Is there a gmail app for the blackberry. I have an aol email, and now a new email supported by gmail. I currently get my aol email on my blackberry, but can only view my gmail on the web browser. Is there a way to get both?

Issue is I'm not seeing any of my existing / read messages on my phone. After set up I had zero messages in my blackberry email inbox. How do I go about getting these message in my blackberry email?
I don't know if my thread title makes sense but basically what I would like to know is what are the advantages of downloading the Gmail app vs just setting up a Gmail account through my BIS (Email Settings/Add Account)? My main objective here is wireless contacts sync. I have read a lot of negative feedback regarding Gmail on a BlackBerry but I will not really even be using this for email all to often, although I will from time to time.
What I have done is just added my new Gmail account through the native BlackBerry email setup and then downloaded Google Sync. I downloaded the Gmail app but I didn't really like the UI and I like to have all 3 of my email accounts go into the same folder.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my BB Bold 9700 to the laptop by USB the clock appears, the battery icon shows a plug but then I get the message that it will not charge.The phone cannot be detected by the desktop software (finds it no problem on Bluetooth). I have seen that the mass storage function must be turned on. However with OS6 there appears to be no way of doing this as the media card does not appear in Options.

View 1 Replies View RelatedBlackberry Bold OS 7.1 Latest DM I have had my phone for a month and wifi sync was working fine all that time. I could see my home library and download from it as needed. Last night I tried to add an album and when it started to download it shut down and there was a message "missing files connect to DM via usb and sync. I could no longer see the option to "Show home library". The problem is that i forgot that I had deleted that album from itunes so they were no longer on the physical drive. I could not get rid of the missing files error so I deleted wifi sync application through DM. Removed all music and then synced up via usb again. I then reinstalled wifi sync. Now, I get the message "no computer library found". I don't know what changed but I have tried everything to get it back. It is a business phone so enterprise email and my business' IT policy dictates a lot but I do not see that this would interfere. IT policy has Mass media mode disabled. When I plug the phone into usb I have only "Charge only" or "Media sync" as options. If I choose "media sync" I have to enter my password and desktop software does not see the device. The only was for desktop software to see the device is when I plug it in I have to enter my password on my PC screen and not make a choice on the device (Media sync or charge only). It syncs fine through usb. I see my entire itunes (Or WMP I tried also to same effect) and I can sync the music I choose. But away from my pc and there is no way to see my home library anymore.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently had my Bold 9900 stolen/lost, although I have now purchased a replacement 9900 I want to try and track down my old one as it is not a cheap device. I still have all of the packaging of my first phone so therefore the IMEI / PIN etc. I have reported this to my provider (China Mobile) and I have a new account setup on my new device.I have sent a bbm request to my old phone hoping to get some contact but my joy, I am asking friends who have my old PIN as a bbm contact to try the new 'owner' as well. Is there any way I can find the mobile number of whoever is using my old phone so I can ring them? (I understand it may have been sold on but has only been 3 days since it was stolen/lost) or tracking the device? (I did not have any tracking software on the device at the time it was stolen).

But, how do I sign out of Gmail? I'm not sure if staying signed in will abuse my data usage (unlimited with Vodafone, but due to their fair use policy - it's technically 500MB).
I'm just using the 'built in' email tool to get my emails, not sure if there's a dedicated app I should be using, or even if this is considered an app... I know very little about BlackBerry's!
I bought the Bold 9900 - it has the enhanced gMail plugin preinstalled - which I havent used since BBOS 5. The option to archive, report spam etc are all there - all except add star.

There is a check mark next to the email like other sent email has.I don't understand why any email sent from my computer shows up on my BB in the first place. I have Hotmail and Yahoo accounts and email sent from my computer do not show up on my BB. I am NOT on an Exchange server. I've look in Outlook and can't find anywhere to change it. I believe that it just stopped syncing last week and I believe that it was following a Motorola update, but cannot say for sure. Under Data Delivery, both Background Data and Data enabled are checked green. However, this is interesting because Email and corporate sync is grayed out on that screen. When I go to Account, checking the sync options is not possible, but I can do a manual sync. Please note, at one time, these options to sync Contacts, Gmail and Calendar were available. I've pulled the batter. I really do not want to reset to factory default. Suggestions? (Please note this is a company Gmail account, not just regular Gmail.)

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to get gmail working off & on for about a month now. I have had a gmail account for as far back as I can remember. I have set it up on my 9700 and received the "congrats" email from the bb service, but never receive emails.
Created a NEW gmail account, and have tested from my hotmail account (which IS receiving and sending fine on my BB). Still not receiving gmail on device. Called T-Mob, spoke to rep and BB supprt rep. I recieved 2 or 3 emails that night (couple of weeks ago). Nothing since.
Can:
Send an email to hotmail account and gmail accounts from my BB (using a gmail account to send) and I receive them on my computer. I recieve the hotmail email on my BB, but not the gmail. No matter what I do, I can't seem to receive gmail on my BB.
I have:
•Resent the Service Books from both the Handheld and my PC (A few times)
•Registered a few times through the Host Table and got the registrering email
•Checked to ensure no filters interfering on my provider setup and made sure that it is set to "forward to device"
•Deleted the Gmail Account and set it up again - same issue
•Set up a hotmail account, which works fine.
•Confirmed Gmail settings (on gmail site). POP is enabled (recent)as well as IMAP
•Checked Firewall settings
•Rebooted my Blackberry by pulling the battery after most of the events above
I'm an IT Support Specialist, but just can't seem to figure out what the problem is. I am new to BB and new to the community, and I feel like this is just beyond my periferal vision.
just switched over from an IPhone 3G to a Bold 9700 and I'm loving it so far. Besides the SMS bug, the only thing that has bothered me is that my Gmail isn't receiving emails. I made sure I set up my account correctly and I even received a confirmation email, but two days after that and I have not received a single email. I have signed into Gmail from my computer and had multiple emails that my Bold never received. Any ideas what the problem might be?
View 4 Replies View Relatedi just upgraded my Storm to the Bold 9700 a couple days ago. When setting up gmail through the "personal email setup" icon on the 9700, I add gmail successfully. My problems are below:
1. Sent messages from my gmail account on the computer, do not show up on my BB. I found that gmail made the fix to not have them appear in your inbox as new messages, but the sent messages don't even show up with a check mark. I made sure the "Hide Sent messages" option is set to "No" but this didn't fix the problem. Is there any way I can at least view the sent messages with a check mark next to them on my BB?
2. While trying to test out different scenarios, I found that email I send to myself on gmail don't show up on my BB. Is there any way to turn this back on?
how can i set emails to only go to my gmail folder, instead of to both Messages and Gmail, im only getting the notifications for the "Messages" folder, but it's cluttered. I read something about Message List Options, but i cant find it anywhere. any ideas?
