Feb 10, 2010I have a BlackBerry Bold 9700 with OS Version 5.0.0.321 Platform 5.1.0.90.I want to Install Opera Mini , in Opera Website there is no option for Bold 9700 also no option for OS Version 5.0 , it means I could not Install Opera Mini on my latest BlackBerry product ?

May 29, 2010I have just received a "Blackberry Bold 9700 Unlocked International Version" which i purchased from Amazon.Com. "This is supposed to be a new unbranded unit".
The installed software version is 5.0.0.351 with platform 5.1.0.98 and branding version 1.0.160.529q.I have read in this forum that there is a later version of the os available yet when I utilized the BB desktop software updater, it say that the latest version is installed. Is this correct?
I also have other issues with applications. I am unable to download and install the "BlackBerry APP World"; I get a message, " Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry App World"
"Google talk" give an error messag: " Service not enabled for this hand held" "Blackberry maps" are not loaded on the handset.Setup wizard does not give me the option to set up my personal e-mail only enterprise e-mail.I am able to browse and send and receive MMS & SMS messages.
Kindly advise as to ho to resolve these issues and whether there is a more current software version for the handset, and if so: how do I update it.

Jan 29, 2010I was about to download Opera Mini 4.2 for my Bold 9700 w/ 5.0 firmware. Opera's website doesn't show a version for the 9700 so I was going to download the version for the 9000. The only problem is the 9000 version doesn't have the 5.0 firmware option available. What version are you guys using on your 9700's?

Aug 24, 2010I have been using zillatube to convert videos to ringtones. The problem is this: how do I do I transfer mp3 files to my BB? I notice that all songs are gleaned from the Windows media player on my computer-so I tried to add them to a playlist but with no success. I transferred the files directly to my phone and they end up in files, I am then unable to select them as a ringtone.I don't know how to use the BB desktop to transfer them-it seems to only sync with the playlists of the cds I have ripped.

Sep 8, 2011I recently got a Bold 9700, and I downloaded and installed app world and facebook fine. It will not let me download anything else. It goes to download then part way through it stops and the error "There was a problem during installation. Please Try again." I have tried, uninstalling and re-downloading app world, still does it. I updated the software on my phone, still does it. I even have tried downloading the app directly from the company's website, instead of through app world, and it still does it.

Mar 31, 2012there is a certain app which i have been using daily for years on my two separate ancient ipods and my new iphone. i updated the app recently on the iphone and the new version is horrible. i want to go back in time!
unfortunately, with my monkeying around trying to make this happen, all i have managed to do is delete the new version from itunes and the old version from one of my ipods (when i deleted it from itunes, it deleted it from the ipod when syncing-- without asking me!).
but: it still exists in its lovely (older) form on the other old ipod.
is there any way to get it onto the iphone and the other ipod? i cant seem to find a way. if i can pull that off, then all i need to do is not update it and i can use it like the good old days.
