how do i find a list of everything taking up space on my blackberry. im talking about the on-board device memory and not the flash memory, i need more memory to update my OS, and also a list that i'll be able to delete stuff that i dont want
i have recently bought a 9300 curve 3G , the memory soace in blackberry apps world on the homescreen , when i try to download a new app it shows that i dont have enough memory space in it. appahrently it apperars that the apps are getting stored on the device memory and not on the memory card. i want to transfer the existing appps to memory card and also want that in future all apps by default get sored on memory card and not on the device. how to do these two settings.
I am trying to transfer music files from my device memory to my media card, I have read that I need to go to Media>Explore - which I have managed to do in the past. I tried doing it recently and I can not find the Explore option.
So when I go to memory under the options menu, it says under Device memory that "Device memory cannot be read. Try to repair or format." Consequently I cannot see my pictures, etc because of this. Is the way to format it just to wipe my phone?
I have several dozen pictures that were added to my new Curve 8530 from my old phone before I had an sd memory media card, so they're sitting in the internal device memory. How do I transfer them to the media card, and can I "select all" to move them all at once or do I have to go picture by picture?
Also, I use Desktop Manager for Mac. Is there any way I can move them around through my Mac Finder? Would I have to disable Mass Storage? In what situations would one enable or disable Mass Storage and MTP? (OK, that's probably a second topic; but I haven't found a good explanation of what it is.)
Running Bold 9000 w/ OS 184.108.40.2061 on AT&T. First reformat both device memory and media card. Then issue a soft reset. Instead of standard reset, it performs a "Fast Reset". Upon viewing Device Memory, it states:
"Device Memory cannot be read."
4 GB media card is fine, without errors. In order to restore, it requires a repair. Upon issuing repair, it returns as successful (able to read & write to the 859.2 MB of total space).Does not occur with 220.127.116.114, appears to be a bug in 18.104.22.1681.
After installing 22.214.171.1242 update, I did a reboot (alt+right shift+del).Usually, the Bold take about 3mins to reboot, however, it only took about 20 seconds. I saw the Blackberry status bar flash for only a second.I felt the phone did not really reboot. I was also noticing some funny errors when accessing pics or ringtones.I checked the memory and saw the Device Memory as "device memory cannot be read."
2 "fixes" I found: 1. reformat device memory 2. reboot again, either alt+shift+del or battery pull
Have you noticed this problem as well? I found another thread of this happening on .681 without much help either.. Device Memory cannot be read
I have fully wiped the Bold and reinstalled 3 times. I can reproduce the error everytime.I guess I can avoid the problem by doing a battery pull every time instead of alt+shift+del...but that's a hassle.Suggestions? Maybe this is just an inherit flaw for OS 5.0 since .681 and .822 are both showing the same symptoms.
I just installed OS 126.96.36.1992 and runnin windows XP on my computer.anyway, for some reason I can't access my 4GB memory card using windows explorer like i used to. I do have "media card support" on, "Mass Storage Mode Support" on, and "Auto enable mass storage mode when connected" on.
Is there something i am doing wrong or setting that got changed?
I have an OLD (more like ancient) Nokia on Rogers on a prepaid plan. I also have a fully unlocked Bold 9000. The Nokia obviously has a SIM card, the Bold doesn't. Doesn't have any service at all. I was wondering if I took the SIM card out of the Nokia and put it in my Bold.. what would happen? I'm kind of paranoid about it maybe locking to Rogers the moment I put the SIM card in haha, I don't really know what would happen, I'm a newb to all this cell phone locking/unlocking SIM card stuff.
I recently inserted a 16GB microSD card in my Bold 9000 and I observed that my BB starts draining its batteries quite fast. There aren't any applications running in the background, I make sure I exit them properly, and I rarely use Wifi or Bluetooth. I am totally lost as to why it is loosing power so fast. Even after charging the BB to 100% after reboot and allowing it to stand, the battery still drains faster. If I do disable the media card support, everything remains fine and the BB has normal power drain. I don't even use it except for checking my mails.
all of a sudden i noticed after reviewing a pic i had just taken that my other pics were gone. I went to my options/ memory/ says "memory card not currently inserted in device". I can read the card find in an sd card reader attached to my computer but phone suddenly doesn't recognize. any ideas?
tried battery pull, nothing I have saved my files on the computer and reformatted then put back nothing.I have blackberry bold 9700
I am currently using BB Bold 9700, i want to transfer my contacts to my gmail account i tried using desktop manager and tried to sync the same its says it is processed but i cant find the list, I need the list in CSV file so that i can update the same in my gmail contacts.
I'm thinking about buying a bold 9000 but my main concern is the memory, as I would like to use it as an iPod also. I hear that the maximum memory depends on which software it is running but how do I know before I buy it.. I don't know anything about blackberries, I'm a newbie! the phone is off ebay and the seller doesn't know either.
