I've been reading some posts here and am curious, some people are mentioning functions my BB doesn't have and I'm wondering why...I connected my BB to the desktop manager and clicked update, according to the DM the latest version is 4.6.0.303 which I have installed.Can anyone confirm this is in fact the most up to date version?

I was about to download Opera Mini 4.2 for my Bold 9700 w/ 5.0 firmware. Opera's website doesn't show a version for the 9700 so I was going to download the version for the 9000. The only problem is the 9000 version doesn't have the 5.0 firmware option available. What version are you guys using on your 9700's?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe title says it all - I have a Bold with the oh-so-common broken mute key and I know that the latest 5.0 builds modified the lock/standby behavior. What is the latest build I can use?I can theoretically just use the warranty to get another refurb, but this is 9000 #2 to lose the standby button after 3 months, so I'd rather just hop on Craigslist and buy a 9700, then sell this 9000...
Also, has ANYONE been able to successfully use Blackberry AIM Recently? I seem to always have to choose "Refresh List" to get my messages - I've resent service books and even wiped my phone and reinstalled AT&T .303. I've tried the old 2.1 version that's available on here somewhere (which used to work well) as well as the latest 2.5.32 (which I don't really like anyway because of the 2-line contact list).
I cannot find the BB App World icon. I think it disappeared after I downloaded the latest version. I have deleted and re-downloaded. I have looked in every folder. I have downloaded and replaced the existing version. I have re-booted by taking the battery out, etc. The software is in my applications. I have gone through every folder clicking on show all also.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been having issues with my Bold lately and I am hoping it's software related (Email behaving strangely, not auto finding contacts, not letting me send an e-mail), phone running out of memory 3 times per day, etc. I am running 5.0.0.592 currently, and to begin with it was great! But I really want to clean it up and try a fresh OS. I've heard good things about 681 and 822, but both seem to have their issues. Can some of you who have tried 592, 681, and 822 give me a recommendation on whether to stick with 592 or upgrade to one of the other 2? What about 610? I seem to have seen it mentioned in an older thread as a good one too.

Now I've been occasionally upgrading his phone to latest leaks and hybrids, now the last hybrid I put on his phone was a 5.0.0.4xx hybrid, which was a while ago,he calls the other day to tell me that his phone is randomly dropping calls and that battery is getting hotter then usual. Now he took it to somebody to get it looked at(not his carrier) and they told him that the hardware is fine and that it might be the software. He calls me and asks me if I could upgrade( I upgrade to the latest leak for 9000) his phone to see if that fixes it.That was yesterday, hes calling again to day and saying that he still has the same problem, dropping calls like crazy, and battery is getting real hot. I left Verizon and my Curve 8330 for AT&T and the Bold 9000. I didn't have any real complaints about VZW but wanted to upgrade to the Bold and since AT&T has similar coverage in the areas where I live and work, I went for it. Today, after deciding that I needed yet another change, specifically to a newer blackberry that actually still get's OS updates, along with trackpad and more memory, I made the switch back to good old Verizon and ordered a Bold 9650.
I should receive it on Wednesday and I'm so excited. I will miss my current Bold, we've had a great year together, but I'm really looking forward to my new Bold. Did I make the right decision? This was a bit of an impulse buy for me. Is there anyone else here that switched from the 9000 to the 9650?
Just upgraded to V5 software on my Bold 9000, I hate the instant messaging type window for sms/mms, is there any way of changing this or have I got to re-install my previous software version?

They don't seem to understand that perhaps their information is wrong, and that I must speak to my network to get the latest firmware or they can't help me! So what IS the latest firmware for the X6?I really hate offshore call centres where if your problem doesn't fit the script then they just freak out. It's like they are robots or something.

Issue: After upgrading to version 4.6.0.282 the ring tone volume is very low, even when the profile setting has the tone set to High I often miss the call, I have tried turning on "Audio Boost" with no change, tried a hard re-boot, no change. Volume of calls are fine, it's the ring tones, I have the same ring tone in use as before the O/S upgrade so this hasn't changed, no other (new) apps have been installed, just the O/S upgraded. I can't find any sort of master volume control setting in any of the forums is there such a setting, how do I get the volumes back to normal?
I updated my N97 to version 2 yesterday and downloaded the news maps OTA, but it says it is version 3.01. Isn't the latest one 3.03?

It won't install the latest maps version 3.0. I copied the files from the memory card which came with the phone to my 8GB card but this doesn't fix the problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLast night i decided to restore my 3GS to 3.1.3 from 3.1.2 and when i tried to sync my apps back it would not sync them to the phone, it would show the progress bar go really fast but its impossible for something to install that fast since some apps i have are about 100-200 mb. I have the latest version of itunes(9.1.1.12) and i tried using different ports on my laptop, i tried rebooting both my phone and laptop and that did not help either. Any ideas on what to do

I have xeperia X8 since 1 yr. just recently found out that I have android version 1.6. so wanted to upgrade it to android 2.1 or higher. saw few threads & found that after backing up phone data I can run PC software & the software installer will update it to Android 2.1 but when i click on support zone > software update in pc companion, it says "your phone has already updated software". I dont know why its showing that & not downloading the android version. Should I update the PC companion software also?
