I recently purchased a BB bold 9000 and downloaded the regular facebook app, now there is a new version of it out with chat etc.!!! i have tried EVERYTHING and i cannot gt this new version, it keeps sayin that my device is not complatable....

The installed software version is 5.0.0.351 with platform 5.1.0.98 and branding version 1.0.160.529q.I have read in this forum that there is a later version of the os available yet when I utilized the BB desktop software updater, it say that the latest version is installed. Is this correct?
I also have other issues with applications. I am unable to download and install the "BlackBerry APP World"; I get a message, " Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry App World"
"Google talk" give an error messag: " Service not enabled for this hand held" "Blackberry maps" are not loaded on the handset.Setup wizard does not give me the option to set up my personal e-mail only enterprise e-mail.I am able to browse and send and receive MMS & SMS messages.
Kindly advise as to ho to resolve these issues and whether there is a more current software version for the handset, and if so: how do I update it.
I was about to download Opera Mini 4.2 for my Bold 9700 w/ 5.0 firmware. Opera's website doesn't show a version for the 9700 so I was going to download the version for the 9000. The only problem is the 9000 version doesn't have the 5.0 firmware option available. What version are you guys using on your 9700's?

I recently updated my n96 to version 30 software. On the software updates site it says this version has an integrated facbook application. Yet i cannot find this on my phone. Is the same app available to download from ovi or is it just like the ones that were available before that were just like a bookmark on my phone.

I've been getting fake notifications like crazy. for example, I'll get a pop-up notification that so-so (someone I don't have as a friend) sent you a message when I click on view and the app takes me to my facebook page theirs no message. Actually whenever I get one of these the badge on the facebook icon does not update. I just get the pop-up and that will also show on my lockscreen info.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have been having issues with my Bold lately and I am hoping it's software related (Email behaving strangely, not auto finding contacts, not letting me send an e-mail), phone running out of memory 3 times per day, etc. I am running 5.0.0.592 currently, and to begin with it was great! But I really want to clean it up and try a fresh OS. I've heard good things about 681 and 822, but both seem to have their issues. Can some of you who have tried 592, 681, and 822 give me a recommendation on whether to stick with 592 or upgrade to one of the other 2? What about 610? I seem to have seen it mentioned in an older thread as a good one too.

I didn't have any real complaints about VZW but wanted to upgrade to the Bold and since AT&T has similar coverage in the areas where I live and work, I went for it. Today, after deciding that I needed yet another change, specifically to a newer blackberry that actually still get's OS updates, along with trackpad and more memory, I made the switch back to good old Verizon and ordered a Bold 9650.
I should receive it on Wednesday and I'm so excited. I will miss my current Bold, we've had a great year together, but I'm really looking forward to my new Bold. Did I make the right decision? This was a bit of an impulse buy for me. Is there anyone else here that switched from the 9000 to the 9650?
I've been reading some posts here and am curious, some people are mentioning functions my BB doesn't have and I'm wondering why...I connected my BB to the desktop manager and clicked update, according to the DM the latest version is 4.6.0.303 which I have installed.Can anyone confirm this is in fact the most up to date version?

I received a replacement BB Bold 9650 and am having difficulty transferring subscription music from VCast Rhapsody. It transferred the first few songs but will not transfer anymore. There is no error message. I did not have this issue with my original phone. I have seen some posts about ensuring MTP is enabled but I do not see an option for Memory to do so. Ho do I ensure MTP is enabled.
