my AT&T Curve 8310...I was looking through "Options > Applications" and saw that the app that took the most memory was "Content Store." Anyone know what this is, if I can delete it, & what would happen if I did? Is there any way to shrink this down some?
My address book takes up quite a bit of memory; so does my calendar -- both of which were synced from Outlook. Is there any way to have the addresses/calendar data stored onto my microSD instead of the device memory?
Lastly, I noticed that when I call people using my Curve, it shows up on their caller ID as "private name, private number." Where can I change this setting? Is it in my provider's settings (which I can access online) or on the BlackBerry's settings somewhere? Also, is it possible to at least NOT have it show private when calling those on my address book, such as friends & relatives?
BB Curve :: Bluetooth - No New Device Found?
Feb 2, 2011The Bluetooth on the my Blackberry Curve 9300 was working fine until recently. I am unable to pair my Blackberry with a Car Multi-media Kit (part of a McIntosh Sat Nav/Stereo system in a Subaru).I have tried both "Search" and "Listen" under the Bluetooth Options menu and get the following respective messages "No new device found" and "No device paired".
I recently deleted the previously paired Car Multi-media Kit (as it stopped connecting for some reason) but I am not sure if this is cause of the problem.There is no issue with the bluetooth in the Car Multi-media Kit as I was able to pair separately both an Iphone and an Ipod.

I was playing around with it and liked the view and some of the features that the new software has available (mainly the new clock that has 'bedside' options for use as an alarm clock and the look of the icons.). I downloaded 5.0 from BB website and when I plugged in my 8310 with software version 4.5.0.153 it displayed about a dozen updates to my phone.
