I'm thinking about buying a bold 9000 but my main concern is the memory, as I would like to use it as an iPod also. I hear that the maximum memory depends on which software it is running but how do I know before I buy it.. I don't know anything about blackberries, I'm a newbie! the phone is off ebay and the seller doesn't know either.
I buy bold 9000 few months a go from Dubai UAE market, i did not buy the network pattern together i am using my etisalat prepaid card. from begining i am missing someof icons like ( GPS, Memory card not showing also i con not go directly to memory card ) like nokia and other mobile shows etc could you please help me out to know whats problem in my phones.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy blackberry is going at a snail's pace...no, make that an injured snail's pace! I am at a loss as to why. I have very few downloaded apps: one or two games and a couple of random apps. My actual harddrive space is fine (859MB total/846MB free), but it tells me I have 0.0kb of available application memory. However, I do not have ANYTHING running besides what always runs like "home screen" and "phone" and "browser"...you know, the stuff you can't remove from the Switch Application menu. And it will seem fine but when I do open a program, I get the hourglass every time I click something or scroll.
To give you an idea of how irritating this is, it took me over 20 seconds to unlock the keypad, and another 20-30 seconds before the hourglass went away and I could move my cursor (slowly) to the app I wanted to run. And heaven forbid I run 2 apps at once. Then I've had to wait over 5 minutes for hourglasses to go away. It wasn't always like this. I used to leave all my apps running. I never worried about whether I pressed the EndCall button or closed it from the menu. Could this be caused by one of my apps? If so, how do I find out which one? Ugh I'm so frustrated! If I needed to call 911, I would be dead before I got my keypad unlocked. I'm not exaggerating.
Where is the slot to put the memory card in the BOLD 9000?

I do have "media card support" on, "Mass Storage Mode Support" on, and "Auto enable mass storage mode when connected" on.
Is there something i am doing wrong or setting that got changed?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently inserted a 16GB microSD card in my Bold 9000 and I observed that my BB starts draining its batteries quite fast. There aren't any applications running in the background, I make sure I exit them properly, and I rarely use Wifi or Bluetooth. I am totally lost as to why it is loosing power so fast.
Even after charging the BB to 100% after reboot and allowing it to stand, the battery still drains faster. If I do disable the media card support, everything remains fine and the BB has normal power drain. I don't even use it except for checking my mails.
how do i find a list of everything taking up space on my blackberry. im talking about the on-board device memory and not the flash memory, i need more memory to update my OS, and also a list that i'll be able to delete stuff that i dont want
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a question on the "Memory" usage in BB Bold 9000 that i own.When I install APPS from BB App World, it shows me memory bar and now it has reached to 10 MB FREE (IN RED - which obviously means it is too low.)
Questions :
1) Does this mean that I wont be able to install more apps as those 10 MB will exhaust pretty soon?
2) Is there a way to install apps elsewhere if the above is true? I have a 8 GB MicroSD card installed. Would it work normally?
I have a 16gb Micro SD card that Ive been using in a Storm 2 9550 for a lil while. Well ive sold the storm 2 and since then the card has been sitting there in a box. When I insert the 16gb Micro SD card into the Bold, It says a memory card has been inserted would you like to format it? So It then asks me if I would like to format either the device memory (Internal Memory) or the Media Card (External Memory) So I obviously pick Media Card, Then It says "Formatting Card, Please Wait...." My phone freezes up and does nothing, Ive left my phone at this screen for 30 minutes, Everything quits working. I have to pull the battery in order to make the phone functional again. Ive already tried wiping the Bold (Security Wipe) and I have also tried formatting the device memory. When I go into work today Im going to try and format the card with a co-workers Storm 9530 Running 5.0 Hopefully this should solve any problems. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Oh and Ive called up AT&T they said they will send me a replacement device so im waiting on that to come.

Application Memory, Free Space:6.2 MB
Device Memory, Total Space: 8592.2 MB
Device Memory, Free Space, 766.6 MB
Before I remember finding a graph that showed the memory usage and what was on the media card, but either I forget where it is or its not on the new .442 OS.Can someone please help me out, I did a search and came up dry.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9000 with ATT. I have constant low app memory problems. It is almost always under 10MB, and alot of times it is around 1-2MB. Here is a list of apps listed on the "Switch Application" menu: BB App World, Gmail Plugin, Home Screen, Visual VM, BB Messenger, Phone, Messages, Browser. I don't think any of these are the problem. A list of my downloaded Apps are: Atlanta Braves, CBS Sports, Weatherbug, ESPN, AP News, Google Maps, Bible App, Where, CBS Radio, Scoremobile, Stitcher Radio, Facebook, and Poynt. I assume I could get rid of those. Do you think there is too much downloaded? Is there a way to get rid of some of the defaults pre loaded apps such as: MobiTV, Mobile Banking, My Cast Weather, Wikimobile? Could someone point me in the right direction here.

I have only downloaded FB application and google maps. maps I use occassionaly while FB is always on. I have deleted all games but it doesnt help. View 11 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my OS to an official version 5 around 3 months ago and ever since I did that, my application memory seems to be really crap. Initially I had around 26-30mbs of application memory right after a Quickpull but now I only have around 2-4mb of app memory. It's really frustrating as using my usual apps such as Viigo, Facebook, Msn, Google Maps etc have become a pain and almost impossible to load. And I haven't installed any new applications in case you were wondering.
I have contemplated to downgrade my OS back to version 4 but was wondering if anyone here has encountered this problem and could offer any sort of solution.
was hoping I could live with this issue until 9700 hits the UK, but now seeing as its probably going to be 2011 before this happens, I need some help with my current 9000.It's on OS 5.0.0.592 and has 12452390 bytes (is that about 12MB?) file free. The main problem is, the phone is barely saving a week's worth of phone calls/emails/texts and I really need them all to be saved for at least a month. I'm a guitar teacher and I check what the craic is with my sutdents by going to their text number and reading back on the message history. But now, a week later and everyone's text logs are blank. I remember for the longest time, I could go back to the first message I ever sent, and I must have had about 10 apps installed. Now I only have GMaps, Viigo, Facebook, Google Sync and IM+, what I would consider essential to my daily workflow. I've tried MaxMem to clear memory, and that's after using that swiss army knife thing to brick the device first to make sure I really cleared the memory. All the tweaks I've read on this site were done as well.This is starting to get pretty frustrating, don't want to see that low memory screen every day, begging me to delete apps!
