Feb 24, 2010Recently I have been getting a problem with my 9700 Blackberry. When I make or receive calls, I can not hear anything out of my handset. The person on the other line can hear fine (Usually with me going Hello Hello a million times!) The only time I can hear anything is when I have my bluetooth on or switching it to speakerphone.
I tried doing the soft reset (battery pull when the phone was still on) ...still nothing. Although it did work a couple of times. Its on and off, but recently the situation has gone from bad to worse.Anyone out there with the 9700 with the same issue? It's really annoying and I do use the phone a lot for important calls.

May 24, 2010i know someone who jsut got a 9700 on Tmo and are running the latest official OS and she says her messages just dont open no matter how much she presses them, but bbm works just fine.

Feb 5, 2010I just updated my Storm to 5.0, but during the final step the program froze. I removed the wire, and had to close the program. The storm no longer opens my txt messages. I can go into the folder, and see like a line of what was sent, but can't actually read the whole txt.

Jul 21, 2010For the past week or so, my texts messages get stuck. What I mean..If I'm texting a friend and we are going back and forth, all of a sudden, the text msg wont open. I can scroll thru the list and open, reply to my other friends, but not the one im communicating with at that moment. I press the trackpad a ton of times and it just wont open. Even if I receive a new text, it still wont open.Can anyone diagnose this problem and tell me what I should do? I'm sick of doing the 5min battery pulls.

Jun 7, 2011I have a brand new, unlocked Blackberry Bold 9780 (originally a Roger's phone, now using with Fido). I was able to setup my emails to the device and can also receive emails. However, I am unable to open, reply or forward the emails. I can only get rid of the message indicator by marking the email open or deleting the message. I have done numerous hard restarts (i.e. battery pulls) and this does not correct the problem. I am using OS 6.0 Bundle 1879 which I just updated to today using desktop manager. I've scoured the web for answers and can't find one.

Apr 15, 2010I just got a 9700 this past week and noticed something that is a little odd. I have two email accounts set up on my BB, one is gmail while the other is my university email.
My emails seem to be reconciling fine when I look in the address-specific folder (eg, go to blackberry main menu and then the mailboxes with the little globe at the bottom). However, if I open the Messages (one that has BBM stuff, both emails, etc) app, all my emails are still there! Is this normal?
Also, I don't seem to be receiving any emails from facebook on my BB. I get them if I open my email normally on my mac, but they're not being delivered to my BB. I do have the Facebook app installed... is this the cause? I get notifications fine for facebook, just not the emails.

Aug 14, 2010I use Sprint and everytime I miss a call the Messages icon appears and does not disappear until I open the messages folder and open the missed call message. This is incredibly annoying for me, as I usually just press the send key and see what calls I have missed. Doing this does not clear the messages icon or notification.
I really dont need missed calls sent to Messages, the only reason I ever use the Messages folder is to clear the icon from my screen.Can anyone help me either disable this icon or alter what is sent to Messages?

Jan 14, 2010i've just bought the 9700 Bold today, and its great but i cannot seem to connect to the internet.. i press browser and try and get on the internet and it says 'This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again.'
I would love some feedback.. By the way i dont have any Wi-Fi, i want to use 3G.. there is a 3G symbol in the top right so it should fail connecting to Wi-Fi and go 3G?
BB Bold 9700 :: Handset Trackball Frozen
Apr 4, 2010I have had my BB Bold 9700 for about six months and love it for the most part.Just recently, the trackpad stopped being responsive as far as being able to move the selector bracket (cursor?) around to select an icon for a program or even move the cursor within any program.At first, waiting a little bit would help.Then turning it off and on with the red key worked.When that stopped working, I did a battery pull and it worked a few times.Then when that stopped working, I did a battery pull and held the escape key (the arrow that does the uturn right?) which I understand from the threads that I have read is BB safe mode.This did not help.Now it is frozen and I cannot get it unfrozen.The last thing I did was load a game (Final Fantasy), but I have been playing that for over a week with no problem then, out of the blue, this problem started yesterday.

Sep 13, 2010I'm currently unable to unlock my BB 9700. I get the password prompt but upon entering the password it just goes back to the locked screen with the padlock.Using Alt + Back button I can scroll through a number of open apps but can not open or close them it, then freezes and displays a white screen until I pull the battery.
Numerous battery pulls later and still no joy.The only change on my device yesterday was a number of failed attempts to download Docs to Go ver 2.0 from the App World yesterday. My BB does a scheduled battery pull each night at 2am and the phone has been like that since the last scheduled pull (forget the name of the app).
Edit to highlight - I know the password is working as it re-prompts if I type it in incorrectly on purpose and after 2 attempts asks me to type in Blackberry.
BB Bold 9650 :: How Is Voice Quality On Handset?
May 19, 2010Would be interested in your comments on the voice quality (call clarity, etc) of the BB Bold 9650...both in the ear speaker and to those with whom you are talking. I had heard that the voice quality was not so good on the prior Tour model and also found this to be true on an in-store test at Verizon. Would like to know your thoughts about how it is on the newer model Bold 9650.

Jul 23, 2010I have a Orange Blackberry 9700 which I have had unlocked. The phone is unlocked and reads the T-mobile SIM card, however I am having no luck at all with email and data facilities on the Blackberry.I have contacted T-Mobile and they have attemepted to send the service books to me however they are not reaching me. They have been through a whole host of procedures to try and get the problem sorted including doing a security wipe and also restoring the email accounts, I have tried to send the service books to myself through the BIS website as well.
It seems odd that I can not connect to the Blackberry Wireless Network because I my device pin is recognised on the T-Mobile website. I have tried to register the device using Host Routing Table but still no joy.If you have any clue as to why I can not access data services then I would really appreciate some help. I do have my data plan enabled, I know sometimes this can be a reason why people have this problem.

BB Bold 9000 :: Adding POP Account To Handset
Apr 22, 2010I just got a replacement BB Bold b/c my old one died. I have my work email on my BB which is on an exchange server, that works no problem. I used to also have my personal POP account on my device as well. When I configured my new phone and put in my old SIM card into my new phone my POP account icon appeared on my phone. However my device is not recieving any of my POP account messages. I tried deleting the POP account through "settings" and "email settings" but the icon still appears on my device.I initally deleted my POP and added it again anyway and it still does not work, any suggestions?

If you turn the handset off it starts again with the same screen showing download in progress.
