View 1 RepliesI have a Curve 8530 new running 5.0.1 and I can not get it to sync or update using the desk manager. My updates are piling up and I can't get access. During the sync (6 of 12) I get a crash and no error message number; just: 'Fatal error occurred with JVM'. Reboots don't work. I'm running Windows 7 Pro.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have made 3 attempts to update the device software on my Blackberry and every time I get an error message part way through the update then my Blackberry turns itself off and reboots. Error message: A fatal error has occurred while updating your device's software. Please try again. This happens at the same point every time - task 6 of 12 - reconnecting jvm.

I have a Bold 9700 which is in perfect working order. I have been trying for hours to successfully download OS 6, but every time I try, I get the same message: 'Fatal Error'. I've tried everything - uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting apps, etc. I can't get anything to work! It seems to start experiencing problems when it's finishing the 'JVM' stage (whatever that is).
View 5 Replies View RelatedDuring my first update using desktop manager there were 13 steps to be completed, and I had to disconnect half way through.
Now when I try to repeat the process, the update gets through steps 1-6 and right after reconnecting to JVM (step 6) I get a "Fatal error updating device software, please try again" I have tried multiple times and it always stops in the same place. The phone then has the radio turned off and I have to reestablish connections.

My Blackberry Bold keeps sending me a message saying my media card has failed because it has a fatal error. I have lost my photos and music. What do I do to repair?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAlright, a friend of mine gave me a Blackberry Bold 9700 after unlocking it, which is awesome. What's not so awesome is that when I first turned it on, it informed me that the media card could not be accessed due to a fatal error. So I checked the card, made sure it was properly inserted, then went to the options menu and tried to format and repair the card, both of which failed. So I tried pulling the battery and that didn't work, either. Unfortunately, I don't have a card reader to actually check this out on my PC.I saw that there were other posts on here from people with similar issues, but I couldn't find a clear answer as to what works to resolve this.

I've tried to format the card and get the following message 'media card format failed'. I've tried rebooting phone etc with no results is it worth exchanging the card or shall I just throw the phone in the bin and buy an IPhone?

I have an iPhone from Verizon which will not update to 5.1.1. The software update is listed in Settings > General > Software Update on the phone. When I click "Install Now", I accept the license agreement, the phone 'verifies' the update and then I get a dialog box with "Unable to install Update. An error occurred installing IOS 5.1.1" And that's it - no dice. My phone is *not* jailbroken and my network connection works fine.

iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1
Once i click 'update now', it allows me to agree to terms and conditions, but once i select 'agree' it comes up with, "Unable to install update, An error occurred installing iOS 8.1.1". this happens every time i try to update.

So I plugged my x10 into the computer today to update the software. PC Companion did nothing for me when I used it before, so I used the update service directly from SE. Unfortunately, wasn't available this time, so I gave using PC Companion another shot. So my phone got about halfway through the update process before saying an error occurred, and the update couldn't be completed. So I went back a step and redid the prepping 3 times in a row, each time telling me to go back. Now my phone wont even turn on, I feel a vibration when I press the on button but that's it. The computer isn't even recognizing the phone as an x10 anymore, and whenever I try to do PCC recognition, it won't connect. SO all in all, PC Companion screwed me over.

Please check the information and try again. If the error persists, inform the subscriber to contact their email account provider." I've never encountered this problem until now. Have been using the blackberry for 2 years now. I've been re-setting my e-mail account off and on when I have problem receiving mails. But since deleting the e-mail from the web this afternoon, I can't seem to re-set it again. Please help. Maxis technical people have tried and there's nothing they could do. My web-hosting guys checked on their end and everything is clear. I have tried setting the same e-mail on iPad and it works. It's a blackberry problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy 9700 bold was working pretty slow so I plugged it into my boyfriend's PC and checked for a software update, there was one so I installed it. Everything went fine, this time the update didn't crash my blackberry like it had with my previous Blackberry Curve.I've noticed though that my calendar is no longer working properly. I now have TWO notifications of the same reminder/appointment instead of one even though I've only entered one reminder/appointment. Instead of having one calendar alert box, it says there's two. I normally just hit dismiss, which dismisses both notifications but this morning I just hit "snooze" when I did that, the second notification popped up the SAME notification I had just snoozed for 5minutes.How do I change this? It's not a huge problem, just a little annoying and I'm worried the glitch will cause problems down the road. This is my 3rd Blackberry in ONE year as it is..I need this to work properly. I can't afford to go out and buy ANOTHER Blackberry. This one already crashed when I originally installed the Twitter app from RIM, a month after I bought it!
Also after the update, does anyone else's top shortcuts that used to be "keylock" and "silent mode" now only have keylock(which no longer turns the screen on with your owner info) and the other shortcut is totally blank. Is there a way to change this? I liked having the keylock on but being able to bring the screen up to see if I have messages.Plus, I no longer hear my phone ring if it's in Locked mode..which is a pain in the **bleep**.
I kept getting this error message when attempted to download software update for my Blackberry Bold 9700 via Blackberry Desktop Manager V5.01."An error has occured while downloading software for your device. Please verify your internet connection or try again later, if the problem persists."
My laptop was definitely connected to the internet because I was browsing while trying to update. The Desktop Manager itself recognises that it is connected to the internet, because it scanned for updates for itself on the internet and updated succefully. But when it came to downloading updates for my blackberry handset. It became oblivion to the fact that it was connected to the internet and kept giving me this senseless error report!
My app world on the 9780 has not been working. First it would ask me to login after which it would just show me my details and not download. After downloading the application again it just tells me, "An error has occurred. Please try again later. This has been going on for four days now.
