Sep 27, 2011I recently had my Bold 9900 stolen/lost, although I have now purchased a replacement 9900 I want to try and track down my old one as it is not a cheap device. I still have all of the packaging of my first phone so therefore the IMEI / PIN etc. I have reported this to my provider (China Mobile) and I have a new account setup on my new device.I have sent a bbm request to my old phone hoping to get some contact but my joy, I am asking friends who have my old PIN as a bbm contact to try the new 'owner' as well. Is there any way I can find the mobile number of whoever is using my old phone so I can ring them? (I understand it may have been sold on but has only been 3 days since it was stolen/lost) or tracking the device? (I did not have any tracking software on the device at the time it was stolen).

Jan 10, 2010I work out in the middle of nowhere quite often, where phone signal is either very weak, or non-existent. (I am with Orange BTW). The problem seems to be that when I have been out of signal range for a while, (shortest period so far about 30 mins), and I come back into range, my BB doesn't automatically pick the signal up. The only way that I know to re-gain the signal, is to turn the phone off (red button not battery re-boot!) and back on again. The phone then finds the signal and everything is normal again......that is until I go out of range again! Is there a shortcut to re capture the mobile signal rather than off/on?

Nov 3, 2011Recently the data on my 9700 will not switch from WiFi to cellular. If it's attached to a WiFi network, everything works fine. However when I leave that network and the BB needs to use EDGE/3G it does nothing. It will not even attempt to transmit or receive unless I do a battery pull. If I leave WiFi off, everything works fine. It is now running OS v6.0.0.668 by AT&T. I just updated to this OS in hopes that it would fix the issue, but no luck.

Jun 14, 2012My phone stopped working randomly a couple of days ago. I cant send or receive texts or calls. In the corner where the signal is, changed from edge/GPRS to GMS now it's just constantly on SOS. I've tried going into mobile network options and switching network and then switching back and it's saying that my mobile network is out of range? I've also tried doing a battery pull and doing a security wipe which just deleted all my contacts I've been in contact with my mobile network and they told me try the SIM in another phone, and that worked so it's definitely a problem with the phone rather than the network.

With this one, I am having issues with the WIFI range. Â Where with my old one I could get WIFI in the garden (Router is in the living room on the first floor) and at work I sit the furthest away from the router, but again on my old Z3 I had no issues. Â This new one, as soon as I leave the living room the signal drops and disconnects, and at work the WIFI only connects as I walk past the router.

Nov 4, 2010Well a quick look at the volume on the Google forums shows this is not just my problem and it seems to be common to all Android phones. After moving out of range, the WiFi will not reconnect when back in range, i.e. moving between 2 locations that are remembered just shows the WiFi scanning then disconnecting all the time. Turning WiFi on and off causes it to request an IP address and then all is fine.I held off complaining about this until after the 2.1 update which I did yesterday, but no change.
In the interim I have installed a WiFi toggle app which does the job but this is such a fundamental issue it should have been 100% bulletproof from day one. After all probably 99.99% of all users are connecting via WiFi? and its the reason a smartphone is purchased. my daughters iPhone moves seamlessly between routers so its an Android problem.

Huawei Nexus 6P :: Tracking Down Reboots
Jan 5, 2016I've been getting reboots semi randomly for the last week or two. Going back two weeks ago I was having some pretty poor battery life compared to some other users so I tried to do a full purge and restart. I went through the file manager on twrp and deleted any folder for any app that I wasn't using in a possibly misguided attempt to curb any file conflicts. After I did this I did a fresh install of cataclysm and Franco. After running into some reboots I tried with Kylo kernel and had the same issue. I then tried full wipe with Ubermallow and Kylo and had the same issue. Then I did a full lock, unlock, flash stock, root and recovery, and fresh install of chroma and Franco and it still reboots.
What I want to know is whether or not this could be a hardware issue and if not how to get this to stop. It's seems so random yet specific and it's happened on so many different installs. I have been rooting my phones since the OG Droid but I have never had an issue like this that lasts through so many installs of so many different things.

Mar 12, 2012I have a very limited data plan (100mb/month) and I need to be able to identify what apps or processes are consuming data in my iPhone. How can I do this?I have already reviews all my accounts and turned Push off, although that didn't significantly reduce data usage. Either way, the accounts are responsible for, AT MOST, 2 or 3mb/day considering new emails/new calendar stuff and whatever. I have a lot of Apps too, but I'm always worried to keep every "automatic sync" stuff OFF. I use an application called DataMan Pro to track usage data and keep my data consumption under control. But it does not tell me WHERE the consumption came from. Yesterday I went to check DataMan for my usage and I was surprised to find 9MB of usage and I did NOTHING yesterday, didn't use any apps like facebook, didn't check my emails, anything. Where did that come from?

Apr 4, 2012I am responsible for approximately 20 iPhones for our business. Each person buys their own apps and syncs the iPhone to their own machine. I am interested in seeing if there is a way (either via Find My iPhone or some other method) to keep track of all of the phones under one account. We are trying to avoid making that the individual's responsibility, and make it so that one user (me) can locate any of the phones if needed. Or am I going to be forced to set it up 20 times with 20 different accounts, and then keep a master list of the usernames and passwords for each, so I can track each one should one go missing?

Motorola Droid X2 :: GPS Not Tracking Correctly On It?
Nov 12, 2011I too am a former Droid X user who has been upgraded to a DX2 due to the numerous problems with the Droid X Gingerbread Firmware updates.
I have seen this GPS issue mentioned in another thread and in other forums so I know its not unique to my device, but it was buried in with a lot of other issues and thought it deserved its own thread, which might raise awareness of it for Motorola.
I use CardioTrainer to run, and although the overall location seems to be accurate in "Gross" (my run started and ended on the correct streets) the track showed me "jumping" all over the place in approximately 50 ft increments. This resulted in my 6 mile run showing as 10 miles long! And the pace per mile was similarly incorrect. At this time I do not seem to be experiencing the East/West bug, although I will confirm that by using the Google Nav app the next time I am in my car (just activated the phone yesterday). Additionally, I turn off wifi and bluetooth, leaving on celluar radio and GPS to improve stability before starting my runs, as well as, doing a fresh reboot. These steps seemed to increase the chance of completing a run with my Droid X.
This is a major component of my use of the phone, and I really enjoyed having an all in one, mp3/radio, gps, phone, that assisted me on my runs. I cannot yet comment on whether the X2 is more stable than the X, due to my limited time with the phone.
