I switch my SIM Card from one 9000 BlackBerry to a new one. I can't retrieve my contacts no matter what I do. My personal and business options are unchecked. The contact list remains empty.

When I use a card reader I can see all the pictures that I have taken but nothing of the contact information. A year ago or so I did use the BB Desktop Software to backup what I had in the phone at that time. However I was unable to view the result (I had expected that I should be able to print out my contact list or at the very least view it on screen).

The same thing happens when I downgrade.I am unable to make calls or do anything from the contacts list. The phone is basically unusable.
I have tried the upgrade and battery pull and restore from back up.Does anyone have any suggestions of what this could be and how to fix it.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've been having issues with my calls failing for about a week or two now. It doesn't happen every phone call. But when it does, it seems to be at the 0:22 or 2:00 mark of the call. Quite strange. Once it happens, it continues every call afterward until i do a battery pull.
And since I updated to 5.0.0.681 a couple days ago, twice or three times it's said "Invalid SIM Card" and I have to reboot my phone. Not sure the reasoning behind this. I saw a couple threads in the Storm and Curve boards but, didn't see any solutions. So, thought I'd ask here to see if anyone else has had similar issues.
I was using my Blackberry Desktop manager last night to move a video from my laptop to my BB Bold 9000.Now, in the move from my "computer" to a folder on my media card, it DELETED all the videos I had in that folder.I know there were there before I made the move as I saw them located on the bottom part of part of the manager. Then, they were gone.The reason I am in suck a worry about getting these back is they are very personal videos for me. (Of my daughters 1st words, steps, etc)I NEED to get these back.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have an OLD (more like ancient) Nokia on Rogers on a prepaid plan. I also have a fully unlocked Bold 9000. The Nokia obviously has a SIM card, the Bold doesn't. Doesn't have any service at all. I was wondering if I took the SIM card out of the Nokia and put it in my Bold.. what would happen? I'm kind of paranoid about it maybe locking to Rogers the moment I put the SIM card in haha, I don't really know what would happen, I'm a newb to all this cell phone locking/unlocking SIM card stuff.

I brought it back to canada and got it unlocked and now am using it on FIDO, no problems with data everythings good.I can't seem to add any international contacts on BBM, well thats a guess, I've only tried adding UK pins and it just stays in pending and the other contact gets nothing, they try adding me and it stays in pending while i get nothing. I can add all canadian pins no problem? I called FIDO they said there is no block on my account of any sorts so it must be on RIMS side, i called rim they tried charging me 49$ to "look into the problem", I dont have 49$ to blow, so is there any other solutions or anything before i am forced to pay it?

I do have "media card support" on, "Mass Storage Mode Support" on, and "Auto enable mass storage mode when connected" on.

just got a 16gb micro sdhc for my 9000, transfered all my stuff from my 8gb perfectly and can play all file off computer. but once i plugged it into my berry it said "A Media Card has been inserted that contains errors, would you like to repair it?" My provider is O2, and I lost my SIM card and so I had to get a new one to replace it, and after it has been registered and everything sorted out from the provider's side, I found out I cant make any calls, send texts nor receive calls on my phone! Sim card works fine, as I have tried using it on a different handset. So it is my blackberry. Is it the settings I have to change? I hope I don't have to send it for repair.
