BB Bold 9700 :: Not Syncing With All My Contact Fields
May 13, 2010I am syncing my Bold 9700 with my address book on my mac using desktop manager for mac. When i check my contacts on the device, it does not show numbers in the 'main', 'other', or any field that has '2' in it.

Apr 19, 2011I have been having problems typing text in some fields. In certain forums, and on some sites where I am asked to input data, the keyboard appears, but when i type nothing happens. I did some playing and found out that although nothing appears to be entered, the text is in fact entered, just invisible. have password text set to visible in the settings, so that isn't it. And in most applications the text entering works fine.

It doesn't happen consistently enough for me to get into the habit of always looking at the icon and it's really annoying. What's more, if I *did* want a capital letter, and have held the shift key down, I get a lower case letter!

Oct 10, 2012When in Greek Display language (not in English) and in Contacts, Phone fields, entering of an '0' number, I get displayed a highlighted 'W' instead.This of course can be stressfully corrected via a copy and pasting an '0'char else use my phone in English Display Language.
Did anyone else, in any other than Greek Display Language have that same problem?
My phone is: BB Torch 9860, OS 7.1 bundle 2061 but I had that same issue with 1149 (as bought)
Xperia X10 :: Empty Number Fields Are Presented As SMS Recipient
Jan 1, 2011the X10 I have discovered something that really bugs me. When I am creating a SMS text message and select "Add recipients" my Phonebook opens and present a list of recipients. The problem is that at least 10 copies of every contact name (person) is presented as a selectable option, one each for every telephone number field in the contacts name profile (mobile, work, home, pager, etc) ALTHOUGH most of them are empty! Why is it possible to select Mr AAAAA's home number as a text message recipient when the number is not stated in Mr AAAAA's contact data (the corresponding filed is empty)?
I have appr 250 contacts in my phonebook, all listed with 10 times as possible text recipient although 8=% of these fileds are contains no number and are empty?

Feb 9, 2010I have a curve 8300 which used to be connected to my mobile account through my former employers BES which worked perfectly. I have now left the company so have switched it from BES to BIS using the same mobile service provider. Emails are not synchronizing properly between handheld and laptop and I am told by mobile service provider that this is likely due to the 'email settings' not being set up correctly on my handheld. The problem is that most of the fields that should be appearing under options/email settings on my handheld are missing. The device software has been wiped and reinstalled but problem remains. Any ideas on why I am missing some of the fields and how I can get them?

At first I thought it was a hardware or screen protector issues, but having tried other applications and UC browser, I did not encounter this phantom phenomenon.

Jul 27, 2010OVI does copy outlook address and Note fields on its base (and on the Nokia base), but NOT onto the mobile although Memory size is big enough (see later). Sync message is "success". I restarted from scratch to avoid all conflicts (Phone, Ovi and Nokia internet base totally emptied). Sync works OK and copies outlook contacts fully on its own base, but address fields are not copied onto the mobile (Telephone connected via USB)
The only way I found to get them onboard was to copy contacts (drag & drop) from Ovi onto the phone. Unfortunately, this causes all other fields (Phone numbers, E-mail) to be copied again as if they were additional fields and synchronization pushes all theese additional fields on Ovi Data base and Nokia data base. Finally I get a base not usable to be transferred on other phones. I suppose this is because Nokia software does not recognize Telephone 2 or address 2 outlook fields as such. It would be ok with me if I had a way to get all existing outlook address fieds being copied at the beginning. Thanks for any help

Mar 16, 2012When i try to ugrade my phone software i get the error message "Unable to install or start phone software update conponents" . i restarted phone, pc suite, reinstalled, but my phone is not getting upgraded. pc suit says latest upgrades are available. Even if i go for repair phone same option comes.
Hestory : last night i tried to upgrade my phone using Sony Update service. it ran upgrade and everything was new. all previously installed softwares are gone.
Symptoms: it shows android 2.3.4 version on phone but in PC suit while, upgrade using pc suite it says vrsion 4 .a .XXX , and upgrading to 4.b.XXX ... then it proceeds and fails with error "Unable to install or start phone software update conponents" .

May 10, 2010I have had my 9700. I just noticed today that the sliver pieces that separate each row of keys are fragile. I have one piece that is totally broken on both sides under the Talk and End button, another broken one under the Q and the lower left one below the Z key. On all of them but bottom one, they were originally hard to see. Not sure how I found them but upon closer inspection, more and more were broken. The bottom one actually sticks up some.
My only concern is that they are going to get worse and totally break off and then free for all on dust and dirt in actual keyboard. These silver strips look real cheap. Anyone else have broken ones in their keyboard? How have you solved the issue? Can they easliy replace just the keyboard at the tech center? I have seen OEM keyboards for sale too but not sure I want to try that myself. I am going to call At&t but not sure if they will do a warranty swap for this. My wife has the same phone and hers are all fine and intact. I think parts of this phone were made on a budget. Bad design with the keyboard.
