Motorola Xoom :: Shadow Border Around Screen Visible On Blue Border
Oct 27, 2011I always noticed a very subtle shading about a half-inch wide around the screen of my Xoom. In the last few days, I've noticed that it's much more pronounced, particularly on a blue background. It's very distracting when watching videos. I've tried various players, formats, etc...but I even see it on the home screen if I have a blue background set. Is my screen defective?

Sep 21, 2011I have a Blackberry Curve with OS 6 installed. I have a yellow envelope that has a white circle (and blue or green figures on the circle) on the lower left corner that shows where the message waiting indicators show up. I'm guessing it is an unread message indicator but I can't find any messages that haven't been opened. They don't show on the list of unopened messages either.

Jan 29, 2010I have a Bold 9700, AT&T, v5.0.0.602 (Platform 5.1.0.112)I will look on my phone and there will be the envelope icon telling me I have 3 messages (as an example). The message folder concurs, it tells me that I have 3 messages. Yet when I open the Messages folder there are NO MESSAGES. I check my 3 email folders and NO MESSAGES. These envelopes won't go away. I took the phone to the nearby store where I purchased it. The kind gentleman took out the battery and replaced it. That took care of the problem for one day, then the icon reappeared. I took it back and the lady told me it was a "phone issue" and that under warranty I should get a new phone. So I did. A day and a half later, more envelope icons. I'm not taking it back again.

I see the envelope at the top of the screen, I see a number (2) but when I try to see what the notification is... it says "You currently have no notifications".

Whenever I get a new email message (I've set up my Gmail account on the phone) the notification icon beside the envelope doesn't appear. I'm getting the mega-small icon in the top bar, but the red asterisk isn't appearing on my larger Gmail icon (the one that appears on the bottom dock thing.What's confusing me is that it IS appearing on the 'Messages' icon. Any clues as to why this is happening there but not on y Gmail mail icon? I've looked through the settings but can't seem to find anything.

May 3, 2012My phone functions normally, but there is a strange issue regarding the act of selecting apps, typing, swiping, etc. The touch response is acting very strangely because whenever I touch an app or anything, a border forms around the icon that I touch, and the only way to open the app or funtion is to do a double-tap. To select another app or function, I must first select the app to get the border placed around it, and then I must double-tap it again. This makes the whole process very cumbersome and irritating.

Oct 4, 2012probably since the last Android Update to 4.0.4, my Ray with 4.1.B.0.587 starts self-actuated a permanent reboot loop whenever I am crossing the German-Austrian border and therefore reaching an Austrian (i.e. foreign) network.
The loop restarts whenever it reaches the point where it checks the SIM card and then starts with a Sony screen like when I switch it on. The loop can only be interrupted by removing the battery. OK, also by going back to Germany. I have full phone roaming authorization from my home network (vodafone), yet for data roaming I need to purchase day or week packages. Up to that Android update, all that worked perfectly, including tehtering.
So, in fact, I am currently not able to use my phone in foreign networks.

Nov 6, 2011There is now a pale whitish band around the perimeter of the display maybe a 1/4" wide. The band feathers slightly to produce a fine white line along its inside border. I see it on the home screen and any other time there is a dark background. It is especially noticeable with the gray background of the settings-display-brightness screen and similar.
